"This turned out to be a great place for beer and lunch. The beers on tap are from the local brewery which were good. They have a lot of other alcoholic drinks available as well if beer isn't your thing. As for the food, both dishes were delicious. The smoked trout was very balanced between the smokiness and natural flavor of the fish. The lamb kebab was amazing, the lamb itself had great flavor and tasted good without the herb sauce provided (which was also good). The vegetables and the fries were just as good, the natural flavors of the vegetables bringing out the lamb flavor. Definitely a good place to grab a bite to eat."

"Wir waren rundum zufrieden. Das Lokal entdeckten wir durch Zufall auf dem Weg zum Galgentor. Die Speisekarte ist schön übersichtlich, es wird sich auf das wesentliche konzentriert und das dafür sehr gut gemacht. Wir bestellten Nudeln und Pizza, beides war sehr lecker und kam nach kurzer Zeit. Der Pizzaboden schön kross, die Nudeln al dente. Die Bedienung war nett und wir wurden direkt bedient. "Kinder sind hier nicht willkommen. Wir waren hier zu Dritt vor einigen Tagen zum Essen. Ich habe bereits vorher einen Tisch reserviert und auch ein Kind angemeldet. Bei Ankunft wurde mein Sohn allerdings schon kritisch angesehen wobei ich mir in dem Moment aber dachte ich hätte mir das nur eingebildet. Daraufhin bekamen wir einen Tisch und mein Sohn hat sich hingesetzt und dabei das Dekotuch etwas verschoben. Erneuter kritischer Blick vom Wirt, der es gleich wieder zurecht gerückt hat bevor er uns die Karten gab. Ich habe noch schnell meine Jacke ausgezogen während der Wirt bereits die Karten an den Tisch legte. Mein Sohn war natürlich neugierig und hat sich eine angesehen, entdeckt, dass die Karten in Klarsichtfolien drin sind und wollte eine rausholen. Der Wirt kam zuvor und hat einige no von sich gegeben. Daraufhin habe ich meinem Kind die Karte aus der Hand genommen. Natürlich hätte ich auch dafür gesorgt, dass die Karte in der Folie bleibt allerdings war ich wie erwähnt in dem Moment mit meiner Jacke beschäftigt. Als wir nun endlich saßen, Getränke bestellten und uns über die Pasta unterhielten auf die wir uns dank der Bewertungen so freuten, spielte mein Sohn in normaler Lautstärke mit seinem Auto am Tisch. Das empfand der Wirt wohl bereits als störend. Er kam an unseren Tisch und erklärte mir, dass mein Sohn leise zu sein hat. Ich meinte darauf ob er störe? Nein, aber er muss lernen das ist ein Restaurant. Und in Restaurants muss man sich benehmen. Es gibt hier andere Gäste Ich fragte also ob sich jemand beschwert hat, er sei nunmal 4 Jahre alt und Kinder spielen eben. Wie erwähnt war er zu dem Zeitpunkt wirklich nicht laut. Die Antwort war nein es hat sich niemand beschwert aber mein Sohn muss lernen. Das ist ein Restaurant. Daraufhin haben wir entschieden zu gehen. Die Atmosphäre war nun eh zerstört und ich konnte mich dort als Mutter nicht entspannen. Andere Restaurants haben nichts dagegen, wenn ein Kind am Tisch der Eltern ruhig mit einem Auto spielt bis das Essen kommt. Hier habe ich den Eindruck Kinder sind nur willkommen, wenn Sie vor das Handy oder Tablet gesetzt werden und somit ruhig gestellt sind. Zum Essen kann ich leider nichts sagen und wir werden sicher nicht nochmal herkommen. Egal ob mit oder ohne Kind."

"This restaurant is located in the Hotel Burggartenpalais an old castle-like building. We chose this restaurant for dinner because it is just a bit away from the tourist traffic and located closely to the surrounding city wall. The inside atmosphere was calming and relaxing, and...the service was friendly, and attentive. Sipping local Secco, we studied the menu and decided to share several small plates instead of ordering an individual meal. Great decision. We started with a colorful fresh mixed salad and went on to indulge in two outstanding dishes: the smoked salmon and a vegetable cheese noodle dish. Highly recommend this restaurant. After we ate, we meandered through the nearby tower and took an evening stroll outside the city walls. Breathtaking."

"well, we thought this was a good place for dinner, based on the reviews we had read on tripadvisor. we were very disappointed. the wine was good and saved the evening. we arrived for the first sitting and knew that we had until we thought we had more than enough time to dinner. the first contact with waitstaff was positiw. he was helpful in answering questions and his wein recommendation was on site, but the food was best little more fun. the pumpkin soup was watery with pumpkin pieces and for the net (which came a long time), we were less than impressed. I ordered the wild boar living in prag, that is a not unusual dish, but what I got was not what I expected. instead of pieces of meat, the court consisted of what seems to have been clean and naive. that is not what was written on the menu. not a fan, so that this has rather spoiled the dinner. if it was actually meat, then I don't have any more comments. my friend, who ordered the carving, said that the coating was too salty and not after its taste. but we thought there was always dessert or at least more wein! Well, that could have been true if we hadn't waited so long for our head, or that we would ever come a waiter and ask ourselves if we wanted something. When we approached, they came by to pay our bill. the waiter was uncommunicated and unfriendly. in fact he has processed our bill without word to one of us. in rothenburg there are certainly better places to eat."

"Very good, from the reservation to the adoption! Unproblematic telephone reservation, where we kindly indicated that only cash payment is possible. The food was very delicious from appetizer to dessert and of good quality. The portions were sufficient. The ambience is rustic and cozy. After payment we left the place without seeing an employee as they were busy. No 5 meters from the restaurant, the boss came after us and passed us very friendly. Only recommended!"

"This small and extremely fine house in Rothenburg ob the Tauber is a true pearl!!!! The feel-good atmosphere begins when opening the entrance door. Rarely we felt so welcome. A city plan was handed over to us at a cozy welcome swallow and the most important sights were explained. While an employee took care of the parking of our car, we could already obtain our beautiful double room Butterfly. A dream of cosiness and tasteful furnishings. After a first tour through the city we found our beds covered and a small sweet welcome greeting (a warm thank you for it and our compliment to the lady who makes these chocolates by hand. They taste excellent!!! The dinner was also fantastic starting from pumpkin snacks and Carpaccio to the beef fillet and desserts variation. After a beautiful but long day we sank into the comfortable beds to enjoy an excellent breakfast next morning. Dear Mrs Wörle we would like to thank you and your team for a wonderful weekend with outstanding service!!! Every visitor of the city is recommended your house on the hottest!!"

"the weing “Zum Powderer” stands on the inside of the burgtor. we were looking for such a rustic traditional hoist to get familiar with the Franconian cuisine and the local wine. ambience cleanliness the interieur corresponds to what one imagines among a weinbar. many dark wood, stable tables and chairs as well as wooden benches on the walls. tonkrüge auf regalen, alte fotos an der wanden und ein fluofen in der mitte, to have warm in winter. everything somewhat yellowed and dusty, but somehow spontaneously sympathetic. in front of the house there are some tables on the outskirts where you can enjoy beautiful weather and see passing tourist. cleanliness was good. Operation after the environment, they are treated as if they have always been. the table candles were also illuminated in the same way, they feel secret. the two ladies from the service had something to do, but it ran smoothly. food drinks the menu is manageable and you need to download it via QR code for coronary time. so a contagion source falls, why not. there are mainly Franconian dishes and bread plates. as they are in the wine and beerland, the drink card is sufficient to offer both. we decided: · cheese soup · redhenburger crÃ1⁄4schtchen (or so similar) · kilt kartoffel with smoked salmon and salat · baked apple rings with vanilleeis we first drank a natural beer (from the bottle coming) and later fine franconian riesling and silvaner. the cheese soup as an appetizer was highly recommended. creamy thick she comes into the peasant broth and I made the broth lid tasted. Moreover, the brothy can always be carved a little while spooning, making the suppe even more rich. an original thing. my main dish consisted of two pork steaks with bratkartoffels, roasted whistles and roasted eggs on bauernbrot. a good basis for the evening weeping. the flesh was tender and exceptionally juicy, I think it was a happy swarm. the bratkartoffels are slightly crispy and not too dry, to tenderly roasted tweepers. a very powerful thing, as it fits into the weeping room. the ofenkartoffel of my wife was also delicious, with clean crumbs, smoked salmon and salatset. though not necessarily Franconian, but what does it do. there are three sharp, acidic apple rings with sweet vanilla ice cream and a little saw. now jump easily, but why are all chic rolls on the piano? as a baggage, there is a mild silvaner brandy and a tumble-bearing willi. a rustic dinner as a basis for good beer and delicious wine. here it goes in a beautiful family and without corona they would certainly be even closer together in the angled salon. Anyway, it was a beautiful evening."

"Man have I missed great quality Japanese food! I lived in Japan for 2yrs and this was the best quality and tasting Japanese food I've had since living there. Everything was delicious! I went during lunch time on a Saturday and it wasn't too busy but I did have to wait a bit to be seated and eat (was there for 2hrs). As a solo traveler on my own time, this wasn't a big deal to me, but if you have plans definitely give yourself sometime. Definitely visit this hidden gem if you get the chance to and have some time. "Ich habe mit meinem besten Freund ein paar ansonsten wirklich tolle Tage in Rothenburg verbracht und als vermeintliches Highlight waren wir im Am Platzl. Leider haben wir uns von der hohen Bewertung täuschen lassen und nicht erkannt dass der Großteil der fünf Sterne Bewerter die erste Bewertung abgegeben hat. Lieber Herr Toth: auch wenn wir es erst im Nachgang realisiert haben sollte Sie mal darauf achten, dass Sie nicht in den Bewertungen, die Sie selber für sich schreiben, um die negativen. Bewertungen auszugleichen, die selben gravierenden Rechtschreibfehler wie in ihren Kommentaren zu eben diesen negativen Bewertungen haben. Aber beeindruckend wie hier der Wirt und die Küche (wohl auch alles in Personalunion) gelobt werden.. Schon nach dem Gruß aus der Küche war eigentlich klar wie es weitergeht: ein geschichteter Butterberg zugeschüttete mit Paprikasalz, dieses natürlich hausgemacht….. danach Vorspeisen und Hauptgänge alle mit diesem Salz und Remouladensauce garniert und gewürzt waren. Gemüse verkocht, Fleisch lag mit Brühe (Sauce war das kaum zu nennen) auf dem Teller. Kleiner Tipp: Unbedingt sofort was unterlegen, da meinem Freund die Brühe direkt auf die Hose gelaufen ist. Falls ihr überlegt dorthin zu gehen unbedingt die Kommentare der niedrigen Bewertungen lesen, die sind ehrlich und treffen ins Schwarze….Ach ja und habt Bargeld dabei. Auch wenn es nirgends steht kann man nur mit Bargeld bezahlen. Sehr ungewöhnlich, passt aber und liegt sich nicht am defekten Lesegerät…."

"Wir waren schon ein paar Mal hier Essen und sind immer wieder begeistert. In dem Restaurant ist es dunkel und man isst bei Kerzenschein, eine ganz urige und romantische Atmosphäre, auch für besondere Anlässe geeignet. Der Service ist sehr schnell und sehr freundlich. Man fühlt sich rundum wohl. Reservierung ist auf jeden Fall anzuraten. Die Karte ist klein und fein und wir waren mit dem Essen sehr zufrieden. Auch die Preise sind sehr fair. Einziger Wehmutstropfen: Es gibt keine Nachspeisen auf der Karte. Wir freuen uns schon jetzt auf unseren nächsten Besuch in diesem besonderen Restaurant!"

"The meals (Schnitzel & Spätzle and Schweineschäufle & dumplings) were large in portion and for a reasonable price, served quickly. The taste was good, as expected, but no "ohs and ahs".. The typically German wooden interior and charming atmosphere does it all for you, really! What decreases my rating to a 2 for is the lack of interest and accurate behaviour from the staff, sadly. They are efficient, cutely dressed and all, yes, but STRESSED and they do not really seem interested in making the guests comfortable and happy. And: Half way through our meal one of the waitresses changes my husband's (empty) glass of beer and it accidentally smashes into my 3/4 full glass of beer which falls and breaks into small glass pieces all over; onto our table, my half-eaten dinner and onto the floor and my jeans and shoes. Reaction? No excuse!! The waitresses look at me, with sour faces (as if I was the one making trouble) and just help each other to clean things up and pours me a new 3/4 full glass of beer! No question if I wanted a new meal (how could I be sure there was no glass in my half-eaten meal?) No additional offer of free dessert/coffee or something else to make up for my ruined dinner experience, no discount when we paid.. I'd say: "Nie wieder" as they say in Germany!"

"Super cute and dainty place!!! They had a handful of vegan/vegetarian options which we really appreciated! "This restaurant located inside the same hotel name Kloster Stuble, more easier to find by hotel address on a small street off Herrngasse near the castle garden. This is a classy place for delicious and beautifully presented traditional cuisine (more dishes specialize of Franconian recipes than...Bavarian). This is the right place to try homemade Maultaschen soup. Maultaschen are a kind of large meat filled dumpling in Swabian cuisine. They consist of sheets of pasta dough filled with minced meat, smoked meat, spinach, bread crumbs and onions and flavored with various herbs and spices. Choose from their shaded terrace, sleek and stony modern dining room, or woody traditional dining room. Open Thu Mon 5:30 pm 10 pm, closed Tue Wed. Reservation required even if you stay as a hotel guest (as we are). The restaurant was full (outside) where we wanted to dine on Thursday on 5:30 pm and all evening long. The manager who made a reservation for us, asked to be on time, otherwise our spots they can hold only for 30 minutes. The price is slightly higher than mid range, but food was tasty and also we ordered the bottle of local wine, which was delicious (see a photo)."

"Absolut zentral gelegenes Hotel. Fußläufig ist alles ganz prima zu erreichen. Gegen Gebühr (was ja selbstverständlich ist) konnten wir das Auto parken. Auch dieser ist nahe zum Hotel gelegen. Freundliches Personal, das sehr bemüht ist. Das Zimmer war geräumig und sauber für meinen Geschmack jedoch ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen. Leider fand ich das Frühstück nicht wirklich gut. Es muss ja nicht unbedingt Buffet sein, aber ich bin der Meinung bereits vorgefertigte Teller mit einer Schreibe Schinkenwurst,, Salami und einer Scheibe Käse muss es auch nicht sein, vor allem mag ich keine Wurst und auch diesen Geschmack nicht, die einzige Scheibe Käse, war jedoch von dieser bedeckt und schmeckte daher auch danach. Leberwurst in der Dose und Kaffeesahne in kleinen Portionen einzeln verpackt und Schmelzkäse naja.... Man könnte doch den Gast vorher fragen, was er gerne möchte, dann würde man sich das auftischen sparen und evtl das entsorgen der Lebensmittel, welche ja bereits am Tisch standen und evtl auch berührt wurden. "Had lunch course outside. Absolutely recommend outside because ambience is very nice. At the reception desk when we walked in, the waitress behavior was somewhat impolite, like asking "Why you guys are here ?" , so my wife had to reply "We're here for lunch". I was little embarrased but just kept it by myself, because I didn't want to ruin my trip. Why would we be there except for lunch ? However, the rest of their service was not bad. Except at the end. the waitress made a mistake of giving me the wrong bill, so I had to pay twice. But that was just a mistake. Everything including soup was fine except the main, which was dorade. Dorade required more work. In the middle of the meal, they give you sherbet, which was refreshing experience. I knew that in French course they provide sherbet in the middle of the meal, but my colleague was surprised."

"We were here twice, the first time we were exhausted from the plane ride but did note that the bier was excellent. We went back another night and met up with an English couple (Pam & Peter) and had a great evening. This is one of the only places we could find to have a bier after 9:00. There were actually some locals there so it was not all tourists. The tavernkeeper (Daniela) was friendly and seemed glad that we enjoyed the bier. We did not eat here so I cannot comment on the food. This place is small but does have a biergarten in the back but we did not sit there as it was rather chilly."
