"It is very rare I leave a review, especially a positive one but I was so impressed with this place I felt I had to. If you want to save yourself a read of my essay below... If you love meat, get yourself to this place ASAP! Don't question it, just go!A party of 16 of us came here for a birthday meal. The VenueThis small but stylish restaurant is split over two levels, the lower being a bar area and the upper being a seating area. It is nicely decorated with a rock bar atmosphere. It was very clean and tidy and all tables are nicely laid out with a decent spacing between each. With 16 of us being together on one large table it did feel a little bit snug for those of us with broader shoulders and bigger guts but not to the point it was an issue. The staircase is quite steep so be mindful if you take any elderly people. The StaffUpon entry we were greeted by the owner who was friendly and inviting, he immediately made us feel welcome and quickly got us some drinks. We were boring and just had a fruit cider, I was driving so only had the one but would have loved to try some of their cocktails, the barman/mixologist was hard at work whipping up some very nice looking cocktails. All of the staff where very friendly, polite and professional. They all made us feel really welcome and couldn't do enough to help us. If felt like a personal service which is a rarity these days, especially around here. You can tell the team have a passion for great food and drinkThe FoodIts hard to put into words how good this food is. I had the brisket and its was cooked to perfection! It melted in the mouth, was so tender I could have done with a spoon vs a fork, it came with a beautiful bourbon sauce, the brisket didn't really need this because it was so flavoursome but when combined... wow. I also sampled other dishes around the table and was impressed with everything. The sticky chicken was great, the bacon burger was brilliant. The potion sizes were good, especially my brisket and even the homemade coleslaw went down a treat. Consensus around the table was everything was beautiful. To Sum upI will be highly recommending this place to anyone and everyone that will listen. This little gem of a restaurant and if like me you are a bit of a carnivore get yourself down to this place ASAP! They do take away as well and we will be all over this on pay day.If the team read this. You should be very proud of yourselves and I just want to say thank you again for making my girlfriends birthday meal so great! We loved it and will most certainly back (if you couldn't have guessed from the above)Thanks againJon"

"From the minute we entered grants we received poor customer service, we waited a long time for someone to attend our table, the lady said she could not take our order at the bar as she had not started her shift. She did eventually accept our order, it took ages to order food, another lady was so busy drying glasses she forgot about us yet another very frosty barmaid with an attitude, you would of thought customer service would be first and foremost right now. We spent £96 not a tenner and no one even took my main course plate away, we were told we could not have ice cream with our brownie only cream so we had to order ice cream to go with the brownies at £4.95 and we went to the bar four times to ask about the dessert. Not once were we asked if we enjoyed the meal, everything g was too much trouble for this staff member. I was told she even laughed at us after we asked about the desserts, really!! It was a catalogue of problems but we did hear her ask if things were ok at another table but not ours. She was obviously annoyed as we asked so many questions about the brownies. It was terrible and as a boss on a works meal to thank my staff I can tell you she would not be working for me so if you are the boss look at your cctv and see for yourself. It was terrible service no gkk look added were collected, our dishes and cups left plus my main course plate but nice food but I will not be coming back. I took my plate to the bar with the payment for my bill to prove a point and to say how much we had enjoyed it (not) and they shouted bye whilst laughing so yes very childish indeed. Is this how you treat your customers? We did nothing wrong yet this is how we were treated so I would say go somewhere who value you as a customer."

"the stanhill pub is an unlikely place to find vegan options, but proves the growing popularity of veganism. the stanhill has recently introduced a vegan menu, which is also not a tokengeste, but well thought out with creative feed. I had a chat with chef chef nathan by e-mail before our visit to my allergies and was impressed by his answer and geduld with my asking. we were shown to a cozy table for two and had a quiet drink while we went through the menu and chose appetizers of mushroom and spinat bruschetta for me and lauch and kartoffel soup for naves. our appetizers were excellent, the suppe was thick and velvety, the mushrooms were perfectly cooked and the food was well seasoned. I knew which main course hubby would choose as he loved tofu and although my intention was to have the vegan fish and chips, I chose the gnocchi. the most important courses as the appetizers were absolutely spot on, packed with big aromen and quickly torn off, although I left a little gnocchi as it was a big part. my experience surpassed my expectations, so many menus sound promising and are a complete one can be eaten, but not in stanhill. I had a quick word with the house manager sam, who said that the vegan menu was popular with not only vegan, but also not vegan. I think the fact that they offer the vegan menu for all customers and is not hidden as many places, is a great idea. my only light critique is his shame that the weeping list does not contain vegan friendly wee, so I have made a photo and will explore before my next visit, but hope the stanhill will look for the future. I will definitely return sooner than later, as there are so many dishes I want to try, as well as hubby. highly recommended."

"This used to be one of my favourite restaurants. It's had a great menu, Manchester vibes, and was just great. My wife and I went over for dinner last night, and I was so excited, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectation. We went in at 6:30 pm and it was empty. Never a good sign. We were warmly greeted and told to find a table, and drinks would be taken. We were given menus, and we both immediately wanted cheese and onion pies. We ordered starters of onion rings and the ribs and wing combo. We were told that they may not have any as they sold out yesterday, Well that was yesterday, why not make more today? The server went off to check and said they were out of pies. I asked if they were out of both pies as they did a steak and ale pie and was told there were no pies. We were given a menu again and the server said that she would get our starters going. We ordered burgers minutes after the servervtook our order our starters were brought over. Suspiciously quickly. The onion rings were dark and tasteless. The chicken was clearly from yesterday as they were dry. I often eat a Sunday lunch the day after so I know the difference. The ribs were just bland. My wife left 4 of the 5 onion rings and the server asked how they were. She used the word cremated and said she would see about having them taken off the bill. She came back and asked if we'd like a fresh portion of onion rings with the burgers and my wife said yes. Burgers arrived with freshly cooked chips and the onion rings came which were a lovely golden colour. That part of the meal was fine and I'm glad to see that the issue was resolved. Another couple came in and I overheard them order the steak and ale pie from the same server who told me that they had no pies!!! When we went to pay the owner was sat there and he too apologised for the onion rings and he also described them as cremated. Although the issue was rectified I doubt I will be going back for dinner which is a shame."
