"My third visit to Angel's restaurant and it never disappoints. He hails from Andorra, via Barcelona and has recently build and opened La Era, a small restaurant with magnificent views of the pantano and the Sierra Nevada. The food here is outstanding, unashamedly modern Spanish and the northern influence yields much richer dishes made of better quality ingredients than traditionally available in Andalucia. We opted for the gastronomic menu (5 courses for €30) sharing one between two due to having eaten a huge breakfast and on account of the heat! Two amuse bouches, an outstanding duck pate and salmorejo got us going. We then cracked into foie gras, Salmon en croute, chuleton de buey. The food is beautifully psented and garnished with coulis and sauces and fresh fruit and vegetables. This has to be one of the absolutely top places in Granada to eat, and it is well worth the trip out of town, with spectacular views and dizzy drops. The service is a little chaotic and the stack of rattling plates on which the food is served can be off-putting. I'm sure that Angel will sort out his service and make this one of the top destinations in Granada."
