"Fondue in a typical Helvetic restaurant. I was sitting outside next to the fountain and atmosphere it was nice. I ordered mixed cheese fondue. Presentation it's nice. I thought ( as foreigner) that was coming different flavored stiles of bread, or nice garnished but it wasn't. So it's nice but definitely it's massive for one portion and one person and it can result nauseous after a while as there isn't variety. I will go back to Fondue Beizli but i will order others dishes. My suggestion to owner to prepare also half portion for solo travelers and improve the garnishing/ bread stiles"

"We ate inside, near the door, and felt very safe. The staff were all masked, and they required proof of vaccination. Service was prompt. My wife and I ordered fried black tiger prawns with fresh vegetables and jasmine rice, and I ordered fried momos (dumplings) filled with fresh vegetables and glass noodles. Neither dish was oily. The prawns were advertised as spicy hot, but they didn't taste in the least spicy to us. No problem: the restaurant also furnished a side dish of very tasty hot chili sauce that was fiery. We'll eat here again if ever we return to visit St. Gallen."

"By chance we had lunch at the trattoria again. Had 3 menus to choose from. But ordered a small mixed salad and a pizza. It went quickly, hardly any waiting time. Pizza was okay and had plenty of toppings. There was enough, but it didn't exactly blow my socks off (a matter of taste). My favorite pizzeria (wood-fired oven) is still Fontana Goldach!"

"Dark and cramped vintage interior. Slightly nervous and impatient service, always trying to force a smile upon themselves. Confusing menu options and daily specials. Good food, well executed cuisine bourgeoise, quality ingredients. My veal Zurcher Geschnetzeltes in mushroom sauce with a few pieces of delicious morel mushrooms was really excellent but the meat portion size was inadequate and the high level of saltiness did great damage to the overall balance . Rösti side was succulent. White Austrian wine by the carafe was OK. People seemed to enjoy. Keenly prices for the Swiss. One of the better places in this beautiful town."

"I think it's a shame that there is no changing table in the restaurant. You also have to change your child's diaper where the bar guests go to the toilet in the evening. On a wooden changing table without a soft surface. Given that this restaurant has been around for 10+ years, I find it very shameful. "There are many options to have dinner in St. Gallen, but the Focacceria is not only very good, but also lively, charming and with excellent service. Pasta is home made and the sauces are cooked perfectly to complement it; please try to gambas al ajillo (go for the big plate as they transport you to almost Spain ; oil is of top quality and the balance between the garlic and the red-pepper is perfect. It comes with (naturally focaccia, which is perfect to absorb the oil in every bite. For dessert we had the equivalent of café gourmand (sans café so we got a small portion of three deserts: the name in german is seelenschmeichler, which roughly translates like praise to the soul . The wine selection is ample and the staff is professional, attentive, happy, speak multiple languages, have traveled extensively, thus make the experience of having dinner a very enjoyable time. Highly recommended."

"Went there last night for dinner with 8 other people. My mixed salad was served without any dressing. I asked whether they have rooibos tea and instead of answering me, the waitress brought a collection a tea with a glass of hot water that I did not order. After I told another waitress that I did not order a tea in German, she asked me and? what is the problem? so I repeated myself I did not order a tea in English because by now I was upset how bad her attitude was) and then she turned to my friend and asked her in front of me so what does she want now? which I find extremely impolite. The food I found average, staff were unfriendly, one waitress was extremely impolite. I will not recommend this restaurant and definitely will not return."

"Beim Eintreten scheint es ein nett gestaltetes Kaffee, welches selbstgemachten Kuchen anbietet. Da muss man doch gleich probieren. Aber leider war beim Pflaumenkuchen gerade mal (maximal) eine Pflaume auf dem ganzen Stück so verteilt, dass man nur noch von pfaumenparfumiertem trockenen Streuselkuchen sprechen kann. Der Kuchen meiner Partnerin war etwas besser, aber auch nicht wirklich gut. Einzig der Kaffee hatte ein spezielles, exquisites Aroma und auch der Service war nett, deshalb noch zwei Punkte. Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ungenügend."

"EDIT2] Having been contacted by owner directly, I stand by my statement made before. However, I definitely see the effort to clarify this (maybe misunderstanding) and to make it better in the future. I am looking forward going there again and increase my rating here to 3 stars for the time being. /EDIT] EDIT] As the reply from the owner is incorrect, I have to reduce my rating by another star. It was me who ordered the tap water but I also drank more beer than water that night. There was one round where I asked for water, but not a beer, while a few rounds before I ordered only beer. The statement, that there were guests who were only ordering water is simply wrong. /EDIT] I would love to give Brauwerk a better review, because the place itself is nice, the staff is friendly, the beer is good, so is the food, however, the fact that they refused to get us an additional glas of tap water (at this moment, we have had less tap water then other drinks), even tough we had a three digit bill with food and drinks, is simply not acceptable. If we would have only ordered tap water, I would understand it, but not in our case."

"We were a group of 20 (18 students 2 teachers) who came in for brunch/lunch on a Sunday. The had plenty of seating is a reserved section for our large group. Tibits offered a large variety of different food for our kids to choose. Most of our students were happy and the teachers really enjoyed our meals. Some of our students did not like their food and did not finish their plates, however (hence 4 stars instead of 5)."
