"no damn case to negative opinions. The letter may be a little spitty and perhaps a little carilla, but it's not unorbited considering it's a tourist area. (says one that the caps at the price of Plaza Mayor de madrid, jajaja). You pay for eating well. I see it as a ****. Since the prices of everything have risen, I see it normal to increase in all business. Anyway, the prices are on the table. You can choose to leave if it's not your pleasure. the food is not taken from a fryer with reused oil. It is more, everything is fresh and for my drop, exquisite. different, because almost everything is vegetarian (not vegan), different flavors and very nice atmosphere. I've been treated terribly. the bar is small, cozy and very nice. it is noted that they invest in detail and quality. So I pay for it, if you get the fried and the bad and indotrial lids, it's not your place."

"Lovely setting near the sea and petty nice food. The croquettas could have been a little more meaty but the crust was good. The pulpa was excellent. Seems like the paella is a favorite as well. The lady and the gentleman of the house are very friendly, the younger waitress could do with a smile... (we have been here several times in the last 6 months and she doesn 't really seem to enjoy her job). I would recommend though 'coz it is a nice place to hang after a visit to the beach."

"whenever we go to San josé is a must visit in this restaurant, its quality in meals, friendly staff and a fantastic atmosphere, makes us feel at home, and every year innovates anything either in kitchen or in the room and that says a lot of a establishment. I recommend it!"

"We had 7 clients in our Finca who wanted lunch every day. We contracted with Bar la Hoya to pick up a different lunch selection every day. And every day this lunch was excellent, beautifully cooked, wrapped up with great care and devoured by our clients! We will be offering this take-out service to our future clients from now on!! Thank you very much, Gregorio and all the team at Bar la Hoya. Antonia Riley, Director, Finca los Tigres"

"impeccable, nothing more to say. customer service was excellent. the restaurant staff was a charm with us and they know well what they do, real professionals. In the culinary issue, the pizzas we ordered were really rich. One of the details that I got the most is how they can combine the Italian tradition with some innovation; an example of this is the pizza with sheep cheese, panceta and apple — which was delicious, the truth. with all this said, I strongly recommend you to visit them if you ever go through Saint Joseph. It is advisable to book or call the restaurant itself to avoid waiting times."

"We were staying at the pension and in making our reservation were pressured to make a dinner reservation there. We saw that there were only a couple of tables occupied on the outdoor terrace, which had a nice view of harbor but would occasionally have a wave sweep over it. The waiter showed us a list of all the fish that were available. We sat down and were shocked at the price of the seafood. I'm sure that they had very few on the premesis but shared a source with the other couple of restaurants in town, so probably not fresh. We decided to try a couple of very overpriced starters. Breaded fried chipirones (squids) for 14 euros!! (normally around 6) and sardines for 9. The waiter was surly and had to be asked 3 times to bring us our water and wine. The food came and was at best dissapointing. The Chipirones were greasy and falling apart (probably frozen even though we asked if they were fresh, the sardines were funky, not fresh either. When you pay that much for a view, the food should at least be above average this was well below. I got up to pay since the 3 waiters for 5 tables didn't respond. At the cashier, the woman in charge of pension was at the till. she old me to get it from the waiter who sort of threw it at me."

"The reservation was a mess. They mixed up names and tables. When we finally got a table the waiter wasn't very good at explaining what dishes they had. It wasn't a language problem as I am fluent in Spanish. We asked gluten free and he didn't take it seriously. Then he took us various grilled fish cooked with wheat flour. No comment. No wine list. No gluten-free beer, of course. He seemed to forget us for dessert and finally I went to pay myself as he didn't even come with the bill. All in all very poor service and such a good meal. The first and last time."

"We, 2, stumbled upon this restaurant looking for lunch. We were greeted warmly by Fatima. We sat out on the veranda. Restaurant practices distancing and hygiene due to the Corona which was very much appreciated. We drank beers and wine. I ate the eggplant with Honey and later the mixed paella. My husband ate a salad and later the lasagne. The restaurant has a 3 course menu for the Price of 11 euros. REALLY tasty food. Huge portions too. Very relaxing environment. Thank you so very much for your service. And yes, Fatima spoke Good english. RECOMMENDED!!!"

"We went to dinner in a holy week, we were 11, and the pizzas and the great gnoqui. but two friends asked for pasta with a sauce that was from squid and tomato and the truth that the tomato was totally crude and the squids seemed gum. weird because as I say, the pizzas were very good and the gnoqui with spectacular truffle. reasonable price."

"Our Sunday morning began with a 30 minute drive from San Jose to La Fabriquilla for a kayak tour. We enjoyed paddling around the cliffs and snorkelling from the shore, although the wind had been picking up for several days disturbing the sand so our views of the myriad coloured fish were a little dulled Hungry, we drove back up the coast to La Isleta for lunch. The restaurants and bars with ocean views were packed so we retreated to Plaza de Escollos near our parked car, selecting the second last terrace table at Cafe Bar Calagrande A complimentary dish of fried sardines and the customary green olives arrived as soon as we ordered drinks. Our host was very vigilant, observing all tables and being extremely responsive to customers ' needs. We discussed our menu choices with him and settled on dishes of calamari and RAF tomatoes [RAF 's legendary status being highlighted by our hotel receptionist, advising any tomatoes under 6 euro per kg purporting to be RAF were likely fakes] The grilled calamari was fabulously fresh as if leaping from the sea, despite its anchor of fried chips better those had been served in a side dish. Better still a small side salad of freshly julienned raw veg Our tomate RAF with olive oil and raw garlic was a generous dish that would be better presented in layered slices with thinly slivered garlic and a black pepper grinder on the table beside the olive oil bottle, with a little artisan bread instead of the generic soft style common in Spain Locals were still arriving to start lunch at 3 pm when we left contented"

"Called in for lunch, they were open but do not serve food until 13.30. We ordered chipotle which are baby squid a big squid, I think they were taking advantage of us being British and assumed we wouldn’t know the difference! I can’t eat the large squid so this was left to my husband. The fried fish was only ok and not what you would expect from somewhere that gets good fresh fish daily. All in all a disappointing lunch and quite expensive for what we had. There are better places to eat."
