"Small sushi and general East Asia takeaway place just by entrance into New Malden train station, I always get food here whenever in the area to get rare items in the Korean supermarkets as this area is the best place to go in Surrey for Asian foods that usually can't be found anywhere else. The owners of Ohaio are actually Korean, so you can get a good choice of Korean dishes here and even Thai food specials as well as the traditional Japanese sushi. They have a lunchtime special on various things, but that is only up until 3pm, great meal deals and value for money. For anybody who loves Asian food, this is heavenly and I will definitely be back."

"Where do I even start with this place. I had such high hopes after reading the reviews. If the alley way wasn’t enough to scare you off please enjoy the never ending line of Deliveroo drivers as you enter the restaurant (first red flag) having ordered our food we then have to witness about 12 bags being packed, while we wait 20 mins before having to ask for a glass of water. Three skewers of Yakatori chicken arrive, tepid and seemingly have not been grilled. My beer arrives about the only saving grace of this meal. Our mains arrive, both rice dishes which were incredibly disappointing. Lacking in flavour and oily. New Malden has fantastic restaurants sadly this isn’t one of them."

"Great German Goods!. Steins in Kingston is one of those places you stumble across and wish you'd found it months earlier. Sat on the banks of the river Thames in Kingston its the perfect place to pull up for a few hours to enjoy some fine german sausage and a couple of beers. "I expected much more when I visited The Pickled Pantry. With so many coffee brunch spots in the area, I decided to look at reviews to decide which one to visit. Needless to say, I cannot understand how this place has received so many positive reviews. In a nutshell, it is very expensive for tiny portions. The sourdough bread is thin and lackluster, very stingy bacon portions, and I genuinely still felt hungry after a very run-of-the-mill eggs benedict. Many places do a much better eggs benny for half of the price. Also, the interior is cramped, stuffy and uncomfortable in every aspect. I'm sorry to be so negative but I felt the need to write a review which reflected my experience after it was the reviews that lead me to this spot in the first place."

"Let me start by saying the Grey Horse is a great pub in Kingston, we have been going for years. My Wife and I popped in to get some of the excellent food they serve and sat in the SMOK'D restaurant at the back. Being slightly addicted to Buffalo Wings we ordered 9 wings each and little piggy fries. The fries with little pork belly bits were as always amazing. The service was great and the produce was clearly very good. But alas when the wings arrived they were 9 whole wings!. Just to clarify in true USA BBQ style I was expecting jointed wings i.e wings and drumettes jointed into individual pieces. I not complaining about volume as I received what I considered 18 wings (i.e 9 wings and 9 drumettes). But the unjointed wings do make good eating. Being whole they overlap so you don't get that lovely crispy gnarly outer and you are left instead with your bog standard British Chicken wing with a slightly flabby outer skin that you cant pick up!! Such a shame as the wings used to be excellent and really the only wings this side of the Atlantic that I enjoyed. I would always recommend them to other Buffalo wing addicts but now I really couldn't. The 3 stars reflected that everything else about the Grey horse and SMOK'D was great, and I hope that the wings are restored to their former glory."

"Being a regular goer to New Malden, I was curious about this restaurant but always had another place to go. But yesterday was the day. First impression was not great. As it was a Friday evening, the place was packed. We had a booking but...the staffs couldn't find a table and they probably have been happy if we told them we'll go elsewhere. And before giving us table, they were only asking if we intended to do a table BBQ or not. Being a timer, all seems be strange. Soon it made clear. This is an extended arm of next door butcher store. Customers for the tabletop bbq, need to purchase their favourite cut from the butcher next door and then bring them to the restaurant to cook it on the table top. Butcher had a good selection of cut in Korean style. Korean butchery is known for more detailed cuts and have varieties of speciality cuts for tabletop bbq like sec pork slice. We went for Wagyu sirloin, roll of marinated short rib aka Kalbi, and a pack of thin sliced short rib, came up to There is pp table setting charges which covers a tabletop bbq grill, types of Korean bbq sauces, side dishes, lettuce and garlic slices for wrapping. There is a restaurant menu to order popular Korean dishes like Jeon (pancake). But for us, it was bbq only time. We started with one chunky Wagyu sirloin. It was soft and buttery taste just melt in the mouth experience, superb! Thin sliced short rib had more texture but still tasty. And lastly the marinated kalbi was amazing. We couldn't get through all the meat so I came home with roll of beautifully marinated kalbi beef. Was the whole experience worth it? Definitely. The questionable welcoming service got better when I understood how they operated. It's DIY and I kinda enjoyed they left us alone. It's like eating at home (but no need to do clean up afterward). Most importantly, I enjoyed quality and variety of meat cuts. It's subjective matter but i felt was good price for a meat feast for two which incl. Wagyu and bottle of Cass beer. I will be happy to come back to this place very near future."

"Stick to the coffee and it's an amazing place. This is just a gem in Kingston. A tiny place but the staff is quite nice and quick to serve you with well trained Batista's behind the counter. The coffee is just flawless. Their main one is called JavaScript which has some special signature flavour profile that just elevates it above any other I tasted and I have tasted quite a few good coffee including admired ones like Monmouth coffee etc. The only disappointment I had was the croissant I once tried which was big but dry and flavourless. So stick to the coffee and you will love the place. :"

"The Lamb is an antidote to the gentrification and branding of most other pubs in the area so I do see the appeal...but then I visit and I remember this place sadly isn’t for me most of the time. It’s cramped bordering on claustrophobic, it looks like a hoarder’s living room, the selection of cheeses looks better than the selection of pints. The place makes more sense to me in the summer when you can escape into the beer garden and stretch out a bit. Still, there’s a genuine community feel to The Lamb and I’m glad it’s always there as a (very different) option."

"I visited montys with my brother and we both found a mixed bag. the menu was authentic and varied and the naan and the pickles were very good. but on the lower side, I found my hunch under seasoned, the portions were quite small and not much worth and our rice was quite cold. "Noodles!. Wagamama is a chain which serves noodles. The seating is very nice and the food comes on a first-come first-serve bases. So, if someones' meal is ready before someone elses, the one that was made first comes to the table. I ordered steak and noodles. The steak was tasty, but the noodles were undercooked. The orange juice was VERY big but I managed it. The ice cream was lovely. Me and my parents paid £25 which is a reasonable amount. It turns out that Wagamamas' speciality; noodles, is not so special after all!"

"I went last night with my other half to his birthday and my newly diagnosed gf/df 9 yr old. oh my word, how nice to eat everything on the menu without worrying! probably best menu I have seen that allergens show. schirr for gf, df, paleo, vegan and children menu also, no complicated tabal calculations here (I look at them cafe rouge! eating was excellent, we shared garnel with smoked garlauch mayo to start, steak and poussin for net and mini-Rindburger and chickenburger for my daughter with sweet potatoes. the free filtered on-site stanch or foam water, the organic prosecco, which gave me no headaches, and the alcohol-free drinks without added sugar, sweeteners, preservatives or other additives. my daughter would put sugar on the ground if she could, but she loved her, and my partner was very pleased with the ice-cream glasses; one of his bugbears are bars/restaurants that serve cold drinks in warm glasses. for dessert were the vegan 'cheese cake' from this world, can not wait to taste all the aromen amazing food, friendly staff, beautiful decor. would recommend a visit whether they have special nutritional needs or not."

"DO NOT GO HERE! Service was ultra slow and staff do not appear care about their customers. Had a table booked but we were still made to wait with alongside those who had no bookings. After being seated, took ages for order to be taken done by memory rather than written so got one of the drinks wrong. Starters arrived after 40 minutes and were tepid rather than hot after another 45 min wait no mains so we questioned our waitress who instead of reporting back to us as to where our order was, proceeded to chat to fellow members of staff. After asking a second time, we were told that they did not know how long the wait would be. It appeared that the staff were prioritising take away orders. As we had no idea how long it would be until we would get our mains, we decamped to the opposition and vowed never to return to this restaurant again. PS The next restaurant seated us immediately, took our order promptly and served it within a very acceptable timeframe. Looking forward to Zizzi Kingston's response to this appalling customer service"

"The food was overpriced and not good. The toilets were disgusting. One bartender blatantly ignored us when we went to the bar to order, he was more interested in putting glassware away as slowly as possible than helping guests. However, the other bartender was very friendly and helpful. Honestly, the food was a joke, it would take too long to write up a review of how awful each individual dish was as we were a table of 7. We went to the pub for quiz night, and that bit was fun. But I do not recommend eating there! Total waste of money combined with dirty, horrible toilets, might put you off eating for awhile."

"Four of us for lunch on Sunday. Booked online. Management unilaterally cancelled it by email. Called to ask why. Something to do with the football. They thought we might be trying to watch it with declaring that we were doing so. Told him we weren’t. Completely unapologetic about cancelling without a phone call. Managed to negotiate our booking back. Bizarre. Food very poor indeed. Would strongly not recommend lots of good pub food in the area. Drinks good and reasonable. Staff generally friendly apart from this manager. Said he would hit us over the head with his book if were still there at 5.30 on account of the football. We told him, yet again, that we would not be and indeed we were not. Poor experience."

"I went to this location with my guide dog and was given a hard time by an employee and later by the manager. Upon entering the restaurant, I was asked to provide documentation for my dog, which is illegal under the Equal Rights Act, and my girlfriend calmly explained that no documentation is required for assistance dogs. After we sat at our table, the manager came over and was extremely rude and confrontational. Her sister is apparently a guide dog trainer, so she was well aware that I was blind and of what a guide dog is, yet still felt the need to harass my girlfriend and I, telling us that we were wrong about documentation not being required to bring my dog into the restaurant. She only relented after calling her boss and being shown the laws by my girlfriend. At no point did she try to educate herself before confronting me. Being confronted by an employee is bad enough, but the manager is supposed to be educated, and given her prior knowledge of guide dogs, there is really no excuse for her ignorance but more importantly her clear disrespect towards people with disabilities. I would hope one would think that someone with an actual guide dog would be aware of their own rights. Instead she was happy to challenge me and ruin my experience until someone else told her she was wrong. Other reviews call out how nice this manager was but apparently not if you're someone with a disability. All customers including minorities deserve to be treated with dignity and respect at all times. While I appreciate the gesture of apology of covering our meal, the damage was done, as after dealing with this issue time and time again there is an emotional toll that it takes. I will consider removing this review if I receive a formal apology from this manager and Nando's corporate, and if I have confirmation that training has been implemented across all Nando's locations. Until then, I think that people looking to dine here should be aware of what happened."
