"I was surprised to see that most of the reviews were by English speakers, though it is in a very prime position for tourists walking back from the Palace. But having read the reviews, if I owned the cafe I'd employ a few more English speaking staff. Mind you, it wasn't a problem. The waiter laughed when we commented on the menu item of kangaroo, and said we were Australian, and we had an excellent rapport from then on. The food is not bad value considering the location we had the plat du jour of bavette steak, frites, salad, dessert. Bavette is a tricky steak to make edible unless you cook it long and slow. So medium medium rare in effect) was OK, so long as you don't mind cutting off small pieces and chewing them. But the flavour was great, the pepper sauce was very tasty and the chips were much better than most. Not soggy, crisp and double fried. The creme caramel was lovely. And we were are) in France when the new Beaujolais is in, so we had a half carafe of that. Quite a treat. And nice clean toilets unusually, separate male and female toilets). I would go back here, because it's not small and cramped, the staff are friendly, and they let me got back and use the toilet later on before I got the bus back to St Remy les Chevreuse that's not the only reason, but it is a plus)"

The menu selection was good but they were out of the first two items I ordered. Service as good and English was understood with menu selections in English also. The food was good but was a bit over priced. 4.5 euro for a small bottle of Perrier was a bit steep.

The Adelaide Cafe we visited during happy hour which is from 17.00 to 19.30. The offer only was for Kronenburg a pint was 4.5euros, who would pay 9euros for a pint equivalent to £7. So make sure you drink during happy hour. Monitors was also on offer during happy hour. Food was reasonable and English was understood and there was a menu in English.

Birthday visit (not that we told them). But we picked this restaurant as we live in Adelaide. Waiter and owner very excited to hear and see we lived in the namesake of the cafe, although many many mile away in australia and not related to Queen adelaide.Food was nice - pizza and pasta and a mojito. First restaurant meal in a 6 week trip around Europe.

We had the usual croissant and coffee for breakfast and looked at the menu for the evening. Didn't expect too much food wise and do you know what got average food. The staff were really friendly and spoke perfect English unlike my pigeon French. Menu varied but drinks very reasonable and good quality. Good ambiance, service with a smile and all said and done okay.

We had a pleasant meal here. The waitress soon worked out we were English so spoke in English most if the time. Very attentive. The kids option had Chicken fillet but it didn't say there was BBQ sauce on it. Just a tip but put it in a small dish like my steak sauce on the side? Lovely food if a little pricey deserts, 7.50 euros for a melt in the middle chocolate pudding

The restaurant is situated slightly away from all of the quaint tourist ones. It is quite spacious which I like and was not very busy when we visited. The menu has a nice variety and our starters were very nice with generous portions. Conversely the main course was only average size portions and my filet mignonette could have been a bit more tender. Overall not bad but there are probably better restaurants to choose from.

After twelve days in France we were over battling with restaurants not making an effort to assist English speaking tourists and so it was an immediate yes when we were shown a menu in English. Staff also had reasonable English, we're pleasant and keen to ensure we felt looked after. We ordered off the alarcarte menu, had wine and coffee and enjoyed the food immensely. The mixed grill of steak, lamb chop and duck was superb. My wife's seafood risotto was called a salmon risotto but she got better than she expected. The young waitress was concerned about the coffee order (my wife is very particular) and when checking seemed thrilled that she had got it right. All in all a most pleasant experien...

Looking for a specific restaurant but finding it closed down, we stopped off here for drinks while deciding where else to go to eat. A long days travelling, a very hot October evening and a thirst, led to my succumbing to advertising and going against the norm while in France of ordering a large beer. The sign on the street by our table said Happy Hour, 1700 1930, 0.5L Kronenbourg €4.50 I succumbed and ordered, my wife perhaps more sensibly chosing a simple glass of red. The 0.5L arrived, I drank..... don 't know what they had done to the Kronenbourg didn 't taste like that beer to me... had it gone off ? Don 't know, didn 't taste vinegary but was not pleasant. Surly owner/barman who served...

Early morning, and after wandering the streets of Versailles and being in need of sustenance, my wife and I flopped onto the first set of chairs available and ordered a coffee each. It was The Adelaide. Good coffee, pleasant service, sun shining, excellent. Later that day, daughter and granddaughter wanted Pasta for lunch. Finally found... yes, you've guessed it.. The Adelaide. An excellent pasta all round. Good service, friendly bi-lingual staff, clean toilets. Excellent. Next day.. After a hard treck in the Chateau, and after walking out of another restaurant after being ignored for half an hour, we arrived at The Adelaide. Salads for the vegetarians, a nice bit of meat for me. Our waiter...
