"Tiny Montegemoli is charming, and the Osteria is its only business. It's worth the short drive from Pomerance, Volterra, or Cecina! Excellent Tuscan cuisine, and extremely local. Dad makes the meat, Mom makes the sauces and pasta, the daughter makes delicious desserts, the son hunts game and manages the front. The wild boar is delicious! The homemade paperdelle can be served with a variety of ragu from local game. We ordered a ton of dishes because we wanted to try as much as possible. We already have plans to return in a week. Don't forget the sides our kids loves the artichokes, and you must have the simple Tuscan bean dish, cooked in tomatoes and sage, it's the world's best comfort food. My husband and i fought over the polenta with gorgonzola sauce. Also, the fried bread that came with the meal was perfectly seasoned. I highly recommend any crostata that's on the menu, they are delicious and a visual treat. Not expensive either! There is plenty of parking in the lot just across the street, tucked behind the recycling area."
