"In my earlier visit, the food was truly excellent, and the manager took the time to chat with me. However, I noticed that no one mentioned the loyalty program. I found the display and the card only after we had already spent £50, which was disappointing. Additionally, while discussing my experience, the manager brought up an inexperienced employee who was just a couple of feet away behind the bar. It's frustrating when points aren't recognized, especially when there should be better communication among staff. Overall, it's a great place to eat, but there are some areas for improvement in customer service."

"We visited Peri Village on a Sunday afternoon. Despite its name, the restaurant primarily offers Italian dishes alongside pizza, burgers, and Peri Peri chicken. We sampled a variety of dishes, starting with the garlic bread, which was excellent! The Caprini pizza, topped with goat cheese, caramelized onions, and spinach, was also very good—definitely recommended! The Carbonara pasta was flavorful, albeit not quite al dente, but it was creamy and delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the service was top-notch, making our lunch a delightful experience."

"it was Valentine's Day! needed somewhere locally and for a fast, comfortable meal. to our surprise a musician had been set for the evening and this improved the ambiente so much that we wanted to take our time over the culinary experience. Nevertheless, the employees were too excited to postpone the delivery of the courses and it would have helped them to return a little. the set menu was a real bonus and the selection of food tasted amazing. "Meal was late arriving, the chapatis looked like they were a week old and we just binned them (see photo), the poppadoms were smashed to pieces, there was a lake of ghee on the top of our lamb dish, the tarka dal was bland and...tasteless, the lettuce in the salad was brown and rotting. Very expensive and there’s much better value from restaurants in Tadworth and Banstead."

"Visited Le Raj about two weeks ago and was beyond my expectations. On arrival we sat in the lounge drinking beer and Prosecco while waiting on another guest. There was a perfect ambience and the staff were very welcoming and friendly too. The main restaurant was set out really beautifully and the lighting was great. Service continued to be exceptional as we had starters and then mains which were the perfect portion and tasted amazing. When we finished up, we got some cocktails which tasted better then actual cocktail bars. Best pina colada I’ve ever had! Will be returning for birthdays and celebrations again in future!"

I took my friend who was an Olympic visit in the country, in the epsom thai. it was a last night special meal and I was embarrassed in the low quality. the Tom-Yum soup we had was really salty and tasted nothing like tom yum tom yum, is characterized by its pronounced hot and acidic aromes and fragrant ceremonies like lemongras, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, limette juice, fish sauce and crushed chili pepper. we could just try fish sauce, nothing else. "We first came to Bay Leaves when we moved back to Epsom in 2015, which was a really pleasurable experience back then. We popped in here on Friday 13th Oct 2023 in the hopes we were able to get a table, and thankfully we did. The gentleman on duty gave us a very warm welcome, and we felt valued as soon as we walked through the door. We started with the obligatory poppadoms, which cames with what I think was finely chopped red onion and red peppers in a lovely sweet red juice. My husband chose lamb madras, and I had lamb dhania, together with coconut rice and the most buttery tasting saag aloo on the planet, chippati and a peshawari naan. It was my first taste of a dhania, and after one mouthful I was hooked! Simply fabulous. The bill was realistic, and it speaks volumes knowing the owner is the same after all these years. Also another indication they have a good reputation is that they obviously have their regulars, and the phone was constantly ringing. The nicest touch as we left, was when a young man opened the door and thanked us for our custom. Thank you gentlemen. We will definitely be back"

"My sister booked a family meal for 11 to celebrate my mums birthday this Friday gone for Saturday the 14th four groups of the family came from different locations as this was the closest PE. My family and I were there first to arrive, it was obvious that there wasn’t a large table set for us, my sister who booked it arrived next and on arrival we were told that there wasn’t a booking! The manager asked when she had booked it she replied yesterday lunch and had spoken to a man, the manger denied there was a man working and that we hadn’t booked! Can the manager please enlighten me to why four families travel without a booking to celebrate someone’s birthday? Did we do this to just waste our time?We paid to park in the Ashley centre to what waste money!!! No apology, no attempt to try to resolve the matter, just we are very busy you can wait an hour and a half or we can sit you on two different tables! There were no tables available that could have been pushed together so we would have been sat well apart. I cant understand how after Covid and all of the hospitality industry have been so prominent in telling us all how hard they have had it can simply mess this up and not resolve the issue! The curt attitude of the manager was appalling. I’m glad it wasn’t me that made the booking, I wouldn’t have been so polite,and before the manger denies we booked , please find attached the call register from my sisters phone on the Friday.Won’t be returning, which is a shame as its the most local to my mum’s, Prezzos it is! We then got a table at the Worcester Park branch who couldn’t have been more accommodating."

"Lovely meal out with drinks in a lovely area. Efficient staff, reasonable prices, enjoyable evening. EDIT...Revisited, sat in the sun on a side table. The people next to us were eating. Collected a menu; was told, you can 't eat there. Asked to be seated where we were allowed but could we have a table in the sun please. The bar manager that seated us put us on a table for 2 (as the sun went behind a cloud) and said, sun 's gone in now sir . There were 2 tables in the sun (admittedly for 4 people) but they were empty for a time. We ordered food and asked the waiter if we could move...he politely said they weren 't allowed to move guests to a bigger table because of space. Finally people did come and sit at those tables but I then saw a couple eating at the table we had originally moved from in the sun!! When I asked about this, the bar manager said, you can eat snacks and starters at those tables! Considering I had asked 3xs to be seated in the sun I found the outside seating manager rude, unhelpful and condescending. A shame as other staff were cheerful and friendly and it is a nice setting. (We had also asked the same guy on the 1st visit I reviewed and again got put where he wanted even though it was empty at the time! On that occasion I just moved myself as it wasn 't busy)."

"We are not locals but visit Epsom every few months and always take in an evening at this restaurant. In the past it has been excellent. However, this time it was a major disappointment. We arrived at 19.30 having made a booking. We finally received our meal at 21.00 some 1.5 hours after arriving. Not only that, the service was 'ridiculous ' for example, it took ages to get a beer, we asked for tap water for the table there were 4 of us after a while the waiter arrived with two glasses and we had to ask for another two. In addition, at times, the delivery guys were stood inside the restaurant which just looked messy. We were not the only ones receiving a slow service, others were almost pleading to be served. To us, it appeared that the restaurant prioritised greatly the deliveries as opposed to their inhouse customers. Once arrived, the food was delicious and we were offered complimentary drinks. The staff were friendly. I suggest the management take note of this review before their business really suffers."

"Visited the Beefeater at Tattenham Corner for the third time (in six years) to give it another chance, as previous visits had been awful. We booked a table, arrived on time. The attitude of our waiter was so negative upon arrival, that I wish we had turned around and gone elsewhere. We were eventually given menus. He came to take our orders 25 mins after arriving, telling us for will be at least 30-45 mins. Our drinks arrived 45 mins after we got there. We were close to leaving at that stage. Food eventually arrived. We had asked for the steaks to be medium, they arrived well done, as had been sitting on the pass for quite a while (we didn't send back for fear we would be waiting another half an hour). We were asked if we wanted any sauces, we asked for ketchup which never arrived. The service/attitude of staff was rubbish. It wasn't even that busy. I realise they were short staffed, but then they shouldn't have taken our booking. This place is missing a trick, could be amazing as location is great. They need someone like Toby Carvery or Harvester to take over the place and transform it. Don't waste your money going here."

"Our meals were very good, and we chose items from both the à la carte and set menus. When our bill arrived, we noticed that the child's meal we had ordered was charged, even though the outdoor sign and the email communication stated it would be free in August. The waitress explained that it was because we had ordered from the set menu, but she offered to deduct it from the service charge. We didn't want to go through that hassle, so we decided to pay the bill as it was. I would suggest that the restaurant clearly communicates the terms regarding the free children's meal offer to avoid any confusion, as the information on the signage and in the emails was misleading. Despite this, we had a lovely lunch overall."

"This restaurant offered an authentic experience of sub-continental cuisine. The venture is very enterprising located in NESCOT. Everything is new and very clean. There is a good choice of dishes although on our visit the two dishes my son asked for were not available. I had a sizzling tikka dish of chicken lamb chop and fish which was very good accompanied with an exceptional vegetable curry with nine different vegetables.My son enjoyed his chicken tikka masala . Naan bread and a chapati were of a high standard. The service was a bit slow but it is a training ground for youngsters making their way in the catering industry."

"disappoint. have lived in the areas for 3 years and meaningfully try to support how the local businesses. you have to say that everything was a little tired and dated. very limited menu and the waiter had zero initiative and a modest bypass. my partner asked for various kartoffels to the maic with the lamb; his immediate blunt reaction was £3,50 extra for each side. the only steak was on a stone they cook at the table itself. I get a discount for cooking, his answer was reflected in the price. I asked if I cooked the steak from the chef and could pay something extra. No, we can't do this because we don't have the facilities, was the bizarre answer. a restaurant that can cook a steak! starters were poor, lamb was beautiful, huh was very poor and tiny. felt like left. not back. the owners should also teach the waiter some customer focus and take a look at what they are trying to achieve in 2018."

"This is our usual venue for celebrations both because its local and because usually its a well priced great food but based on my experience last night I wont be going back for a while. A number of things went wrong, and any one on its own would have just been put down as bad fortune, but all together suggests that the owners of Derby Arms are trying to offer a fine dining experience but not backing it up. 1) I booked online and mentioned the booking was for my wife 's birthday, and at no point was this mentioned. In its self this wasn 't an issue as she never likes the attention of it, but it does suggest that nobody paid attention to the note made under special requests and dietary issues so does suggest that if I 'd made a dietary comment it may also have been ignored here 2) They brought out the wrong starter, firstly the server seemed to be expecting me to accept what he brought out, and then returned to the kitchen to get what had been ordered which did arrive very soon after. The lady who took our order came to apologise and blamed the kitchen, but given the same item was on our bill it was clearly her error. 3) The waiting staff were very pleasant but not very attentive. This was highlighted best when the server arrived with our main course and our starter plates had not been taken away. A bit of juggling later (thankfully there was a spare table nearby) all was sorted 4) When you order a £30 steak you 'd expect decent meat, served well Not on a wooden block with chips in a cup (very pub styly) 5) Both steak meals had things missing, my wife had no chips and I was missing the extra onion rings ordered. Once highlighted they arrived in good time When you 're paying £75 a head for a pub meal you really expect many of these mistakes not to be made and there is every chance we were just unlucky."

"I've visited the Derby Poore several times and generally had a good experience, but this time was disappointing. We waited over 30 minutes to receive our check, despite several waitstaff passing by and us trying to get their attention. After waiting 45 minutes with no one coming to assist us, I finally had to go to the cash register to request the bill. Additionally, the food was cold, and the gravy was runny. The service was not up to par for a place with so much potential, and I won't be returning."
