"After a short wait, we were treated to a starter platter that included chicken tikka, pakoras, wings, onion rings, garlic mushrooms, and more. Once we finished the starters, we made our way to the buffet, which was located in a corner of the restaurant. There were 7 or 8 curry options, some vegetarian dishes, along with chips and naan bread to choose from. After the curry course, we also helped ourselves to dessert from a refrigerator in the same area. On the positive side, the restaurant was clean and well-maintained, and the food was excellent and of high quality. I noticed that the buffet dishes were not overly full, which I think is a good sign—it indicates that the kitchen is attentive and the food is fresh. The selection was impressive, as many buffet restaurants typically offer only 3 or 4 curries, but this one had a wider variety. The service was exceptional. Our waiter was polite and helpful, and he made us feel very welcome. Regarding pricing, there is a set buffet option that includes free drinks and tea/coffee for £19.95, but we opted for the basic buffet (drinks not included) at £10.95. Since we visited on a Saturday, we paid £1 more than we would on a weekday, but for two large Cokes and everything else, we spent just £27 in total. Additionally, children can eat from the buffet for just £5.95, making it one of the most affordable restaurants around for such quality. On the downside, and I’m being quite picky here, I didn’t notice it as much as my partner did, but some traditional Indian background music would have made the atmosphere perfect instead of George Michael playing. However, this was a minor point and certainly didn’t ruin our evening. In summary, the Taj advertises itself as the best Indian restaurant in Paisley, and I believe they are correct."
