"Wonderful value for money. Unmatched attention. They didn't have a table but when they saw our interest in trying their cuisine they made room for us between shifts. They do not have a menu as such, they inform you of what they cook that day and you choose. A 10 to everything! We ordered salad, smoked salmon and rooster. "Well...I had been reading Alfies post on FB..and discovered they were offering a gluten free beef pie...they are well clued up on gf so messaged to book a table..hubby is coeliac.. Prompt response also offering to save a pie if that 's what Nick wanted..it is popular so best to book!..we arrived and were greeted by a friendly face and recognised our conversation via fb.our table was reserved in the shade as requested..it has been sooo hot..we ordered drinks..gf beer available...Nick had the gf beef pie and I had the 'normal ' beef pie...both were lush...a good size portion with chips and peas..very tasty and pastry was great..after chatting we discovered they also make gf cheesecakes etc to take out along with lots more...this restaurant is located in the los Coloradas area of Playa Blanca...we will be back..thank you for offering great gluten free options.."

"Lovely restaurant with a view over the sea, nice place to watch the ferries coming into port. Had a few nice meals here over the years but this year they seemed to be short of staff so sometimes there was a bit of a wait, not that we mind as more time to people watch. There seemed to be a bit of an atmosphere between the staff during our two visits during our second week but the food was still nice."

"We came across this restaurant by chance on the way to El Golfo. What a discovery!! Such a lovely outside area to eat or you can choose to sit inside the absolutely beautiful building. "The place seems like a bar, with a really nice view of playa Blanca and the surrounding areas. After visiting and stopping for a meal in February we couldn’t wait to come back. The fried rabbit was the best rabbit I ever had in my life. In February we had glad which unfortunately was unavailable at this time, which is unfortunate but it’s a good sign as it shows the freshness of the local products. You wouldn’t expect the food to be so good in this place, but it is. Topped with amazing views."

"New Restaurant, open for 2 months now! Absolutely delicious dinner here last night! This Chef can really cook! For those who love real authentic Mexican herbs like cumin, anis, clove, cilantro etc etc, this is definitely a must. Homemade fresh Quacamole, spicey salsa, etc etc. Nothing European, nothing American or English flavors! Just Mexican, the way Mexican food should be. The service is great, beautiful people who serve you like a Queen and King and the accommodation is not to big but bright and cheerful like a original Cantina in Mexico! The name is: Mariachi Mexican Food Tex Mex and is located on the Av. the Papagayo 79 Playa Blanca. Don't be misled by older reviews from 1 or 2 years ago, they are not relevant here. This restaurant is brandnew!"

"An absolute gem in the marina! We stayed at a hotel in the near vicinity but were not particularly impressed with the quality of food on offer. After a few days of giving them extra chances we made the decision to wander into the nearby town, and stumbled across this delightful establishment. The food was excellent and very good value for money. Quality home style cooking executed very well. The service was superb and the staff were extremely attentive. There is also a lovely view overlooking the marina, cannot recommend highly enough!"

"Did the usual holiday thing looking for menus that suited everyone. This place looked okay and was busy. To get a table for three we had to sit inside which turned out to be fine although we normally want to be outside. Table by a large window which was open so we had a nice elevated view and it was cool enough. Between us we had a classic burger, a chicken with mushroom sauce and a filet mignon. Food was excellent and plentiful. I had asked for the filet steak and the waiter suggested the mignon for a couple of euros extra. Two very nice sized chunks if steak cooked to melt in the mouth. My preference is medium to well done. I 'd say one piece was spot on and the second perhaps a little less well and more medium just a bit redder in the middle. Not an issue for me, I err on the safe side as sometimes I find medium is actually rare. We all were delighted with our meal and pleasantly surprised by how reasonable it was. A complimentary glass of honey rum came with the bill. I would definitely choose to eat here again without hesitation."
