"The warm welcome is a good start to the evening. the atmosphere is intimate (think to book), the card is salty, and it is only the beginning: put in the mouth, then arrives the meal. A delight! even for the vegetarian of the table, who was entitled to his personalized dish. nothing to say about these mastered dishes and the wine card is at the height of the menus. desserts are the icing on the cake.Compose at least forty€ per head for a full menu, but it's worth a lot. "for the second time I am enchanted with this coffee, which is atypical in the sense that it is called "coffee" and where it eats it as in a gastro. "On a visit to the hefaut cupola, we had booked this little restaurant (on tripadvisor reviews) for the noon.Although the photos of the interior decor had rained us...Effectively, when we arrived on site we were welcomed by the very nice boss/cuisto, the beautiful decoration, memories of old, the france of the beautiful era. My wife being intolerant to gluten, he was able to adapt to offer her a dish without allergens and especially without losing any flavors and careful presentation. Really happy and satisfied with this restaurant, have eaten well for cheap one must emphasize it. We'll go back there without hesitation."

"Very medium. the aperitives were good, the gallois too. On the other hand, the lamb coast is very fine and too cooked. Very white and not cooked bread. We made the note to the boss who stayed in marble for the Lamb Coast and explained to us that he chose the bread as well so that he would not harden. "Bar/bistro/restaurant in St Omer. One of many similar type of establishments in the main Central area of St Omer, nothing special, tons of chips to accompany you plat du choice, I had the mixed grill which consisted of 2 chipolata sized sausages which were very tasty, a small entrecote steak and 2 small pieces of chicken fillet (which were very dry), along with the ton of chips was a small side salad comprised of various lettuce leafs. As soon as we sat down I ordered a Ricard aperitif which never materialised, but we weren't charged for either so she obviously just forgot. We opted for the pichet of white wine which was fine just for quaffing but came in at 10 Euros. You'd think in France you could get a decent bottle of wine for that price, 2 days ago we stopped off at a supermarket and got a very palatable Bordeaux for 2.20, why such a mark-up in an average bar/bistro? The problem with St Omer is that the bistros/restaurants around the main square are very much of a muchness, so pick the cheapest one."

"I wish we had read the reviews on here before deciding to book as our experience mirrored many of the previous complaints. There are a couple of positives – we liked the garden and to be able to sit outside in Normandy is always a bonus. The home smoked salmon was tasty. But: Many items on the menu were not available – we were warned about the magret de canard and foie gras but that took a lot of choice from the menu. On ordering we found the poitrine de porc was also not available. As a non meat eater I accept my choices in French restaurants are limited but this is made worse when the starters and main courses are virtually the same. So after a smoked salmon starter I chose a salad terre et mer because the meat parts were not available and I asked if I could have extra langoustines instead. Not sure if I did but what I got was 4 langoustines and some more smoked salmon on a huge pile of virtually undressed lettuce (all the same type of tasteless green leaves) and a ¼ tomato. No lemon. Nothing else. And then to finish off my disappointment the langoustines tasted sandy. Very unpleasant and I only ate the salmon. When the waitress (possibly the owner) came to collect our plates she saw my mostly uneaten dish, took a small intake of breath and said nothing. I am sure I am not the only person to have not eaten this salad. For the meat eaters their meat was tasty, served with chips and a tiny bit of salad but the filet mignon portion was very small. But no sauces and no garnishes on the plates of any sort. Likewise the amount of bread we were given was tiny. Yet the pictures on their website show far more interesting dishes with well garnished salads. We didn’t bother with desserts and still ended up paying €127 for 4 starters, 4 mains, house wine and an aperitif each. At best I could say passable peasant food but at fine dining prices. We won’t be returning."

"We have been on a two day cycle ride around Saint Omer and Ypres and decided we really deserved a good meal on our last night. We choose this restaurant based on the feedback on TripAdvisor and we were so pleased we did.The front of house service was impeccable from the moment we arrived where they knew exactly who we were (how did they do that!), to the recommendations of wine (sweet wine with foie gras was genius) and the steak was perfect.All food sources locally which is great to see. Try the bread, oh wow it's sooo good.I can not fault the evening and felt totally at ease and not rushed at all. If you like great food, wine and service this is your place to go."

"this restaurant had been recommended to us, but really the dishes were disappointing. The guts were half carbonized. I can't. After making remarks, it was said to us "usually we are told that it is not cooked enough." Uh yes .when even cooking it is an art! nicely a new portion has arrived..this time it is not cooked enough. Apparently, for the cook it's complicated cooking. The gratin potatoes served in terrine. prepared very early were soft pass on my dish, carbonate and its fries. .frites that had passed too many frying baths. Hard, marons, impossible to plant the fork. My carbonate, served as a terrine metal..trop salty...Breef this restaurant no longer deserves the many recommendations on the front...and when I told the waitress, we didn't think the tripes were gulls passed to the grid. She told us, well, we had to ask him, so bad memory for us. .we do not recommend this restaurant !!!"
