"Restaurante con muy buena ubicación. Hemos ido a comer un arroz. Hemos pedido unos entrantes (chopitos y calamares, muy ricos), y una paella de carabineros melosa. El arroz nos ha llegado más bien caldoso, con solamente dos gambones y dos carabineros congelados. La ración de arroz sale a 27 eur pp. El arroz no estaba nada rico: pasado, sin sabor a carabinero, con el poquito marisco contenido visiblemente de procedencia congelada. Me hubiese gustado ver en el menu el símbolo adecuado para indicar los alimentos de procedencia congelada, para decidir si querer gastas 58 euro en un arroz para dos, con marisco del sirena! Al entrar hemos pedido si tenían tronas y nos contestaron que no. Me sorprendió esa respuesta porque es un restaurante familiar. Hemos visto más tarde tronas en otras mesas… Hemos pedido el rodaballo para los niños. Ese filete estaba fresco, bien cocinado (mucho ajo y pimentón), algo fuerte para los niños..La cocina no modifica algún plato de la carta (hemos pedido si fuera posible tener algún pescado rebozado y no fue posible). Servicio de mesa correcto, algo desbordado y estresado. Buen servicio de pan con salsas. Hemos pedido pan para dos personas, en el ticket salía para tres. He pedido una rectificación de la cuenta, y la persona que nos atendió no estaba tan convencida a rectificar me ha preguntado si nos lo habíamos comido tres veces y tres veces he tenido que contestar que no. Cuenta de 140 euros para dos adultos y dos niños. No hemos pedido platos baratos, pero no mereció la pena… incluido el momento de debate para una rectificación de un error en el servicio. Hay mejores opciones en Oropesa para comer y cenar."

"Looking for a special restaurant to mark the end of our son's 10-day holiday with us, we were recommended Restaurant a Roda as a place locals frequent away from the more touristy venues along the seafront at nearby Concha Beach. We were pleased we followed the advice as our party of three enjoyed an excellent and reasonably priced dinner. We were particularly pleased that we were not the only diners, though being an out-of-season Thursday evening, it was still sparsely populated. Despite that the atmosphere was convivial and our waiter was welcoming and attentive, even though he couldn't speak English and our Spanish is virtually non-existent. We chose our starters of calamares a la Romana, a house salad and a plate of Iberico ham but the waiter, noting that they were for us individually rather than for sharing, adjusted the portion sizes and prices to reflect this, which we thought showed excellent consideration for diners' needs. My son and I had entrecôte, which was huge and beautifully cooked and served in a sauce of our choosing. My wife also said her lemon sole was superb and she would definitely choose it again if we ever return. We were slightly disappointed that our first choice of wine was not available but the (cheaper) alternative was really delicious and quaffable so no complaints there. There was also no solomillo available and the waiter admitted the pudding menu was also a bit restricted, though the flan and tarta Santiago we had were home made and delicious. With drinks, including a large gin and tonic, a bottle of Rioja, mineral water and coffees, the total bill came to just over €112 which we all agreed was great value. Diners looking to get off the tourist track should certainly include Restaurant a Roda in their itinerary for an authentic taste of Spain. Muy bien."
