"As guests staying in the hotel it was an easy decision to take dinner here on one evening of our stay. Seating is either indoors or on the covered terrace, and as it was Saturday there was a singer accompanied by a couple of musicians; they were all surprisingly good and added to the special atmosphere of the place. We opted for the a la carte as we felt that the pricing for the tasting menus was on the high side for a 1* (in fact they are not dissimilar to a 2* . The food was well prepared and of a very solid 1* standard, using a lot of homegrown produce which is always nice to see. The fish main course could have had a slightly larger portion size as it was a main course rather than part of a tasting menu. The desserts were of a particularly high standard; some aspects showed more technique and finesse than the other courses it is always good to see a strong pastry section. The service was very good throughout the dinner and it was a very pleasant evening. I'd certainly recommend dining here if you are staying at the hotel."
