"I don't always review this pub each time I visit, they would all be positive reviews if I did but, feel I need to on this occasion. Horrid weather night but we were warmly welcomed upon arrival. The place was clearly extremely busy so, there was a slight wait for our table and we were also slightly late, to be fair. I was going to order the fish pot but, due to the logistics of our relatively small table in a very busy pub, I didn't as I wasn't sure if the shell fish arrived prepared or not; I should have asked on reflection. Two of us had the 6oz prime steak burgers and myself and my other friend had the beetroot and butternut squash wellington, roasted new potatoes, tenderstem broccoli, redcurrant and rosemary gravy, which was excellent; I would definitely recommend. Lovely atmosphere, nice and warm and cosy, excellent and attentive staff, who were clearly extremely busy and tying to attend to everyone and everything. 100% recommend and I will visit again but, two waiting staff for such a busy evening was not great although John and the lady waitress were excellent; maybe the pub is short staffed or was let down last minute but this does need to be addressed. Thank you for a lovely meal and evening regardless."

"My wife and I stumbled upon Gaetano 's while searching for another well known Italian restaurant. And we 're glad we found this gem first! We ordered fillet steaks and I can honestly say that I 've never eaten a more generous, perfectly cooked fillet steak in my entire life! What a joy!! Sadly, we were only on a temporary visit to Swindon and live over a hundred miles away, otherwise this restaurant would feature very high on my 'return to ' list. The owner (who also doubles as the chef) is clearly a very talented chef and the very least I could do for such a sumptious meal and wonderful evening is to leave a fitting recommendation. Very highly recommended indeed!"

"the bar staff was the kindest I ever met. the food and the service were fantastic. we were concerned about it because rugby was up and it is animated sportable, but we had the best greeting of all time. customers apologised that they were loud when the rugby scored, we had no great atmosphere. "Really lovely waitress but the maitre’d was rude and we overheard him being obnoxious to another table! Not sure we would go back… food was nice. Two of four main courses were wrong but we didn’t complain as they were options which were acceptable to us. Poor atmosphere and the guy in charge was very keen for everyone to leave so he could lock the door by 9!!!"

"On arriving at Ask on 30th December, the staff had no record of my online booking even though I followed up with a phone call ahead of the day to confirm a high chair was required. My friends and I found the staff unsympathetic to our predicament and made us feel like the error was our fault rather than OpenTable or Ask. Even an apology at the time would have softened our disappointment but instead the staff seemed rude and unfriendly. There was no space to accommodate us for lunch even though I had made a booking so we were forced to leave in the hope that we could find somewhere to eat. Thankfully Prezzo in Marlborough managed to find us a table and we were really impressed by the friendly and accommodating staff. A sharp contrast to our experience with the staff at Ask. We had travelled some distance to meet in Marlborough for a birthday lunch and sadly we left Ask frustrated at the lack of friendly reception at the restaurant. Due to this unacceptable experience, I will not be using Open Table again for any bookings and we will not be returning to Ask in Marlborough."

"We went for a pre ordered cream tea but when it eventually arrived there were some OK sandwiches and a pile of garish cakes which we had not ordered. When just one small dry scone each arrived, we asked for more but that was refused. The jam was of a poor quality with no discernable fruit in it. No butter was offered. Throughout, the service was slow with no staff in evidence at all for long periods. The bill included a service charge which we declined, but they nad not deducted the £5 per person deposit which we had paid. We will not be back."

Food sends out without cooking properly, driver brought food without put it on box whoch made the food so cold barely even chew anything Non trained bunch of cowards working there. When you call on phone so rudely they shout WHAT!? Rather saying sorry didnt hear you or pardon or anything polite. "Okay, so this is a difficult one to score really as I wish I could give it 5 stars for the waitress alone. Her name was Jade and she was absolutely brilliant. She was so friendly and fantastic with my little boy. Nothing was too much trouble for her. I hope she is valued by management as she really is a big asset to your pub. However, her working conditions were appalling. She was running about here, there and everywhere, she looked exhausted. There were no other staff to be seen and I even saw her asking for assistance but this was not given. We had to wait nearly an hour from finishing our meal to getting our dessert. I would have normally complained and walked out but I just couldn 't do that to the waitress. She was manning half the pub, taking orders, making drinks, serving food, cleaning tables. Apart from this, the food was good to be fair and the actual pub itself is very nice. We were on holiday so I don 't know what it used to be like but if these are the conditions your staff work under on a regular basis then you will soon lose customers and gain a bad reputation. Sort out your staffing issues and look after and appreciate the excellent ones you have as if you have a team of Jade 's then wow, you will have a top notch pub."

"Never eating here again. Chicken burgers had half a fillet each, they put the stalk of the tomato in my burger. Very careless. Chicken was dry like it had been reheated. They wanted to charge extra £2 for a sprinkle of peri salt! Very stingey. My local chicken cottage in Slough is really good and fresh. But this was SO disappointing."

"Went through the drive-through last night, asked for a Regular Popcorn Chicken Meal, when I was asked what drink I would like, I asked to change the drink to a cappuccino, which they accepted. When I got to the window I was then told that the coffee machine isn't working. Then when I was given the food, I asked the same man when the coffee machine will be fixed at that point he said that the coffee machine is being cleaned, so he was blatantly lying to begin with. I highlighted that he initially said the machine was broken. My first issue is the lie but my second issue is the fact that the machine was being cleaned at 22:15 when they weren't due to close until 00:00. I could understand cleaning the machine at 23:00 but definitely not 22:15. My third issue is that that food wasn't as warm as it should be."

"I had a wonderful meal at this restaurant. I tried the festive menu and enjoyed all the dishes. The server was kind enough to switch my calamari for buffalo wings when I had food envy. They also honored the 2 cocktails for £12 deal, even though it was a weekday offer. The restaurant took all necessary COVID precautions and practiced social distancing, which may have contributed to the quieter atmosphere than usual for this time of year. Typically, there would be a more lively party atmosphere."

"Sorry folks it's our 3rd time at the F&H. 1st time was very nice. We returned with friends only to be stuck next to a huge speaker 4ft away from our table. We were advised not to come on Saturdays to avoid this. 3rd booking we arrived On a Friday) only to find a similar situation we requested to be put in the Den at time of booking ) but it was closed for some reason. This is a pub that caters for the locals (which is fine) but for others it misses the mark by a considerable amount. Probably won't be back."

"I will preface this review by saying this was my first trip to an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet for about five years and so I might be a bit enthusiastic because of that but I really think this place is fantastic. First of all I was surprised by the entrance. A nice spacious car park that surrounds the really impressive architecture. I really wasn't expecting anything like that is terms of external décor but was really impressed. Walking in, the building was spacious and we were seated for lunch straightaway. We did come on a Wednesday at about one o'clock so it wasn't as busy as it might be on weekends and in the evenings and that suited us just fine. The drinks service was quick and both a pint of Budweiser and glass of Sauvignon Blanc were under £4 each which you don't see in many places these days. In fact the value of the place being £12.50 each for a lunch buffet is such good value for money. If you were spending the equivalent on a takeaway you wouldn't be getting much food. The range of food was good, not as much as I have seen in Chinese restaurants in the past, but it's a good range for a lunchtime and there was plenty of the favourites. Really tasty food, both had a plate of starters and then some mains and it was all really delicious. Ribs, chicken satay, prawn toast, lemon chicken, noodles, egg fried rice, all great. A few random dishes such as little sausages and hash brown balls that I can only put down to food for the kids. The atmosphere was good, seats comfortable, and dining experience very pleasant. Will be going again soon."

"We always enjoy dining at the Kembrey Inn, whether it’s for a special treat, a family meal, or a lunch date. This time, I went with my partner, our friend, and his partner. The meals were fantastic; everything arrived hot and perfectly cooked. The three of them indulged in a variety of alcoholic drinks, from pints to cocktails, while I opted for their mocktails (which are quite reasonably priced). We all left feeling satisfied and happy!"

"We went to celebrate completing the 2016 moonwalk that morning. The food was amazing and it was nice that the chef came out and had a chat gave it more of a personal feel. The staff were very pleasent and friendly. My only critisicism was that we booked a 3.30pm table as we were not sure what we time we would be back from London and felt towards the end we had to rush our cocktail because the bill was bought out as they were closing and she said next time it would be better if we came earlier-we normally would have it was just because we couldn't guarantee getting back from London by a set time-might be an idea to let people know if they take this booking in future. Will definitely back for food and very good value for money."

"I have read great reviews in the past about The Kings and was excited to take my mum there for mother's day today. However, when we arrived our table was set for four people, not five. Granted the booking was originally for 4 people, but was changed well in advance. The staff left us to it and did not tell us what to do it was a sunday carvery so we had to go and help ourselves . The food was good, the kitchen staff who served us were friendly and attentive. When we had finished, we waited a good 20 25 minutes to have our plates cleared away we had to get someone's attention and they swiftly walked away with our plates without returning to tell us how to get the second part of our mother's day deal, the desert. We eventually asked if we needed to order it, and the lady said we had to go and help ourselves. Finally we had to get up and ask someone for the bill plates still on table and then just got up and paid at the bar for fear of having to wait another 30 mins for this!! All in all good food, lovely venue, poor restaurant staff with no care for their customer's experience. I understand it was mother's day and they must have been busy, but looking around it was not half as bad as I expected, and there were plenty of staff. Disappointed :"

"when we went to the pub, it was so expected quiet with only a few locals, as expected for a Tuesday night. we were a table of 8 coming for a family meal no table was prepared for us, they said, sitting everywhere, which is good, but there were no tables for 8, so we had to move tables chairs ourselves then we had to go the bar to order drinks as no one came by. no menus had to ask for 20 minutes. drinks were slow and even understood with only one person behind the bar, but not when we were the only table in it. then there was even worse 1 hour between sitting starters coming after we ordered that he read the order back, but still missed one starter coming, all the others finished before missing one came dirty cutlery thrown in the ground as starter did not arrive polished in food covered remains watermark - no one checked on starts offered no plates for the release of camembert. the brot with suppe camembert was tesco hot boils we all had empty jars, which we then asked to be deleted and came after more drinks net. pie had parching paper under neath her still what we oh sorry came with pad and pencil and asked if we wanted pudding. we had not seen a menu. bill was not asked to get it on the table. no excuse, or how we thought that was eating. I then went to bar and explained problems and asked me to speak with manager, because I was not happy to whom he said there was nothing he could do. then went on phone to manager. we arrived around 19:20 clock and left around 10 clocks, in which 3 dirty tables around us remained dirty covered drinks. we have eaten many paintings with the family in the run of the years and we have been appalled with this experience that we will not come back. even deserves a star."
