"I had what turned out to be a very disturbing experience with the Mango Tree. My first time using and on recommendation. So, I ordered through their website, receiving a confirmation at 17:51 and that it would be 100 mins. I followed the progress and...it was stuck on cooking for some time, at 20:17 I called and was told my order was being packed. At 20:25 I decided this was all a little unacceptable and called back to cancel. I was fed lots of excuses about geographical area (I live a 3-4 min drive away) and that they had had more orders before mine to fulfil. The call ended very unpleasant, I called them f-in useless and requested a refund and they agreed. This is when things took a turn for the worse. at 20:45, 20:46 and 20:47 I received 3 calls whilst someone was banging on my door and windows. This went on for 10 mins, the knocks getting more aggressive. I did not answer as I didn’t know what would happen. I blocked the caller (a text saying your food is outside Mango Tree and a tree emoji was sent too). They even tried my front door handle, this freaked me out. I had requested that the food be left on the step (as I paid online) not to mention I had cancelled. After 10 mins the person went away taking the food with them, only for someone to return 40 mins later, this time the knock was normal, I shouted out and they said they were leaving it on the step. I didn't have it in me to discuss it was cancelled. I live on my own and this experience left me quite anxious. I will never use them again and as I was on a video call with friends who could hear the ferocious banging on my windows and door, they too are boycotting this takeaway. Apologies this is nothing to do with the food, but I want to ensure that nobody else goes through such a terrible customer experience. The food as you can imagine was cold!"

"my friend and I went there at the weekend and we had hühnerburger and highest hühnerburger and pommes. overall it is fast to fix, eating was fresh and the staff was very friendly. food: eating was fresh and imaginable. they get what they pay for. I am in the very fussy with food, especially when meat is involved. that was just too perfect. no pink flesh be thankful on a very important note it is halal. cleanliness: the place was so clean when we visited what is very important when it comes to eating. staff: the staff was very friendly and helpful, which is soou important again when it comes to customer service. When I asked for red salt for my chips, the guy was so generous. price: we had a chicken super burger (the burger, chips, and a chicken burger on our own. we only paid about £8.50, which is very fair. so technical it is cheap. the size when the burger is more on the small size, but I was full anyway place: it is veeerrrry conveniently located because it is only on friargate and very close uclan. it is also so bright (good for taking selfies). suggestions: this is only my personal opinion and please feel free to ignore it. many other takeaways offer the same type when food and more or less the same taste everywhere in the opposite to kfc for example. they have their own apron and what not. 1. One thing I would recommend is maybe a special sandwich that only they can make. something that does not already exist in the market. 2. maybe also a lot of sauces? if they already have them, may they offer to customers? or make them visible? a customer can't necessarily know that they have sauces, or maybe shy to ask? Yeah, but I want to try her pizza next time."

"Came today with my 3 and 1 year old and their grandma for lunch before we went to Kinderhub next door. I always feel anxious about taking them out in case of tantrums etc as they are so little and obviously no concept of how to conform socially in that environment but knew it was a family friendly pub. Ordered them meals off kids menu and the staff kindly accepted requests to serve on a plate to cool quicker. The food was fine and as you’d expect for the venue and price. After eating the kids got restless and had had enough of colouring. I decided to let my 1 yr old stretch her legs and the eldest followed. It was a quiet day and only a few tables seated. They were walking round the entrance and looking at fruit machines. Other diners commented how cute my little girl was toddling as she was learning to walk. My eldest had a quick cheeky dash behind the bar when no staff were there and I quickly called him back. An older man then spoke to me as we passed his table on way to get our coats and asked that I take my children elsewhere as they were trying to have a quiet meal. I commented the children had been seated and quiet all thoroughout waiting for and eating their meal and that is was a family friendly pub serving kids meals. His response was that it was a restaurant with a bar (I would dispute) and that I should take them next door. I commented I was but it wasn’t yet open and there is nowhere to wait or play outside as the pub nor next door has outdoor play areas. He commented I should leave and I was very upset and shocked. I informed the male and female staff and they were lovely, they commented the children had not bothered them and offered them halloween sweets and encouraged us to stay. I have been left upset and ruminating on this all day as it is already stressful thinking about taking little ones out when you never know how they’ll manage these types of environments and I would rather let them explore safely with me than sit on screens. The pub was very quiet which is also why I allowed this. However it was very much helped by the kind staff and the gesture of the sweets left me feeling welcome and I would definitely return so thank you"
