"Booked in advance for a party of 3 for 6pm on a Sunday, I expected it to be busy but we had to queue for 25 minutes to get to the service counter. I have never been to a Toby before so was looking forward to a traditional roast dinner , unfortunately i think we picked the wrong day. The first issue was when we eventually got to the counter the Lamb had all gone , I settled for turkey and beef instead, the young man attempting to carve gave me some very ragged pieces which looked like they had been cut with a chainsaw. The second carver was more interested in dancing to the piped music , most of the vegetables were available but the take out staff kept taking large amount to put into the take away containers. The meal itself was questionable quality, roast potatoes were awful with a really tough outer skin , the rest of the vegetables very bland and lukewarm, turkey was good but the beef very tough and chewy. Overall the meal was poor , however I will give the place a second chance and go when it is a little quieter. I do think the place needs a re vamp , it looks tired inside and the counter needs to be cleaned during service, the carving staff were just throwing joint strings on the floor."
