"An amazing 4.9 stars from 447 reviews. Expectations are of course high and we excitedly head to Bahnhofstrasse in Bensheim. It has to be said that there are quite a few kebab shops in Bensheim. The competition is correspondingly high and can boast some really good kebabs. In order to achieve such a good customer rating here, you definitely have to do a few things right. And that's what the owners do, as you can see from the comments in the recessions. You can often read here about “the best kebab in the city” and “super delicious bread”. Well then, let's see. The kebab station is a very small, inconspicuous shop at Bahnhofstrasse number 15. The direct neighbor on the left is also a kebab snack bar that is a little larger and more open. This neighbor can also serve with indoor seating, which unfortunately is very limited in our small station. Sitting outside isn't a problem when the weather is nice. During our visit we were greeted very friendly by a young woman and a young man. The two of them immediately gave us the feeling that they were genuinely happy about our visit. Perhaps this is partly due to the immediate competition next door, which is taking away one or two customers. But with a reception like this you immediately feel very comfortable as a guest. We wanted to take advantage of the nice weather and so after ordering we took a seat outside in the sun. Our food came quite quickly, although this unfortunately leads to a small point of criticism: the fries could have easily stayed in the deep fryer for 1 2 minutes longer, because fries have to be crispy! At least anywhere other than McDonalds. It's a shame, but not that bad. Let's get straight to the main character of our menu and the object of our desire: the kebab. Ordered in two versions once classic with garlic sauce and once with hot sauce. The bread is, as mentioned several times in the other reviews, really good and the garlic sauce is very tasty. Unfortunately we didn't like the hot sauce. The chicken was great; not too fatty and fried nice and crispy. Perfect. However, the other ingredients differ from what you would normally expect and make this kebab taste different to the competition. White and red cabbage, tomatoes and pickled peppers are completely avoided here. The contents only consist of iceberg lettuce, cucumbers and pepper strips. Of course, this has the advantage that the bread does not turn into mush due to the cabbage water, as is often the case with other kebabs in the last third. On the other hand, a lot of the typical kebab taste is missing, as the cucumber and peppers have a different taste, but are definitely fresh and crunchy. Our candidate comes across more like a fitness kebab, with somewhat spartan content, but with delicious bread and very tasty garlic sauce. Anyone who feels like trying an alternative kebab creation will find their happiness here. A clear recommendation from us, especially since the quality of the ingredients is excellent and the portion sizes are absolutely fine."
