"Went to this restaurant as part of Norfolk Restaurant Week and had heard very good things so was super excited Was hard to find but when we did it was a lovely welcome from the staff.....we were seated Immediately as we were late through not finding the venue.....menu looked very appetising!!! Served bread which was lovely....me being an Irish man love my bread and butter....asked if we could have a bit more (perfectly happy to pay extra which I said) to be told that the chef had only made enough that day for one roll per person and no extras were available.....ironically 5 minutes later the table next to us asked for some more bread but got the same answer Food was fabulous and an incredibly high standard.....in truth the starter portions were rather small for an adult....I fully appreciate fine dining but there wasn't much on the plate....at that point kind of had that sinking feeling!!! Luckily though even though the next 2 courses were not the biggest they did the job of filling us up in a pleasant way and all three course were very good food good service apart from waiting 55 minutes for our desserts but in total fairness to the manager and the staff they were extremely apologetic and even went so far as to only charge us for 2 courses instead of 3!! Which was not my intention but a very nice touch!! Also very helpful and polite.....explained to us that there was another promotion in January food was excellent and would definitely have been 5 stars if it wasn't for the bread and maybe slightly more on the starter....yes there was a delay but it was dealt with perfectly looking forward to hopefully dining their again with friends soon"

"Went for lunch with my brother and his wife , and had a fabulous Sunday Roast Beef , hubby said it was the best he has had , my brother and his wife had the vegetarian option , which they thoroughly enjoyed . As has...been said before , don’t let the outside appearance put you off , we will definitely be back . The staff were great , very friendly ."

"I stopped by for tea and cake but had to remind the staff about my order after waiting for at least 45 minutes. By the time my order arrived, my tea was almost finished. The scone was served warm with jam, even though I didn't ask for it. I couldn't find the prices of cakes on the menu, but later discovered that the prices listed on their website were lower than what we were charged. Unfortunately, we weren't the only ones experiencing long wait times - a family ended up leaving because they were tired of waiting. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience."

"This review is based on one visit where 3 portions of cod and chips were purchased , the review refers to all the portions . A one word sum up AWFUL . The worst take away fish and chips I have ever had. For the price it should have been outstanding , it was not The fish was over cooked and bone dry with no succulence all portions , The chips had been cooked in tired oil at a too low temperature so were boiled in the oil as opposed to fried , as a result the chips were running in oil which was dripping out of the paper . To the owners if you would like to see what well cooked ,fairly priced portions of fish and chips look and taste like , I suggest you visit the “Pilot Inn “ Dungeness Had I had not been staying some 9 miles away I would bought the food back for a refund"

"Sent me a piece of burnt, dry duck; phoned up to complain (15 minutes on hold/ not getting through) then they thought I was asking for a free meal! So sent back the rubber ducky (not touched not eaten). No apology not even free prawn crackers. Been ordering for 5 years. Last time as had to let my friends and family eat before me for the wait on the phone and for the food I paid for. Just we’re done unacceptable food and attitude. I should add the cashier is lovely and very professional, as the Chinese lady in the back is cussing me out. 10/10 to her."
