"I stopped by for a drink on a Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere was really enjoyable. The staff were all very friendly and even took the time to talk to my young daughter, which was a nice touch. It was clear that the staff are well taken care of, as I overheard the chef offering them some food. This is always a good sign for me. I will definitely be returning to try their roast dinner soon! "today had the most amazing afternoon in the vintage bird bakery! we had bought a voucher for christmas and decided to use it for an Easter contract. I asked a gluten-free afternoon tea and was most impressed. the table was laid beautiful, the brot and the cakes were moist (the ones when they are gluten-free, they will know is not always the case) and nicely served and the service perfectly. I was most impressed with the love for detail! the berries and grapes that accompanied with the cake and salat and coleslaw, which accompanied the sandwiches, wraps and cheese muffin, added a fresh and healthier element. will be coming back soon"

"Wow!! What an amazing hot buffet Graham and Wendy provided for my 50th. We ordered the pulled pork with stuffing and crackling, mac and cheese with salads and sides. They complemented this with hot dogs for the kids. Every single guest said how wonderful the food was and they were right! It was delicious! Cannot recommend enough for taste, cost, attention to details and of course G&W themselves. Thank you Butties."

"We went to this restaurant for a Sunday roast to celebrate a birthday, but it seemed like it was the chef's day off. The food was not good and came out cold. We sent the roasts back, but they just reheated them under the grill and brought them back out on the same plates with the utensils still on. It was a really disappointing experience, from the food to the staff. We won't be returning. The price per person was £10–20, and we would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all as a 1."

"This, our local café, normally closes in the late afternoon about 17:00 this time of year; but occasionally it opens up on a Friday evening, until late, to provide a tapas evening with live music. These are occasions which we try to support as much as we can. Tonight was the latest of three such events that we have enjoyed supporting; it was also the last of the, I believe, four summer events have been held. The format, was as before, to stagger table reservation times to allow the kitchen to efficiently produce plates to order. This reservation system helps avoid what could be bottlenecks, that would surely result, if too many orders flood in at the more popular times. The menu is the same for all of these events; our preferences were again to the fore for certain plates, as follows: Chicken Skewers Greek style marinaded with yoghurt. Vegetable Spring Rolls with sweet chilli dip crispy, crunchy rolls filled with savoury mix of vegetables. Lamb kofta balls with tzatziki dip. Patatas Bravas crispy potatoes in a salsa brava with a creamy aioli. Skin on fries. It was once again a much enjoyed meal and, on this occasion, we had invited my Son to join us. He really enjoyed the plates and the atmosphere. Wine: we chose a bottle of the ‘Definition Pinot Grigio’ from north eastern Italy: very complex and much enjoyed: excellent. This bottle was my Son’s contribution to the evening (apart from, of course, his company). We followed that with a bottle of the ‘Pringle Bay’ Sauvignon Blanc from the Western Cape, South Africa: this was very good; wonderfully refreshing. My Partner and I paid for that one! Wine here is not too expensive, especially bearing in mind the quality. A note to say that the Patatas Bravas plate was excellent on this occasion, because the potatoes were indeed crispy. Our favourite plate, for all three of us, was however the ‘Vegetable Spring Rolls’. These were absolutely fabulous, such a great texture. If this plate was regularly featured on the menu, I am sure it would be a very popular choice. The provision of a sweet chilli dipping sauce is a masterpiece of culinary inspiration. The music for all of these events was a duo singing covers of popular songs accompanied by acoustic guitars. They use guitar mics to amplify the music an their vocals. On previous occasions the band have not been too loud; sadly tonight they were. There were times that we couldn’t hear each other speak, and my Partner had to twice ask the band to tone it down. There is a time and place for loud music and this wasn’t it."

"Amazing! Went here as my daughters choice for her 12th birthday. 5 adults and 5 children (6-53 yrs). Was early on a Tuesday evening so restaurant was nice and quite. Exceptional service and wonderfully attentive staff. Food was great. Kids loved the fresh pizzas, creamy carbonara, fresh baked bread and olives and the chocolate cake. Tagliatelle Marinara was fresh and delicious, linguine vongole was beautiful and the orecchiette was equally good. Overall, a great place for a family dinner, great food, great service and decent prices. Personally, I would like the decor to be a little more traditional (but that’s just my opinion) and the toilets could do with a rethink but a strong 8.5/10"

"We have visited this restaurant many times and cannot recommend it highly enough! There are different areas to cater to everyone's preferences, making it a great place for all. The garden is dog-friendly in the summer, as well as the bar area. You can choose to dine in the more relaxed bar area or the formal dining area. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. During one visit, a member of our party had specific gluten-free requirements, which were handled with care and plenty of gluten-free options were available. The menu is diverse with lots of choices, and the food was fantastic. We will definitely be returning soon!"

"I essentially grew up in this pub in my teenage years and 20s and came back here to have a meal with my parents some 20 years later. The decor basically hasn't changed since the mid 90s at least, but the atmosphere in this pub has always been very cosy, welcoming and modest. The food I had (the bacon burger) was really nice, tasty simple pub grub and good value too. Gets 5 stars not just for the nostalgia then. Vegetarian options: A number of vegetarian options available. Not quite so many for vegans though. Parking: Spaces are limited when the pub is busy, but there are plenty of quiet suburban streets nearby you can park up in."

"Just staying at Tortworth court nearby and thought we would try the most local pub for some food. I had the burger and wifey had the fish, unfortunately the chunky chips had to be replaced with skinny fries...not the end of the world, it's still potato Cheesecake for dessert, not bad at all, Service was good and quick. Seems like the waitress was the bar person too but she was chilled and polite and was coping fine...she hopefully has help when it's busier tho Overall it was a nice experience 5 stars from me Craig Barry VOG"

"I recently dined at this restaurant again after their reopening, and I have to say it's even better than before! The green curry is the best I've had in the UK, and the chicken breast in the Pad Thai was so tender, it was unbelievable. The lunch menu is very reasonably priced, they have improved the interior decor, and the staff are super friendly. This lovely local restaurant will definitely be a regular stop for me. It's important to support businesses on the high street. Service: Dine in."

"I was excited to revisit the New Inn after many years, as it used to be a favorite spot of mine. My group of 8 had pre-ordered at the request of the New Inn, but we were told 15 minutes after our booking time that our food was just being prepared. An hour later, our food still hadn't been served. After checking with the staff, the manager assured us that our order was next. Another 10 minutes passed before our food finally arrived. The gammon came with sides that we didn't like and were not mentioned on the menu. The portions were oversized, which was nice, but they were too much and off-putting. The salad trimmings were of poor quality. The fish in batter was enjoyed by those who ordered it. The main meals were okay, but I would have preferred better quality over quantity. We had to chase the staff for a glass of water, and even after being offered dessert menus, no one came to take our order. When we decided to follow up at the bar, the manager seemed more interested in finding out which staff member had failed to take our order than in solving the issue. The service was okay but could have been better, as no one checked on us after our meals were served. It seems like the staff could benefit from more positive training from a supportive mentor. When we asked for the bill, it took a while for it to be brought to us, so we ended up paying on the way out. It's a shame, as I had fond memories of the New Inn, but I am unlikely to return after this experience."

"We decided to try out this restaurant for a family meal and were welcomed warmly by the smiling team. The restaurant was quite hot and lacking air, which made our stay a bit uncomfortable. The food arrived quickly, but unfortunately two of the meals were warm instead of hot. The portions were generous and delicious, although some of the vegetables were a bit hard. The prices seemed a bit steep, especially £15 for a roast and £18 for a basic pizza. Overall, the service was polite but the prices didn't quite match up to our expectations."

"Been a few times to the Farmer’s Table cafe and usually never disappointed. I had one of the specials BLT Baguette, chips and salad and partner had Chicken burger, chips with coleslaw. Enjoyed our meals. We decided to buy two slices of Bakewell to take away and we were overcharged for them. Marked as £3 per slice but bloke (long hair) on the till insisted they were £3.25. Couldn’t be bothered to argue for the sake of 50p"

"My Wife took my mother out for lunch today and whilst the food and atmosphere was very good I must give comment to the poor automated phone line. I tried to call and pay the bill as a surprise for my wife and mother yet calling 9 times during a 45 minute period and all one could get is Clare an automated service transferring me to someone who could help........ but no answer. I gave many different reasons to speak to someone (including a need to make a large party booking) and in all cases failed miserably. Big shame as nice venue, nice food yet maybe missing out on business due to Clare automated phone system that clearly does not work."

"I celebrated my 59th birthday with my wife, daughter and the team at Henry's yesterday evening. We are frequent visitors, both for dinner and the Sunday buffet (take aways also) and are always made to feel so welcome to the point that we feel part of the Henry's Oriental family. We first discovered Henry's through friends back in 2011 and my wife and I, friends and family members, still enjoy the Henry's experience to this day. We have never been disappointed. The care and consideration for customers offered by Henry and his wonderful team (a special shout out to Zowie, sorry if the spelling is incorrect) is faultless and the food is, without fail, amazing. I can't thank the team enough for making my 59th birthday complete. Looking forward to celebrating with you on my 60th."

"Randomly stopped here with our twin boys for refreshments during a long trip back from Cornwall. The place is stunning and well- maintained, the staff are attentive and friendly and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. "Overall a good experience. Really good, efficient service when at the counter and staff all seemed great. Fish in comparison to other places isn’t as good, but the chips are the best I’ve eaten recently from a chip shop. They have that sweet new potato taste which gives them great flavour that is lacking in other chip shops. Overall, a really good meal and will be coming back regularly."
