"Hello, I came to Zizzis yesterday evening with my work colleagues as our Christmas meal. I called beforehand and the woman I spoke to was very helpful confirmed I could extend our booking from 8 to 12 people which I greatly appreciated. When we got there the booking could not be found, causing me stress with everyone else when in fact it was there all along and the person at the front didn’t look properly. Once we were seated we were given our waiter for the evening who unfortunately was not helpful in any way at all. We ordered two portions of olives, only one appeared. My friend ordered a meat pizza and when he came and bought it to her she asked for some extra pizza sauce to which he replied with it’s got meat on it, is that the meat you eat? (She was Indian and it just came across quite insensitive) I don’t think he smiled once during the entire 2 hours we were there He refused to engage with us, or ask if the meals were okay Trying to ask for more drinks made us feel bad as it appeared to be a very tiresome task for him to do his job Unfortunately I did not get his name as no one at Zizzis wore name badges last night. I was deeply disappointed in the service we had for our Christmas meal yesterday evening. I understand it was busy however it was a case of this one persons awful attitude that seemed to ruin our meal. Please contact me via email on [hidden email] to discuss further. Thanks Jeminie"

"How many cafes are open on a Sunday 9am til 3pm, as well as Wednesday to Saturday? For takeaways only during Covid. This gem of a little cafe is ideally situated next door to Gheluvelt Park in Worcester and an excellent place to pick up food drinks to enjoy for a picnic in the park. They do all day breakfasts, full Sunday lunch (preferably preorder or take your chance there will be some left! hot pork stuffing rolls (from 11.30am , freshly made sandwiches, ice cream cones, waffles pancakes and more. I only found this great cafe on Sunday 14th September, when my daughter I, with baby grandson in tow, were heading for a walk in the park on this hot day. Fancying a cold drink and something to eat picnicing in the park, we stopped here and were so glad we did. The couple running this cafe are lovely people and gave us a very warm welcome. Their young son was playing in the cafe and they served us over a small table set in the doorway, as the cafe is too small given social distancing limitations, hence takeaways only at this time. I wish them every success during this difficult period. We both ordered a homemade Elderflower Sparkle soft drink, made with elderflower, lemon and sparkling water, which came in generously sized cups with domed lids, filled to the very brim with added ice a slice too. I ordered a hot pork stuffing roll, while my daughter was tempted into trying a roast beef Sunday lunch. She was lucky enough to get one, as their Sunday lunches are very popular and it is usually wise to preorder yours in advance rather than face disappointment. After a nice chat while waiting a short while for our order, we received a bag with the food all wrapped in foil, with paper napkins plastic cutlery supplied and the drink cups in a cardboard holder. People came for ice cream cones while we were waiting. Off we went into the park to find a shadey spot for our picnic. My daughter's roast beef lunch was hot and a generous helping, served in a foil tray with Yorkshire puds in a bag and gravy in a tub. She thoroughly enjoyed her meal. My hot pork stuffing roll was a good size and filled with no fewer than four slices of pork and a generous helping of stuffing. Apple sauce and gravy had been offered but I didn't want them. I very much enjoyed this roll, while looking enviously at my daughter's full Sunday lunch. The ice cold Elderflower Sparkle drinks were really great and refreshing on this hot day. Prices were very reasonable. Finding this lovely little cafe run by this very welcoming couple is a great find and we will be back again. Ideal for refreshments to take into the park or home. We will have to try their waffles and pancakes too! Thoroughly recommended!!!"

"We found the whole experience very strange and underwhelming. Let me start with the positives the food arrived piping hot and was properly home made. We have visited many Nepalese restaurants over the years, and have always loved their food, warm, friendly service, and the great pride they usually take in their culinary heritage. However this was not the case here. My initial brush with the “service” was when I used the online “Book a Table” form on their website. When I hadn’t received any confirmation two days later, we rang the restaurant, assuming they had not received my request. Turned out they had just hadn’t bothered replying. Anyway we arrived with high hopes. We wanted to try the specials as they are usually fantastic in a Nepalese. The first item on the menu was “Gurkha Rifle Curry” made with the “chef’s special sauce”. Intrigued we asked what was in the curry as there was no hint of the ingredients. The waiter replied “It’s a curry”. (Well obviously!! . Perplexed we tried again and received the same unhelpful reply. So we tried asking “is it perhaps tomato based for example?” The gentleman merely replied “no “. We were perplexed and surprised at the lack of pride in the food, and lack of interest in wanting to help us choose. We found the whole service throughout quite cold and distant. Another great indicator of the standard of any Indian restaurant is the popadoms! Unfortunately here they arrived cold and tasted stale, and served with three very uninspiring chutneys. We all took a stab in the dark and ordered different mains and sides but all five of us were left feeling rather disappointed. The icing on the cake was when my husband paid in cash, leaving a decent tip, and there was not a smile, or even a thank you. The man merely walked off counting the money and looking very grumpy . As this restaurant is close to where our friends live, we had hoped to become regulars. Unfortunately our experience here has ruled it out completely."
