"I have always been highly satisfied with the fish and chips at this restaurant in the past, but tonight we had to discard all of the batter on the fish. It was soggy and greasy, and the chips were only lukewarm. A big letdown. Delivery service was prompt and efficient, earning a 5 rating. The cost per person for dinner is typically between £10 and £20. Overall, I would rate the food a 2 out of 5. Despite this disappointing experience, I still recommend trying their Fish and Chips."

"first visit to recommended by friends and very glad to have discovered as beautiful meal. excellent selection of dresses that were chosen very difficult, but the waitress was both very knowledgeable and patient. we started on tempura veg, traveling chicken and salt pepper squid. and all were fresh, tasty and beautiful presented in a metal semi-comb. for our main courses we had a panang curry and chicken roast with cashew nuts and ananas. there was no problem at all in adapting this schirrs to also change some red chili from mild to medium spicy or some basilikum we both love. this is a small place and while we were there a series of people arrived, but were not able to be accommodated, so recommend booking to not be disappointed. despite numerous telephone orders, we were impressed with the speed of the meal that was right. we didn't feel too fast at all, but we also didn't feel that waiting was too long between the directed. we look forward to a return visit and rehearsal of some of the other dishes we have tried. an essential difference to the Thai restaurants in sutton and cheam is the extensive selection of appetizers, suppen and salads. I am often varying when too big a menu, but every dish we tried was delicious. next time we will not choose 3 starter, as none of us could finish our main course, just as we would like! super eating and service, easily accessible from the railway station. very recommended."

"Very much a 'hipster ' bar, based on the decor, drinks and food. It 's typical London alcohol prices and food prices, you won 't get change from a fiver for a pint, and a burger and chips will be £7 . Food quality is overall good the few times I 've eaten here. The bar is approximately 5-10 minutes walk from Sutton train station and is located next to the band stand and opposite Wilko 's. Ideally located to drop the husband off while you shop and join him later for a cocktail or beer and grab a bite to eat! There 's a good amount of seating on the high street directly outside the front, and a decent amount of seating inside so you 'll probably be able to get a seat even if you have to do inside. I 'd advise booking a table for larger parties or if you want a seat outside even it 's busy and the weather is nice. Shiner Sudtone has a limited selection of ales on draught that I believe rotate every few months, and always includes locally brewed beers which is good. There 's also a small selection of chilled beers which is much appreciated in the heat. I like to visit every now and again as it 's a bit less claustrophobic then the Spoons and more mature crowd. The bar also has a good selection of board games for those who want a cosy game and drink with friends away from home. Recommended."

"We celebrated my Nan’s 60th wedding anniversary, unfortunately my grandad passed away and so we went out to celebrate on his behalf. I told Dottys Tea House and they surprised me and my nan with a lovely glass of bubbly and a beautiful dessert with a written message. Such a gorgeous little touch and my nan was very tearful and grateful. On top of this, the food was absolutely wonderful, everything was fresh and we were so full, we came back with treats and finished it off in the evening. The tea was plentiful which was nice to see as usually you only get a cup of two in other places. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were brilliant. Thank you so much to the team, it’s our favourite little spot and we wouldn’t go anywhere else."

"We tried the restaurant last night to compare our favourite Korean restaurant Jing Go Gae in New Malden. A lady took us to our table was friendly which was a nice start. We ordered Jap Chae (Korean Glass Noodles), Kapungi (Korean Spicy Fried Chicken), Nasu-Dengaku (Japanese Baked Aubergine with Miso), Chicken Dumplings as starters, Kake-Udon (Japanese Thick Noodles) as a main dish for my child. The starters are big portion so we couldn't order our main dishes after all. We liked everything however only downsides are: Jap Chae: Beef is the way too thick, chewy, not tender at all. Kapungi: The battered chicken is a bit too hard and needed more sauce. Nasu-Dengaku: Better to reduce more oil The taste is all lovely though. We will definitely come back again for trying sushi as the lady highly recommended!"

"After years and years dining as regulars in owner Marie 's Ewell restaurant, La Familia, we retired to Devon but still made a point of returning to La Fam whenever we came back to the 'hood! We returned this week to celebrate my wife 's birthday and, for a change, we asked Marie for a table for six at La Villa... It almost feels disloyal to say, but this place is even better than our previous fave. When we lived here, La Villa used to be mainly a seafood and fish based speciality restaurant (and we 're largely carnivores but they 've now massively expanded their menu to offer superb grill options (including our occasional guilty treat, the massive sirloin skewers! and their trademark fantastic tapas! What an evening we had the place was busy and buzzing (on a Wednesday night! when we got there, and Marie and her team made us feel like royalty. Our table immediately went for a tapas free for all and (here 's where so many other restaurants get it wrong instead of dumping all the food on the table at once to go cold and congeal, Marie and the kitchen expertly chose which complementary dishes to bring to the table in a relaxed sequence, so over the course of well over an hour, we enjoyed dish after dish of beautifully prepared HOT food with a winning mix of carbs and proteins at every stage so nicely done. The wine list is reliably comprehensive and well stocked, with great Albarinos and Ribera del Dueros to die for... plus we were delighted to see that La Familia 's signature house cocktail, Besame Mucho, is back on the menu at La Villa a great way to round off one of the best birthday meal experiences we 've ever enjoyed! We 're back up in a couple of months and we 'll be back at La Villa like a shot."

"I went to lunch here today. I ordered a pad Thai told the waiter no egg as I don't not have eggs. When she brought the noodles they were very soggy and clumsy looking when asked the reason she said if you don't want egg that's what you get. And she had the audacity to tell me if you want eat or leave and she took my noodles away. And she says every time you come you say no egg. I was so pissed and confused how else would a person convey their dietary needs like I eat no eggs or I am a vegetarian. The waiter was so rude wish no one will be treated as I was. Ruined my day. Sorry I forgot to click a pic of the food as I walked away as I don't want to be in a place that treat people so bad."

"As you'll see from my review history, I very very rarely post a bad review except in exceptional circumstances. This was one of these. I was expecting a lovely three course meal in a cosy pub out of London, based on the reviews. We were looking for a bit of a treat, as I was catching up with an old colleague (of a charity we both worked for) and her partner (CEO of a Mental Health charity). However I was severely dissappinted and appalled at how they treated us. The barman was gracious on arrival but the waitress who served us (couldn't have been much over 16) was absolutely clueless and seemed to not care about her job or the customers under her service. She was clueless about the menu when queried and kept having to nip off to the kitchen to ask, whilst giving us strange looks for having questions about the food/ breads/ menu. We felt judged, immediatly. When the food finally arrived we had ordered a sharing Camembert. The camembert was delicious but the bread it came with was burnt, unevenly sliced and looked, quite simply, like it was from the bottom of the barrel. Why the chef thought that exceptable to serve I have no idea. Not a good start. Next I had a vegetarian main (curry with cauliflower rice), from a very limited veggie menu. Quite frankly, it was bland. I make much better at home. When chased, the service was rude and the landlady/ manager was abrupt with us for having some issues, despite us being warm and kind to her always giving the pub the benefit of the doubt. I was not even offered a dessert menu. Finally, the ambience was soul sucking. It was quiet and joyless, like eating in an old folks home. In fact some people near us got told to quieten down, despite it being early on a Saturday evening. Just such a shame that the staff and food don't live up to the hype. Genuinely would not recommend this place to anyone. Not worth your time, energy. Vegetarian options: Poor. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"Once we walked in it felt so warm and ambient. We had a 3 course meal. Highlight was the main just had the simple spaghetti Bolognes. It was very delicious, so much flavour. Also the Tiramasu was so soft and melted in your mouth. Would highly recommend if you would like to taste very good Italian food. Thank you Spaghetti tree!"

"--- **Dine-In Experience** **Meal Type:** Dinner **Price Range:** £20–30 **Food Rating:** 3/5 **Service Rating:** 4/5 **Atmosphere Rating:** 3/5 I enjoyed a dinner at this restaurant that provided a decent experience overall. The food was satisfactory, but it didn’t quite stand out, earning a rating of 3 out of 5. However, the service was impressive and attentive, meriting a solid 4. The atmosphere felt average, scoring a 3; it was comfortable but lacked a distinctive charm. Overall, a pleasant meal worth considering for the price. --- Let me know if you need any further modifications!"

"£10.95 for 2 lunch courses with over half a dozen choices for both starters and mains. Super hummus, so much better and finer than any supermarket version because they’ve gone to the trouble of peeling the chick peas (yes, it’s as fiddly as it sounds). Tasty minced lamb shish and tender, well marinated, lamb kebabs. Both came with a nicely dressed fresh mixed salad. There was a choice of rice or chips which were actually very nice skinny fries. We finished with a deep dish creme brûlée (3 courses £12.95). Service was prompt and pleasant in a mostly empty restaurant but it was right after the holidays"

"what's going on? These five stars are because I believe in second chances. this review was written days after my visit, because I was outraged after my visit. my girlfriend best summarizes the visit “if this was a first date, delete my number”. So I will evaluate individual problems of 0/10 and then deliver a description. customer service 1/10 the greeting was not an existent. the waitress was not trained at all, we asked minimal information she didn't know. Utensils/condiments have not been provided up to late but if they ever eaten crab on a hungry like without serviettes, it will be really fast chaotic. food 6/10 we ordered a large selection of items from the menu. the garnels were beautiful. the fried oysters were nice. the quality of the lobster ruined the meal, tasted like an island frozen lobster "

"Have you ever been really hungry? If so, you need to visit the Charcoal Grill or place an order—it’s delicious! The truth is, when you dine there, you leave with a smile on your face and a satisfied stomach. The staff are incredibly hard-working and make you feel welcome. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars because they truly deserve it! The atmosphere is beautiful, and the staff is exceptionally courteous. The food is fantastic, and the overall vibe is perfect for any occasion. In my opinion, it’s the best kebab in all of Cheam and Sutton. What more could you ask for?"

"The fish was fresh and tasty, didn't enjoyed the chips much, not the best I have tried... The lady served us with smile which was good but later on when we had our take away we unwrapped the food just to find out that we are missing forks and tissues, which was odd for a take away order! I've called them back to leave them verbal feedback,so they remember to Always add forks and tissues to the take away orders. For that reason we are leaving 3 stars out of 5."

"Have been going to this pub on and off for years now and it never disappoints! The last time I was there I decided to have some food for a late lunch. I opted for the beef stew with multigrain bread and butter...it hit the spot perfectly and at £7 you can't go wrong! The meat was a plenty and very tender, the sauce itself was tasty and full of veggies too! I could of eaten another! ; So, if you're not from the area and are looking for a high standard traditional pub then look no further than The Hope! Very attentive and friendly staff also! :"

"my wife and I visited the first time a few years ago two years ago. before we had very good food and service. Unfortunately, as a restaurant, the pan has gone down. the door was out of order, so we had to. to enter over a sloppy back door. that should let the alarm bells ring. there were already a few on a table, but none of the others were taken. we were shown to a table and saw that next to us was not erased since the previous diners had gone. it was immediately obvious that the staff was overwhelmed by picking and delivery orders. When we looked around, we saw that the restaurant was ashamed and there were spinnwebs everywhere. it looked like they had been there for a long time. it needed a really good clean, but it looked like the restaurant was not a priority. we ordered a drink, appetizers and main courses and then waited, and waited, and waited. we talked to the other couple who was in at least 10 minutes before us. they also waited for her to eat. we got our drinks, but no eating appeared in about 25 minutes, for us or the other couple. however, the employees were flooded by telephone instructions, the tickets were dressed in full. we have decided enough to pay and leave for our drinks. the table next to us was not yet cleared. we remember to visit the employees of earlier and we felt very sorry because they are really nice people. Unfortunately, as with many other restaurants nowadays, the requirements for take-aways and deliveries are so great and the siam orchid has its day as restaurant."

"We tried the joint for the first time. It's not authentic Indian. The food was more sweet than spicy and the portions were not that big. The atmosphere inside is nice but the food was not that great. The worst thing was one of the server was chewing on something while serving the food. Not very professional. Not a very pleasant experience."
