"eating is excellent, the portions are generous (for cambridge prices), the selection of vodkas is incomparable and the host are very friendly. I have fed with a Polish friend (which, by the way, is polonia addicted and cannot stay away), who has made her more friendly than usual, but I have the impression that they are only friendly people. it sounds as if bluejade had chosen the wrong dishes for their meals. I was in polen several times, and the pierogi at this place (excellent, for a starter or main course, not the dessert set I did not try) beats things that were handmade by babcias. the most important courses we tried, we shared three of which one goulash with kartoffel pancakes, the others that I cannot remember, the name were all delicious, in a homemade style. after that we were satisfied, so no dessert. if they have registered for traditional Polish foods (or Slovenian, Austrian, Hungarian), they should know what to expect: hearty, rich and filling, but not ugly cuisine. that said: pierogi is the king of the dumplings and I could eat it all day, it is like ravioli and takes a real work of love to get right. polonia is the real deal, it is as authentic as they come. as long as they like delicious, hearty, homemade food, they will not be disappointed!"
