"An appointment in the early afternoon in the Wuppertal city centre near the market, the whole day did not eat anything neat, there was a little bite to eat, even from the point of view that it should go quickly. My choice fell to the Kitti Chai, located near the market and town hall in the building of an electric and media storehouse, whose name makers circle around the sun, as the asteroids themselves have the light. (Now I've got two different things together) No matter The restaurant belongs to a chain that now runs some locals of the same name, the kitchen itself is called Thai. You don't find websites, but you'll find them on Facebook. A menu, however, the old one and no longer valid one can find here: [here link] The place and the procedure there were familiar to me from two satisfactory previous visits. You can sit down at the tables, pick up in the map, then you have to go to a bar and cashier's shop, order there, take the drinks and the best of them from there, then get a small transmitter to be found later in the restaurant and bring the dishes to the table. The order will then be sent to a screen in the open kitchen. The advantages of this semi self service are not really obvious to me. The restaurant itself is decorated like a lounge, although rustic wooden floor, but dark stained wooden tables, violet aubergine colored leather benches, maigreen meets the color best with leather-covered stainless steel stools, all immersed in colored light, here dominates violet, on a wall a large digital waterfall. To this end, however, quite loud electronic music, which has annoying effect after a short time and does not allow you to stay long after dinner. The kitchen is open on all sides and glazed and in the middle of the restaurant. I chose my seat this time so that I could follow the events there. There is also a well-stocked bar, which then also reveals the second business base of Kitti Chai and thus also that of the sounding. To what extent this is accepted, I can't say because I haven't been there so far. At this time, the place was only visited sparsely, an operation was present, I chose the table myself, the short welcome was associated with explaining the above mentioned procedure, which I, however, abbreviated as known to me. The new card is now divided into vegetarian noodles and rice dishes, which can be ordered at extra cost of up to 2 € chicken, duck, beef or shrimp. Peperonilogo is included in some dishes. My choice was “Red Curry Tropical” with peppers, onions, carrots, bamboo strips, champignons, zucchini, beans, lychee and pineapple, with jasmine rice at €6.95, plus chicken for €1. At the open kitchen it is offered that you can order the dishes in mild, medium, spicy or very spicy, the eye impact of the operation at the order in spicy should probably be called “Are you sure?” The restaurant offers from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., an iced tea or a lemonade of mint or basil ginger as a free drink. My choice fell to Basilikum ginger, which, like the others, is kept in a cooling tank. Fitted with the best, napkin, the drink and a transmitter, I then went back to my table and could take the preparation of my food in sight. The ingredients are all ready to cut, there is a collection of sauces in plastic bottles, everything comes together and successively to cook in a wok. So my food reached me in a very short time, but it was also the only one to prepare. In fact, it was so spicy, but still tolerable that I no longer needed the sauces, Sambal Oelek, Peperoni and Soya standing on the neighboring table. The chicken meat cooked and not roasted (we prefer), was crisp, the vegetables pleasantly bite-resistant and varied and therefore tastefully varied. One, even if prepared ingredients, mixed curry sauce. The rice, although precooked by good consistency. Warning: If you don’t like to eat very sharp, you should choose a maximum of “medium” or mild and then prefer to sharpen. The lemonade very sweet and unique in taste not the ideal food companion and therefore only interesting because it was free. Conclusion: Who wants to eat quickly and inexpensively is or eats right here. Compared to the burger snack, you pay much more for getting saturated with less quantity, quality and vitamin-rich diet. You must like the ambience, the loud music even more. The service is limited to the ordering process, the serving of the food and the cleaning, combined with the question whether it tasted. Cleanliness as well as with regard to kitchen inspection, but the sauce vessels should be kept clean even if this repeated cleaning is required on the day. The star award is again quite difficult, but it is based on the favorable prices, similar oriented gastro chains and not on better restaurants with service and corresponding kitchen. After a shopping trip or for a quick lunch you are right here, for a more cozy or extended dinner or a business dinner I would not go here."

"About 1 month ago when I visited someone, Lauer Grill tried the Green Curry in Barmen. It was great! Very delicious, without glutamate, great sharpness, with coconut milk, as it should be. We like to eat asian and then thought today, ok then it will not be wrong in Elberfeld, on the map also Thai dishes without glutamate as in Barmen. I ordered the Green Curry, my partner fried noodles with beef, child got pumice and gums. What should I say: the Green Curry was quite inconvenient. Even the color told me: it can't taste well. There was no coconut milk in it at all, but obviously from some finished mix together sprinkled sauce, with totally sprinkled rice pulp.... just a pity about the stain and the ingredients! In the fried noodles there were still residues of an egg shell in it... would not be a world fall, could happen. But the dish barely tasted fat, the taste of vegetables and noodles. Only the gyrose and pommes of the child were ok, but what was energized was that we had to order the full portion. Had previously asked if we could just have half the portion and pay because there were no children's dishes on the map.... but was not possible categorically. Either way, the first and last time. But the dish was dripping with fat, and the taste of the vegetables and noodles was barely recognizable. "A man's night was blown back. I made some suggestions with regard to the location, but hit resistance. The opinion tended clearly in the direction, nix fine . Since I knew evenings from the past, the fine started but ended rustic, I added to the majority. They quickly agreed on the rustic farmhouse Ewich at the rural edge of Wuppertal. It is located at the top of the Dönberg district, just a quarter of the town, but surrounded by meadows with cows and martinis) geese, which are just allowed to experience their last days. As we know, Saint Martin is not only divided into the cloak of St. Martin, but is also divided into a thousand-fold geese. Here in the Merkel Land, but much more in Poland. Well, we reached the rustic country house on a Friday night. The house was over 30% filled, we had reserved. The Maid service in no way rustic) greeted us with a refreshing Hello and led us to a table. For 5 people just nice. Some of us knew the house of frequent visits, because this gastronomy has existed here for many decades, with the current host for about 12 years. Newcomers who hit here are somewhat amazed at the atmosphere. Rustic decoration without end . One has the impression that here at some point an antique dealer has received the rustic order to sell a lot. For some, the nostalgia, for other Nippes, which one or other part even art or simply the cosiness of the Germans, is also called rustic. No matter how, we were not here to philosophize whether we are sitting here in a Bergisches Heimatmuseum or in a restaurant that hopefully will pamper us with Speis Trank. The refreshing service Maid brought the cards and asked for drinks directly. It was mostly Warsteiner) beer ordered, but also the dark Old Woodhouse beer. Only one colleague from the round drank wine, and later more. A look into the map and already the next surprise for guests who hit here for the first time. The card is partially written in Bergische Platt Dialekt), but with high-German subtitles. Samples or extracts of this rustic, volks-close and mountainic expression are to be dispensed with here, because this dialect is hardly understood in the near Düsseldorf. In addition, the esteemed GG colleague First has already written the one or other sample here in his evaluation. The menu can be summarized as follows: The same cuisine from the Bergisches Land such as fried blood sausage, herringstip or pancakes. But also the whole parade of the Rump and Filetsteaks. Schnitzel from Milan, Holstein and Austria. Fan groups from the Veggies camp will not find much suitable here. Even in the majority of salads offered, you can find bacon or fillet strips. If you still find vegans in the salad buffalo mozzarella, only the way to the meadow remains. And you can find them right next to the house. Various goose dishes and a wild goulash were offered as a special. What is slightly thin and very rustic is the appetizers. In addition to some sweets, only black bread with Mettwurst, Roastbeef with roast potatoes or also pellets with quark. Especially the women's world reaches a degree of saturation of over 60% in such powerful) appetizers quickly before eating the main dishes. As an appetizer, I chose the carpaccio from the smoked goose breast to 8.50 euros, then the 250 gr. Filetsteak with the classic of all sauces, the Sauce Bernaise at 30.50 euros. The other gentlemen at the table chose, for example, Gänsebrust with marons, the Rumpsteak Morocco etc. For these reasons, the appetizers were hard to do, some brave then decided for the Kottenbutter . In the meantime, our Maid service had already attentively and very flotted with drinks and served a greeting from the kitchen. Dark bread and a butter whose components were not quite clear. Something with paprika and other ingredients from the garden. So far okay, but without explosion. Only our wine-winner at the table said that the selection of wines is very clear and cannot meet certain requirements, especially since the map does not distinguish the wine offered. Well, he had to solve this problem for himself. In the Warsteiner we consumed, the origin was doubtless. In the meantime, there were other guests, but it wasn't full. Maybe it was Friday. The appetizers were served. A short look at the plates showed, clear portions are not served here. Although not an overcrowded plate, but tidy portions, the mined beet butter Mettwurst on black bread) would also have served a hungry horse carriage as a small main dish. Too much, however, the number of onion rings lying between the black bread and the thick Mettwurst slices. One of the gentlemen expressed it like this: Would you like to try how onion rings destroy the taste of a Mettwurst . The carpaccio I ordered from the smoked goose breast was a little less rustic. Very thin, as it is hardly thinner. Rounded with an excellent Walnutdressing class. Frankly, I wouldn't have trusted this rustic kitchen. Only the rim of the plate with greenware was superfluous. Why not only here in many restaurants some chefs have to deal with decorations on the edge of the plate or organize any Balsamico paintings? We were excited and only got on the edge that was served intensively on the neighboring tables. Our discussions were diverse, and the focus was also on the debate Hillary Clinton vs Donald Trump. I was still firmly convinced that this political horror clown with its yellow hair and the dead cat on the head, of course, is not chosen as the US president. But while I write these lines today on 09.11.2016, I am constantly being made aware that I have done a misjudgment of all the first goodness. From today's 11/9, hopefully no 9/11. Back to the culinary scene, because the thought of Trump is already triggering with appetite. I served a fillet steak as ordered medium. Add a salad, roast potatoes and over) plenty of sauce Bernaise. The meat was of good quality, the desired cooking point. Bratkartoffeln kross, rustic, tasty. And the Bernaise ? Thanks to heaven, not spilled over the flesh, and also not a bag product, but obviously freshly beaten up. Taking into account my Body Mass Index 25), half of the sauce would have been absolutely sufficient for me. So happy? The salad wasn't exactly the hit. Content and related to dressing rather boring. As a professional salad Ignorant, I could live well with it. The other gentlemen at the table praised the food they served throughout. Whether goose or steaks, you were satisfied. Here no one had expected an upscale kitchen with refines from Italy or France and also no culinary creations, but rather good German home cooking. But that's exactly what happened. Here the attempt is made to solve the quadrature of the circle. On the one hand, robust and rustic local dishes, but also steaks that meet slightly higher expectations. Nevertheless, one does not go to promise superior cuisine. One remains on the ground, even if on the map in the entry text a little is spoken of by an international cuisine. Why various gastronomics always strive to meet international demands. Does our cuisine in Germany not offer many creative dishes? The country house Ewig himself has this proof. It doesn't always have to be international. Some of us consumed to dessert still cinnamon brownies with a speculative cream and pancakes with apples or ice cream. Others jumped these calories to activate the Digestif department. This is a suggestion, expressly no criticism. The Digestif offer is diverse and of course international. However, if one expressly prescribes a regional cuisine at the courts, then one or other regional spirits from the environment should also be offered on the map. Conclusion: If not explicitly mentioned in the evaluation of the service, he acted flott, attentive and friendly. There are 4 stars. The same applies to food 4 stars. Personally, the ambience is a bit too rustic, something too much in the style of a village museum or a peasant room. For this reason, 3.5 stars, although in our men's round some mountainous guys look completely different. Here is rischtisch jemülich, so the heard O sound of some warsteiner, Old Woodhouse beer and raspberry spirit inhaler. The house advertises with the claim Welcome to us. We felt welcome. And in a few months back in the nice beer garden. Let's see what the horror clown has held in the USA by then."

Zur alten Bergbahn

"The restaurant Zur alte Bergbahn is located at the top of the toweled and prefabricated district of the Wuppertaler Toelleturm. Until 1959, the building served as a railway station and terminal station of a mountain railway. Then in 1980 Klaus Homberg opened a restaurant with his (business) partner Godelieve van Hoofstadt. The restaurant quickly established itself at the well-to-be-welded Wuppertalers. Klaus Homberg leads the Alte Bergbahn as a gastronome and writes for 36 years until 2016. For decades, he was considered the Grandseigneur of the Gastronomics in the city of Wupper. Always dressed fashionably, always a spell on the lips, because he knew almost every one of his numerous regular guests personally very well. He enjoyed life in the local Wuppertal High Society scene and was ennoble. The restaurant was a 24/7 food point for him. He liked to spend a short time on Malle for 2 or 3 days. After 2016 there were two new operators. We were no longer in the Alte Bergbahn . I had to persuade Hasimausi to a meal there, because the store was already a bit too stiff (O tone of my dear lady), so her slightly negative attitude. When we entered, she felt confirmed. However, the (former) gediegene ambience still remembered the time of 10 or more years ago. We welcomed a young refreshing female service. The cards were handed, the question for an aperitif was asked. A short look into the map revealed a clear selection. And oh wonder, Hasimausi ordered an Aperitif classic from the 80/90s, namely a Campari Orange. I was amazed. My choice, which one surprise a carol from early. Flott served the young lady the drinks, including a Bruschetta greeting from the kitchen. Nice, well roasted ciabatta, covered with fresh tomatoes, discreetly matched with garlic. Not elaborate, but handcrafted. When selecting the appetizers, we first worked hard. Certainly something pampered I tormented the statement: not again shrimp in chili oil, not again beef carpaccio and duck breast is not exactly my case. Sometimes I wish chefs with a little more creativity in restaurants, because shrimp and beef carpaccio are now almost on every map. But my dear lady discovered the alternative. The appetizer variations of the house. Something about everything. Carpaccio, duck breast and shrimp. Hopefully a right decision for the close 15, euro. At the election for the main courts we did less hard. We were both addressed by the wild courts. Unfortunately, here in the Rhineland the offer of wild dishes is almost always very poor, why always. This was much more attractive here in the Alte Bergbahn. Were there a stag back and a ruckus offering. So please, for Hasimausi the back of the Reh (28, Euro), for me something good of the deer (26, Euro). Our fleeting service Maid said we had made a good choice. And it didn't take long and she served the appetizers. Oh, I was positively surprised. Very attractive and pleasing were the shrimps, the duck breast and the carpaccio dressed on large plates. Bread was served for this, or better said the already known Ciabatta that served as Bruschetta before. On the other hand, nothing was quite the opposite. Only for the duck breast would I have preferred dark bread. Shortly and close to the point. The appetizer variations were exactly what we had imagined. Very good products, carefully prepared. As usual, I looked around. So in the direction of ambience, flair, furnishings etc. Let's say that the facility was still very classic and determined at the time by Klaus Homberg and the First Lady Godelieve van Hoofstadt. No the ambience did not work antiquated or overhauled, even if the colored butt windows are a relic from the past. I didn't feel uncomfortable. This is where a tradition is maintained, cultivated and probably continued for a long time. And the audience? Classic, conservative and not quite incapable. Hasimausi once again stressed that everything here is still too stiff. I defended the flair with the argument that this is a tradition that has lived here. Hasimausi ruled on it with the progressive formulation: tradition does not generate sales, tradition you cannot live. The main dishes: My dear, the deer intended for me probably had a wide back. What was served to me was loosely 250 grams and even more, embedded in a hazelnut coat. Matching a maron sauce that spreads alongside the deer as a mirror. To add a vegetable that I haven't been eating for decades WIRSING. More precisely, RAHMWIRSING. As a professional veggie, I still have to say surprisingly good. And the meat of the deer? Wonderful the quality, wonderful the hearty wild aroma. The only aversion to a contemporary modern kitchen was the sweet potato puree. Why in the last few years every kitchen magician serves sweet potatoes pumice or like this sweet potato peach. Hasimausi tried to explain the sweet potato trend. The sweet potato is on the rise, because I still prefer the local German knolle. Highly satisfied I consumed the deer. Hasimausi was just as happy with her back. She also praised the quality of the meat with mangold. With a view to her really enjoyable plate, I allowed myself the cynical question whether her puree was also a product of sweet potatoes. Hasimausi reduced himself to one: now you will be silly. Well, we were both very satisfied, even if the old mountain railway was atmospherically not the world of my lady, so she has still been able to convince the consumed food. Keep the question of a dessert. I didn't say anything again. Does the chefs actually only have the cream Brulee? Or Tiramisu? Just out here on the dessert card, the ice surprise dessert is served on a 12 he floor. However, only for 4 people. If I may ask the neighboring table whether you are involved in this dessert, how often do we renounce a dessert. Because I couldn't find anything suitable and/or creative and Hasimausi is always in the year-round diet continuous loop. Only the liquid Mirabelle wins us from the beverage card. Conclusion: Yes almost without if and but a good overall impression. For 4.5 stars. Also for cleanliness, food and service. At the ambience we are hard to do. Yes very well maintained, but also somewhat antiqued For 3 stars. Keep the question of whether we come back. I'm sure it's because of the wild dishes alone. Even if there are still reserves in the ambience. And the PLV likes 4 stars. ps Very recommended in summer, the spacious outdoor terrace."

"Haben sie reserviert? Nein.
