"No idea what has happened but this once great cafe was just awful. We arrived (3 of us) and showed to a table. The diner wasn’t busy, only 4 other tables of people. Given the menus and had just sat when a waitress came straight over to take our order so we asked for drinks and more time to decide on food. Drinks came a few minutes later along with the waitress insisting on taking our order now. One chose the Custom Breakfast for 7.95 with the extra single hash brown for 55p, one went with the Hillbilly Special for 9.95 and I went with the Vegan Green Feast for 8.50 and took out the avocado and had extra mushrooms. Immediately we were told to pay before we would receive our food, which at the time was fine with us. The wait for food was about 20 minutes, so not so bad. When the food arrived it was all stone cold. Even the toast was cold and barely toasted at all. In fact the vegan mayo was warmer than the rest of the food. The vegan feast was definitely not a feast, rather a splat of cold spinach, two half’s of obliterated and cold dehydrated tomato, some very cold mushrooms, two burnt vegan sausage things and some baked beans. My no means was this a feast in anyone’s eyes. The Hillbilly pancakes were cold and as hard as anything but what made us laugh was the advertised side of fruit was literally a thin slice of orange. Hilarious. The Custom Breakfast was cold and the scrambled egg had a weird flavour to it so was left. Whilst we were trying to get the waitress attention to ask why it was all cold another couple sat and ordered and told not to pay until they left. This made us feel we had been singled out as we were three young guys. My mint tea was acceptable despite the cup it was in was covered in smears. The coffee was bitter and a bit unpleasant. As we admitted defeat and left we asked the waitress about the payment and was told everyone has to pay before being served. We pointed out that the couple were told otherwise. As we got in our car a manager came out to ask what was wrong. We explained that the food was all cold and unpleasant and that we had felt singled out. She explained that everyone was supposed to pay upfront and it was a mistake that the couple were told otherwise. So that was ok. When we mentioned the poor food the lady said that the cafe was busy and that the waitress should have come over to check everything was satisfactory, this never happened. We used to visit this cafe with my dad and the food was always so lovely and hot and excellent value. I am honestly lost as to what has happened in the last 18 months that has resulted in such awful food. I doubt we will return which is a shame as the memory of what it used to be is so far from what it is now."

"So on arriving at your bar restaurant we were greeted by a lovely young lady that asked us to wait just a second while we waited for another person to greet us and ask our names, the first impression was that everyone was very pleasant and we felt quite comfortable. The person booking us in looked us up on the iPad and then said I'm really sorry I'm not sure what what room your in let me check on the group what's app. There were some alarm bells ringing however we are we are reasonable people so we accepted this and waited. After a couple of minutes the person dealing with us found out which room we were in and took us up a flight of stairs and showed us in. On first impressions the room looked like it had been recently done up but to be honest a poor standard. The most notcible thing was that the room was at an angle, it slanted at every angle, you could tell because the skirting boards were at different heights, the dressing table was physical wonky and the bed I almost rolled off off during the night. And just to mention the bed a again it was really noisy, creaking every time you moved and upon looking we discovered that there were loose screws. Also there is a step into the bathroom which caught me out twice and should be addressed. Upon looking up and down the street for local restaurants were decided the food was quite limited in battle high street, so we decided to eat where we were staying and I have to say this was our biggest mistake. I ordered the prawn cocktail and BBQ wings and my partner ordered the nachos. My prawn cocktail arrived with no source and I had to ask for lemon, the chicken wings were bland and pink in the middle(I have photos) the only saving grace was that the nachos were ok. But for the prices you charge and food that we received we were not satisfied. Although I will say that the did take off the price off the food we were not satisfied with there was no offer of an alternative so we both went to be bed hungry, in fact coming down for crisps because we were so hungry. The fact you charge ÂŁ14 a burger and expect another ÂŁ4 for fries is ridiculous. And the same for breakfast(which should have been included) you get breakfast for ÂŁ10 but doesn't include drinks but if you pay ÂŁ12.50 you get coffee and tea, this is obviously a rip off. The saga continues!! Although you are a busy bar especially as I can appreciate on a Saturday I was kept up until 12.40am by what appears to be staff members that you employ, shouting and swearing while we were both trying to sleep Surly as an owner you would respect the people that were paying ÂŁ110 a night to get good night sleep or not as it feels. And just to rub insult to injury when we left there was no one to say goodbye, did you have a nice stay all we got was a couple of guys outside smoking and when we did leave he went back inside to see if we had left a key. I emailed the manager and the response did not once mention an apology which made our experience more disappointing, a sorry goes a long way sometimes, Overall do not stay here if you want any type of customer service."

"Terrible service, bad food, over priced. We hesitated over booking The Gallivant as for a 4 star hotel, reviews seemed pretty low. In the end, we risked it it did look lovely after all. Firstly, the hotel is not on the beach but a main road, not so much of a tranquil haven. Really though, the problem was the service. Service was laughably terrible, the worst we have ever experienced despite being seasoned travellers. Some examples: on being seated for breakfast, it then took 40 minutes before someone took our coffee order. Tables on either side were having the same experience the couple to our left were told they couldn't even order breakfast as the kitchen was so backed up. The party of 4 to our right each received their coffee order at different times, half an hour apart; their food order was wrong and they had to wait for cutlery after their food had arrived. On checking out, we were double charged for some drinks that the night before, we had been informed, weren't possible to charge to the room as it was against policy. Luckily we kept the receipt but there was no grace dealing with the situation. Food is disappointing a menu trying to be fancy with poorly cooked food: chewy lobster, over cooked steak, and even when not very busy, a battle to receive a glass of wine to go with the meal. The overall atmosphere was staff who didn't want to be there and guests who were having a bad experience. Grossly over priced to top it off. Camber sands is beautiful but do yourself a favour and stay in an airbnb!"

"I've just had a delightful evening here with friends. Trinity has a cosy atmosphere, with friendly and attentive staff. The decor is tasteful. The service was exceptional and the food sublime. I started my meal with the Haddock chowder, which was so rich, creamy and comforting on this chilly December evening. It had beautiful flakes of lightly smoked haddock, fresh leeks and had just the right amount of seasoning. It was served with freshly baked bread. My main course was the slow roasted belly pork. It had lovely crispy crackling and the perfect amount of seasoning. It was served with absolutely delicious roast potatoes , a yummy pig in blanket and an array for beautifully cooked and presented fresh vegetables, a Yorkshire pudding and an unbelievably meaty, rich gravy. My final course was the utterly delightful raspberry and white chocolate semifreddo. What can I say? It was absolutely amazing. A gorgeous sweet semifreddo with large chunks of sweet white chocolate, which was offset by both fresh and freeze-dried raspberries and crunchy pistachios. An utterly delightful and delicious dish. The entire meal was an absolute triumph and a credit to the amazing chefs and kitchen team. The front of house team were absolutely lovely, they were friendly, professional, attentive and had a lovely sense of fun about them. You could see they loved there job. This was my first visit to Trinity. It will not be my last. I intend on making this wonderful bistro one of my regular haunts. It really was an excellent experience. I highly recommend giving this fabulous bistro a visit."
