"I recently visited for breakfast with a friend. Having ordered our drinks and food it quickly became clear our choice to sit outside was an unwise one due to the number of wasps. We therefore picked up our order and asked a young waitress if we could sit inside due to the issue. She smiled and said of course, please sit where you would like. As the centre room was quite full with only larger tables left we walked into the room on the right to find a smaller table. We sat down and started our much awaited breakfast. Unfortunately, just after settling an older waitress walked in and very abruptly asked where we had come from and why we were sitting there. I explained that we had been outside, but due to the wasps we had come in, we had spoken to a member of staff and been told to sit wherever. The older waitress quickly snapped back at me that we had not been told that and that there was a function in that room later so we needed to move. I explained that it was fine for us to move, but there wasn’t any need to speak to us in such a rude tone. The waitress again snapped back, stating she was not being rude and we shouldn’t have been there and we needed to move. At this point I advised that actually I would rather leave if we were going to be spoken to in such a way, to which the lady just turned and walked away from us. As we were leaving I did speak to the lady behind the bar and said that we were sorry we had left our food and were leaving but unfortunately we weren’t prepared to be spoken to in such a rude way. The same waitress then stepped in again and said she hadn’t been rude to us to which my friend said ‘I’m sorry but you really were’. Clearly this waitress thinks this is a suitable way to speak to customers. Our visit was completely spoilt and not wishing to be insulted any further we left. I have never before been left so astounded and disappointed to the point of leaving a venue before I had barely started the meal I had paid for. We won't be returning or recommending them. I subsequently sent two emails to the manager advising of our awful experience, both emails have gone unanswered. Its clear customer satisfaction is not high on their list of priorities."

"We have been several times to this restaurant and have enjoyed it in the past. The other day we went and had the sushi sashimi platter and mixed tempura and they were fine. But we ordered green tea and were served Jasmine tea. When I queried this with the server (not Japanese no one who works there is Japanese) she said that that was all they had. I can assure you that Jasmine tea is not green tea and it is not good enough to put green tea on the menu and serve jasmine instead. The worst part of the meal was the beef ramen. Absolutely Horrible. In a creamy white soup with no flavour apart from cream milk? Something insipid and white in any case. I think the server said that it had blended tofu in it or something like that? I have lived in Japan for a year and worked in Japanese restaurants after that for over 3 years and I can assure you that I have never seen, or tasted anything like that. The beef in it was stir fried for goodness sake! 3 minute noodles you cook at home have more flavour. I heard a neighbouring table ask if one of the 3 dishes on their table was actually beef teriyaki so maybe the kitchen was having a bad day. After watching them take down the 'CASH ONLY FOR SATURDAY LUNCH ' signs and paying the added 10% service charge for 2 people at 1630 in the afternoon we will never return. I did feed back that the ramen wa not good enough as we left and the server said that they 'd tell the kitchen. Just don 't go, or if you do see if they 're serving green tea instead of jasmine and just don 't, whatever you do, order the ramen or you can always try it at home by boiling milk and adding instant noodles to that. Seriously that bad. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2 Recommended dishes: Sushi, Tempura"

"Pretty much the same as the previous review. We had booked for 2pm on a Sunday afternoon and turned up to see that the place was in darkness and locked up… this is despite the opening hours were 12pm until 10pm. So we knocked the door in hope that we would be able to go to our table. A guy it seemed was locked in from the inside and asked us through the window to knock the residents door next door (it seems we had woke them up). Eventually after a brief wait someone came down and opened up. We took our seats at the table and proceeded to order our food and drinks. When ordering our food, we were then asked if we wanted to write on the menu what we wanted!! (We obviously said no) Any normal restaurant would have a notepad and take orders but this wasn’t a normal restaurant! He then took our orders of which he decided to write down on the menu. After waiting 1/2 hr some of the food came out and did not meet expectations. The chicken soup was spilled everywhere when it came to the table and if it wasn’t for the reactions of the customer then it would of been all over his clothes. The crispy fried wantons were meant to be filled with chicken and prawns (according to the menu) but only had flavourings. The waiter could not explain why due to a language barrier between him and the chef. Things got worse when he started swearing and at this point people were still waiting for food 15 minutes after the others came. We told him we were leaving and to forget it. It’s only a matter of time before this place is closed. They can’t run a bath let alone a restaurant!"

"We left without eating our food. We had to sit in the main restaurant area as the Momo area wasn’t open not a problem at all and actually the atmosphere is lovely. The only bad thing was the music choice, it didn’t match the environment or ambiance at all. I think they were playing pop or something similar when really they should have chosen something that matched the restaurant. I was disappointed in the menu, it was a very small limited menu. I love ramen I have travelled the world tasting different ramen’s and this is by far the worst. First of all they didn’t have the protein advertised on the menu (can’t remember what it is now) and they offered me salmon instead which I wasn’t a fan of since I like traditional ramen. This was the first red sign for me. I asked them is that the only option, they said they can do chicken. Perfect. When the food arrives I was so disappointed. It was like an English pub take on ramen. If you know what I mean by that then you understand that the ramen was poor quality with little taste. I asked for chicken and the waitress informed me that they could do the ramen with chicken nuggets. Chicken nuggets!! I was literally in disbelief, what Japanese cuisine restaurant offers chicken nuggets with ramen. I said no to that, then the waitress went to talk to the chefs. She came back and said they can do roast chicken. I was quite apprehensive but said okay. It was SO tender and chewy I couldn’t eat it. With each mouthful I was regretting eating at all so I decided to not eat it and asked for it to be taken off the bill. My mother ordered a burger (not the Momo menu) and the beef was so dry she didn’t eat it. And my sister ordered a rice and chicken dish, which again seemed like an English take on the Japanese cuisine. They just poured so much sauce over her rice that it was all gooey and horrible to eat. She also didn’t eat her meal. We left leaving three means uneaten and went to a different Japanese place in Shrewsbury."
