"It took nearly 2 hours for my food to arrive and I still haven't received it. I'm frustrated because when I called, they said it was on its way, but when I checked the Just Eat app, the driver had been delivering my food for an hour with no explanation for the delay. I won't be ordering from here again. I was really looking forward to enjoying some delicious chicken after a smoke, but it was a total disappointment."

"I saw this place when I was on a trip to Chester, chips looked delicious and had a wide range of sauces and decided to try. Wow these chips were the best I’ve had in my life!! I only ordered a regular but the girl who served me was lovely and gave me a good serving, filled my chips right to the top, amazing value for money. The blue cheese dip was legendary, I’ve always wanted to try blue cheese dip but I’ve never saw it in England before, definitely exceeded my expectations. Would definitely be here all the time if there was one local to me, it’s a shame I live in Manchester! Loved the food and service!"

"pizza express now has a pretty good selection of vegan pizzas and also makes a few starters. there is the usual sorbet option for desert, strawberry and chocolate sauce or carrot cake. I had a Giardiniera pizza, it's the vegan she's been doing for everlasting purposes and is still the best I think. the naughty vegan garlic bread was tiny for the price (about the size of a small pittabrot). has not been harassed with dessert. the service was good. it was a busy Saturday night, but the waitress was friendly and eating came fast."

"The dining experience was disappointing due to the subpar quality of the cooking, which seemed to be on par with that of an amateur home cook. While the menu appeared decent at first glance, the dishes were unimpressively prepared and lacking in creativity. I made a last-minute reservation over a busy long weekend when I learned that my son, his girlfriend, and her parents from Korea would be visiting Chester. Many restaurants were fully booked, but the MB restaurant was nearly empty, which should have been a telling sign. I was looking for a pleasant atmosphere with a view of the garden, and while the Mollington Banastre restaurant overlooks a decent lawn, the hotel itself seemed to be lacking in investment. The front car park was riddled with potholes, leaving a poor first impression. The service was good, the ambiance was fine, and the server who took our drink and meal orders was friendly and efficient. However, the lackluster cooking, both in terms of variety and execution, was a major letdown. Although the restaurant positions itself as mid-range, at £165 for six people (with most only having two courses and no coffee), I left feeling disappointed with the evening overall."

"not impressed. 5 minutes before our booking I got in and said hello we've booked a book I was rudely said they've given 're late we've given her table away. I had emails and booking confirmations that our table was for 6 o'clock, but they were shamed that it was booked for 5:30. after the first booking we were asked to send over our food order days in advance, because there were more than 6 of us because the food was freshened....okay but eating was at best sufficient. nothing cried us fresh! we were pushed into a rear room behind a curtain without music or other people, no ambiente at all, while the rest of the place was dizzying. we asked the waitress, who was incredibly rude all night and was short) if we could have music in the room, she turned on the music so loud that we couldn't hear each other and we had to find another waiter to kindly turn it on us. we were really disappointed and wanted to drink one night, but we moved on quickly! we don't want to go back there!"

"I typically don't write reviews, but as someone who used to frequent this restaurant and considered it a favorite place to order from, I am extremely disappointed. My friends and I were having a party and ordered takeout, but only half of our order arrived. We didn't realize this until we started unpacking. I called the restaurant to inquire about the missing items, but the person on the phone was rude and accused me of being a liar. After some back and forth, they assured me that the missing items would be sent out, but they never arrived. Despite multiple calls, the situation was never resolved. I reported the issue to Uber Eats, but they only offered a partial refund. This experience ruined our Saturday night and I will not be ordering from this restaurant again unless they address the issue with their staff."

"I was bought an Activity Superstore voucher for my birthday which gave me an Afternoon tea for two people. We spent the day in Chester prior to going to the hotel and wished we hadn 't bothered. Upon arrival the hotel didn 't look appealing and when we were greeted at reception we were made to feel that the booking had been forgotten about. We were asked to take a seat whilst the reception team member found someone to seat us. We were seated in what can only be called a green house with no ventilation air. We were offered tea or coffee and were told to take a seat. The curtains and table clothes were dirty, the furniture tatty and we felt like we needed a shower when we left. After around 10 minutes, the drinks arrived and we took it upon ourselves to move to a table in the shade. The air conditioning wasn 't working and it was 30 degrees outside. To be fair, the air conditioning looked like it hadn 't been serviced or used in quite some time (my husband works in the HVAC industry) Our food arrived and my heart sank. We weren 't asked or told what the sandwiches included or what the cakes were. The sandwiches were dry, tasteless and half of the crusts remained. We only ate a couple and left the rest. The cakes were okay although what we think might have been a profiterole looking more like a sausage!! The scones were crunchy and we were offered no butter as an option. At no point did anyone ask if we would like another drink (hot or cold) or whether the food was okay. We were in the hotel around 30 minutes before we left very disappointed. Certainly not a place I would recommend or return to."

"Had the worst meal for long time. My cod was over cooked, rubbery and tasteless. The meal was barely warm. My other guests were not overly enthused by their food either. Very disappointed. And to add insult to injury the service was diabolically slow. Took over an hour to get main meal served and half an hour to receive desserts, which were the better part of the meal. I didn’t complain as what is the point- if they offered me something else it probably would have been so long in the coming to the table that my guests would have long finished their dinners. But I will never ever be going back there again."

"I visited Allium to pick up two pizzas to go, and the entire experience was a disaster from beginning to end. Although the restaurant was empty, I had to wait about 30 minutes only to be informed that they had no pizza boxes for takeout. Instead, I was offered the option to carry the pizzas on plates down the street. So, we opted to dine in. Honestly, I think frozen pizzas from Iceland would have been a better choice; they were awful. The crust was as hard as cardboard—probably frozen beforehand—with just some extra cheese thrown on top. This definitely doesn't reflect the quality of a top chef!"

"We booked to go to The Ship for a family get together. From the time we arrived, we were looked after by the whole team and nothing was too much trouble. From giving us extra portions for starters, so we could split them more easily, to giving us a dash of wine we we joked that some cream had been spilt in an empty glass (which it hadn’t! , the service was exemplary. We were able to stay on our table the whole evening and at no point felt rushed. The food was also amazing, and excellent quality. We will definitely be returning and will rave about this place to anyone who will listen!"

"Really want to like this place as it has been highly recommended and is within walking distance of our new home. We've been twice within a couple of weeks simply for convenience. People working there are really lovely, but the very young staff don't seem to know what they're doing kids food came out long before adult food ready. There were then items missing off the plate that we had to request (no apology just laughed at the mistake . Chips massively overcooked, other items had clearly just been thrown in a deep fat fryer and came out dripping in oil (chicken schnitzel not good..! . We won't be rushing back, but we WILL give it another go in a few months to see if things improve as I really DO want to like it (the setting and beer garden are fantastic, so would definitely use it for drinks just not food . Hoping we simply caught them on two bad days."

"The kitchen performance fluctuates between only average and really excellent. The perfectly prepared beef bark. The wine tour didn't convince me. The restaurant recalls a pub, the tables are small and the chairs are not very comfortable. The very high price of almost 200 euros per nose does not seem justified to me. The kitchen can become more consistent and if the restaurant is made even more cozy and more colourful, then the studio Wilma is also worth the price."

"Toby Carvery Hoole Village is a great place to visit we all love going, the only criticism I would give is we once visited Toby Carvery Huddersfield on the way home from a trip out, and for some reason the Toby Carvery Huddersfield Gravy was out of this world. Now we have tasted that Gravy we think that the Toby Carvery Hoole Village Gravy is watered Down, as it is rather bland. As we loved the Toby Carvery Huddersfield Gravy so much, we have thought of making a 1hour 45 minus trip just to go out for lunch there."
