"Their daily specials include a variety of homemade cakes that are all delicious; my personal favorite is the chicken and leek pie, but the steak and mushroom pie and the church warrior pie are also excellent. Each dish comes with a choice of chips, potato croquettes, or a baked potato. While the selection of cakes rarely changes— which could be seen as a downside— it’s really a testament to their quality. If it ain't broke, don’t fix it, right?
The pub also offers all the classic pub fare like steaks, scampi, and chips. Be prepared for potential wait times during busy periods, but that is to be expected. Keep in mind that this is a quaint village pub, not one of those generic chains. If you're visiting with a large group, it's wise to reserve a table.
Additionally, the pub is dog-friendly; my little Yorkshire terrier, Daisy, loves it here. One thing to note is that most mobile networks don’t have reception in this area, and there is no Wi-Fi, so it's a perfect place to just enjoy the company of friends and family. Also, the pub only accepts cash or checks—no credit cards.
Mr. Michelin might not give it five stars, but that’s his loss!"
