"Went last night so very disappointed! Staff not as they were years ago... now young and rushed, no communication, not even small talk or politeness... Food awful to be polite... Starters chicken lives over cooked and very poor presentation. Minestrone soup was more chunky veg...than anything else, calamari looked ok but bland. Mains omg... lasagne watery pasta and arrived in a chipped unglued dish... left a lot Chicken with ham and asparagus served with rice. rice ok... rest wasn’t the best asparagus wrapped in slice of cheap round ham.. ate what could but left some just a place of off white food. No colour no care in playing up Seafood pasta... how I wasn’t Ill during the night is beyond me! The muscles were either closed, or had been left out for some time, cold withered put in my mouth and spat it straight out, prawns were pre cooked and added after so not very hot, watery sauce and over cooked pasta. Ate what could as starving... Garlic bread was cheap supermarket one which had been covered with a topping but tasted cheap we even left some of it whereby would usually order between us was more than enough of a poor experience. They were even warming someone’s desert up in a microwave near to us... no screen absolute joke. Been here a number of times years ago, great staff and atmosphere fab menu but NOT NOW, extremely disappointed, not cheap either especially given the food and service... we weren’t even asked if everything was or or if enjoyed our meals. DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!! Absolute Waste of And ruined an evening we had been looking forward to for months!"

"Well I have to say I did have it out with the manager and told him how bad it was and said I woudgo on social media bit I spent bear on100 pound for a **** experience so here's how it was so you don't get stung after reading some of the other reviews I think its right to let people know before wasting there time and money ,got there with the wife on a nice December evening and ordered a glass of red wine each ,we were served bye a young lad who gave is our drinks who was very polite and welcoming he said he had only been there a couple of months but went out of his way to make us feel welcome, nice wine awell, then the manager came over and said you can't order food at the bar until you have a table number ,ok I said can we have another wine to take to table which the young lad said I'll bring them over ,I said don't worry there's no hurry I'll wait ,the manager hurried us to a table next to a big table of eight people noisy drunk lot enjoying themselves which is fine but we are an older couple out for a quiet meal and there was only 3 full tables the place was empty lol ,stick us with the noisy lot ,anyway starters comes out missing one dish off scallops, they arrived after we said 10 minutes later ,there were 3 small scallops prise 14 quid lol ,shoudof bothered ,garlic mushrooms were not garlic mushrooms as no garlic I could taste ,my wife's salad had old flowery tasting tomatoes not fresh ,and my Mexican chicken in a mushroom sauce and rice tasted so bland and chicken over cooked was eatable but no way it was Mexican it tasted like a tesco microwave meal to be fair I eat half of it as I only had abit of toast that day and was hungry,I told the manager I was very disappointed with it all he said thanks for tge feedback, I said you should up your game here it's a nice place ,to be fair the young lad behind the bar could manage that place with good results as he knew how to treat people, but I'm sorry I won't be back as too pricey for an absolute disappointment which is a shame as such a good looking place to go ."

"This cafe is like a disguised greasy spoon. The food was mediocre, the coffee was good and the service was trying but not hard enough. I ordered a veggie breakfast and the toast was brought out a good 7 or 8 minutes before the actual breakfast so it was cold by the time I received the main part. That's where the theme began because the beans and mushrooms were cold too which is really unpleasant. The veggie sausage, hashbrown and tinned tomatoes also didn't require any preparation by the cafe (premade) which is totally acceptable but means I can't really comment on their quality. The service was just a bit miserable, I think the service with a smile was forgotten. Although I didn't need to use them, I don't think there were any toilets available. If the food and been hot and there had been more friendly service I would have rated higher. Photos are; veggie breakfast and veggierama breakfast. edit in response to cafè owner's disagreement. The female waitress was friendly and chatty, the young man who served us first, may have been a bit shy so perhaps he could be trained to remember to smile more often. The toast arrived long enough before the breakfast to go cold, I waited for a while but when I resigned myself to the fact breakfast wasn't coming our before it got cold I gave up and ate it. It's my preference to have my toast served hot with my breakfast at the same time and majority if not all breakfasts I've ordered in the past has come together. For clarity, when the toast arrived it was warm which is great. The beans and mushrooms were cold, I didn't say anything to the server because they were busy in the kitchen or with another customer, fair enough. I didn't want to have to sent my breakfast back and it shouldn't rely on me to ask for them to be reheated. I appreciate it was an oversight, I'm just stating fact that it was room temperature/cool. I didn't ask where the toilet was so I accept they must have been available and I can't comment on what they were like. I ate everything on the plate because I was hungry- as you pointed out in your reply. I say it is a disguised greasy spoon not because the food was greasy, it was not. I was describing the venue because it reminded me of those kind of cafes, my clothes smelt when I came out, the windows were all steamed up and the temperature inside was cold, I could see my breath when I breathed out. It was a very pleasant cafe and I'm sure lots of people enjoy eating here but I accurately described my experience and I have corrected and addressed those things you disagreed with. If the food was hot I would have given 4.5 stars but hot food is absolutely essential for me and I am totally honest in my reviews. I'll just reiterate that the female waitress was friendly and chatty AND the prices are VERY good value! I would recommend giving this place a try."
