"Adoro l'Italia e ho grandi ricordi con essa, ma la mia visita a questo ristorante martedì ha sicuramente scosso le mie convinzioni. Il cibo non era male, ma il servizio era terribile. Era difficile comunicare. Non parlo neanche italiano. Ma il modo in cui il servizio è al di sotto di qualsiasi livello era che eravamo in 5, un ordine è stato dimenticato. Dopo due richieste, è stato finalmente portato senza scuse. Abbiamo ordinato dell'acqua che non è stata portata, alla fine è stata fatta su richiesta. Due acque sono state conteggiate sul conto. Quando ho fatto notare questo, mi è stato rimborsato senza commento. Inoltre, volevano aggiungere un caffè che non avevo ordinato. Secondo me, se sei un turista non visitare mai questo luogo vile. Il servizio è scortese e non educato."

"I am visiting Rome for the first time and while I don’t Mind Italian food, it has never really been my first choice. I had a few decent Italian dishes while on a food tour so on the last day of my trip I decided I would try an Italian restaurant as my grand finale. After reviewing different menus within the square, and being invited into them, I decided I would try Virgilio. The hostess who was outside soliciting customers was nice and about to seat me at a table and a man with a white shirt with black tie who I had seen at the tables while I had been in the square stopped her. In Italian, he told her something and with a stern face shook his head. She then turned to me with a disappointed face (as if not wanting to upset me) but situationally aware, I understood that he did not want me there. I looked at him and simply said: “Don’t worry about it.” and walked away because I refuse to beg someone to provide a service that I would be paying for. I walked around for a few minutes but wanted management aware of what had happened so I returned. It was then that another young lady who was serving tables advised me that He (the man who denied my seating) Was the manager (so I knew that my complaint would be falling on deaf ears and I left. I am rather disappointed because I did not have breakfast with the intention of having a hearty lunch before my evening flight. This was a rather unfortunate irreparable experience."

"I wish I was exaggerating this was the MOST delicious meal I had in Italy! Not sure why this restaurant isn't Michelin rated! Goes to show the simplicity of Southern Italian cuisine is far better than the most renowned restaurants. I didn't have to reach for any added salt or pepper and for those who know me, that says A LOT. The lemon sauce for the pasta was so addictive that I wish I had more bread to sop it up. Anyway, TLDR you MUST eat here!"

"We went to this restaurant one lunchtime in October in 2022. Best margarita pizza and tomato pasta we had ever had. We just came back to Sorrento today and searched for La Basilica. We eventually found it. My wife had La Basilica pizza and I had Scialatielli allo scoglio (clams, mussels, king prawn cooked in a sauce that tasted like it had been cooked for days in a slow cooker . We had a tiramisu also. All wine and food as amazing as before. Staff were fantastic as well. All i can say to them is Bravo! Grazia! Salut! We will be back. Probably tomorrow :"

"Miglior ristorante a Roma! Abbiamo trascorso una serata piacevole e gustosa, l'abbiamo scoperto mentre passeggiavamo per le strade. "Ristorante con una varietà di opzioni, tra cui insalate, pasta (niente pizza), carne, frutti di mare, dessert e bevande, tra le altre. A livello di prezzi è costoso come qualsiasi altro locale a Positano, ma rispetto ai ristoranti vicini è più economico. Il cibo è discreto, un po' unto e fritto in eccesso, ma non è male e le porzioni sono ragionevoli. Infine, il servizio è attento e veloce, e l'ambiente è accogliente. In generale, è una molto buona opzione se non si vuole spendere troppo a Positano."

"Ho avuto il piacere di visitare questa antica hostaria durante il mio recente soggiorno a Roma e devo dire che l'esperienza è stata assolutamente fantastica. Situata in una stradina di Via del Corso, l'hostaria ha un'atmosfera accogliente e autentica che ti fa sentire subito a casa. Il cibo è semplicemente delizioso. Sono stato abbastanza fortunato da assaporare l'amatriciana, un piatto tradizionale della cucina romana, e l'agnello, tutto preparato con abilità e ingredienti freschi. Ogni boccone è stato un viaggio nel gusto e nella tradizione culinaria romana. Ma ciò che ha davvero reso speciale la mia visita è stata l'ospitalità del personale. Dal momento in cui sono entrato, sono stato accolto con un sorriso caloroso e un servizio impeccabile. Il personale era non solo cordiale e disponibile, ma anche estremamente professionale, fornendo raccomandazioni sui piatti e assicurandosi che ogni mia esigenza fosse soddisfatta. "We arrived here straight from the airport, since we had a reservation and didn't want to be late. I like the fact that the door is full of awards and mentions, it's a nice touch, but it raises the expectations a lot. Restaurant is typical italian, cramped with old tables and loud atmosphere, but this is why you go to Italy. Table was still available and we were sat and promptly greeted by our server. We ordered some water and wine first Appetizers were: bruschetta with some tomato sauce and prosciutto and the other one was some kind of thinly sliced Porchetta with a cabbage salad. Both were tasty Mâine courses were: Pasta with ragu for me and another type of pasta, beautifully shaped with ricotta filling and some honey sauce on the bottom. Both were very delicious, especially with extra parmiggiano. The desert however was not for my taste because the pistachio tiramisu came a bit warm...? I don't know if this is how it should have been or a mistake. Tasted ok, but I was expecting it cold. Overall I do recommend this place, it's nice, welcoming, italian. "Forse un po' turistico, ma in una posizione meravigliosa sulla piazza dove potevamo sederci all'aperto e assorbire l'atmosfera.
