"After a lovely canal walk we had lunch at the Windmill. The vibe was warm welcoming tradional pub but bright and fresh just what we were after. It had a designated doggy dining area which we prefer, we had two with us. There was a help yourself treats station! Water bowls were offered on arrival. The pies were fantastic, out of this world! The bubble and squeak starter and chicken liver parfait very good too. Only reason 4 not 5 stars is one of our group thought the peri peri chicken burger could do with a bit more peri peri but that is personal preference, but I have to stay the cheese pie I had was next level! Staff were so helpful and naturally friendly. And a good amount of parking. It was a glorious day so we did have to wait a couple of mins for a free space but nothing crazy. We are not local, we came for a sunny canal walk with friends and have decided we will definitely return here again! Expectations should be good British village pub with excellent pub grub, thats super dog friendly perfect for walkers all around."
