"I've been talking about it for a while and until yesterday I hadn't managed to go. In the middle of the week and in a period with little tourism we managed to book easily and the place was obviously not crowded, in fact we enjoyed a room practically just for us. We didn't have a complete menu but limited ourselves to starters and first courses. To get an idea of the offer we chose the mixed starters (8 small courses and the Ascoli fish olives as well as the breaded anchovies. The eight courses with highs and lows did not excite us (perhaps the chickpeas but the meatball with colored potato could have been avoided! . Olives and anchovies will not remain in my memory for long! The first courses however were very welcome and in particular my pasta with clams was really good. We also had the tonnarelli with seafood, good but less exciting than the clams. Excellent service and very friendly staff, the place was not exactly clean (a few too many cobwebs on the lighting and dirty gazebo sheets so that it was not possible to see the outside well which overlooks the south pier of San Benedetto . Price slightly high when compared to the quality of the food, especially regarding the starters which did not convince us as expected. Parking: Few free parking spaces around the venue. A few hundred meters away is a large port car park and several paid car parks with blue lines."

"On July 10, 2023, my whole family went to the Il Rifugio dei Naviganti restaurant on Ponza Island. While the restaurant is in a beautiful place by the sea, we had some problems with the food and service. First, it was hard to order our meals. Some meals on the menu were not available because we came during the day. Also, the people who worked there didn 't speak much English, so we had to use Google Translate to communicate, which was not very helpful. One big issue was when we tried to order lobster from their aquarium. The price on the menu was confusing: /H. We later figured out that /H meant the price for 100 grams of lobster. When we expressed our concern about the seemingly high cost, the waiter hurried to the kitchen and returned with the sizzling lobster on a pan, delivering an emotional explanation that our order couldn 't be cancelled as they were already in the process of preparing it. We reassured him, and the order remained in place, after which we continued to wait for our dishes to be prepared. It made us feel like they were trying to trick tourists. Not having an English menu in a tourist spot is a big problem, and the meals didn 't seem worth the price we paid. In the end, we can 't recommend this restaurant because of the problems with the meals, the language issue, and the overall disappointing experience."
