"First visit to this pub. First of all the pub is beautiful inside and out. We were greeted by a friendly bar maid who gave us menus. Ordered two meals from the ‘classic’ section of the menu but barmaid couldn’t find the items on the electronic ordering system so said we couldnt order them which meant we then had to order other items from the menu which was disappointing. Alternatives were fine for the money (mash not great! . Shame there was such a mess up with the food we ordered as if theres a new menu in place they should ensure everything from the menu can be ordered to save disappointed to the customer. Again beautiful pub with open fire and would definitely visit again but please get your ordering system right!"

came to the George for a meal with my family. from the start the whole experience was excellent!!! service, atmosphere and food. would highly recommend. Best pub in Thornbury.

Doesn't look much from the outside but don't let that put you off! It's like a TARDIS inside, clean and well presented. Excellent food, with friendly helpful service at great value. Couldn't fault it and wouldn't want to. I can thoroughly recommend it.

Visited the Royal George with my brother and nephew. Was served in a timely manner by a very polite young lady Ordered a 2 course meal for £10.90 consisting of lasagne with salad and garlic bread followed by cheesecake. The lasagne was delicious and filling and I'll be back for more at a later date.

I just had lunch here, good lamb and the woman says it's the best lasagna she had. forget to mention that as a meal on the midday menu was surprisingly cheap. exceptional helpful and friendly staff. very beautiful garden also. the beer is in excellent condition. also for public transport and local shops handy.

visited for Sunday dinner today with our dog. very happy with the communication that was received after online booking, personally and fulfilling our needs. the greeting at the arrival (a few minutes before the official opening) was warm and welcoming. the service was still great during the meal and eating was really good, fast and hot. Obviously real dog lovers and we will definitely be back. Thank you.
