"I went to Albany Fish bar today with my daughter, the service was appalling! The one guy took my order and his colleague was having an argument/discussion with him about a transaction he had just done and how he didn 't know how to use the contactless machine. I had said my order but my order was not getting any attention, I don 't think he even acknowledged it! So another guy 5 minutes later rudely said what 's your order? I said I 've been served already, he again said yes what is it, I retold my order. The hold up in the shop was being taken out on me, it wasn 't my faulr, but it gets worse! I asked for 2 large fish and chips in takeaway boxes originally, so the guy serving me began wrapping them up, I said I asked for them to be in boxes not wrapped. This is where the four of the workers all started to ganging up on me and told me I hadn 't asked for boxes. I said I did because we always get this, however the guy giving me the most hassle was too busy sorting out his colleagues previous transaction problem!!! Then another guy said these boxes are expensive we can 't just give them out. I said are you serious? I am happy to pay for it. They went on to say yes love next time ask for a box etc etc. By now I said, stuff your food I 'll go elsewhere. I went to The Wellfield, better fish and chips and service was excellent! NOTE TO OWNER; invest in better respectful workers and perhaps get your workers to go on some training in customer service. Maybe they might learn a thing or two about respecting women along the way too! Needless to say I won 't be going there again! The men are patronising, rude and condescending. Off putting before you even get your food is the people that serve you."

Today went in to buy chicken and chips twice , was given one large chips one chicken all wrapped up. Paid £15 to find only one chicken.?we were too far away to go back. Award winning not thieves. Watch out customers

Ordered from here today and it was horrible. Soggy cold chips and sausage and parts of our order were missing. The food that was there were mostly cold. My kids ended up throwing most of it in the bin. For £40 you would expect alot better. Definitely would not recommend this place. Visualizza piatti

Visited this evening for my tea, I ordered chips, curry sauce and jumbo sausage. The jumbo sausage was very salty and the chip were stale and very dry. I paid almost £6 for the meal and at first the server gave me a scoop of chips. Im not one for normally complaining but this was so poor quality I have to mention something.

Ordered takeaway from them tonight and they missed ideas of the order. I made them aware and they said they provided them and it was my mistake. I normally would bother challenging it but it was my 5 years olds items they missed! When I started to challenge the person to say they hadn’t provided the full order they said they didn’t understand me and it was my error. Terrible service and the way the individual spoke to me was disgusting.

The guy on the till spoke with such aggression, Underneath my fish I found a lemon, I did not ask for this citrus fruit with my fish and chips It was quite a surprise for my stinging sore salt drenched lips. I asked for only a little salt and vinegar I'm not a fan of the taste, apologies Gary Lineker For my dinner I did not expect the taste of walkers crisps I just fancied a normal large cod and chips. I asked for a tub of Irish curry They must have forgotten in their flailing disorganised hurry The guy started a conversation with me on my way out I just wanted to leave, never to return without a shadow of a doubt. Have used this Fish Chip shop for many years but a good few recent times have been a hit and miss affair. Something of this nature would not have happened in the 80s as the same family own this Shop. New younger generation that aren’t as good as their older family at delivering the quality and the service. It’s a great shame because this really was the best around ! Chips were Ok but the two pieces of large cod well one was def not a large but that was not the worst it was saturated with oil dreadful overcooked it looked like. I am a Muslim hijabi girl and I ordered fish and chips yesterday in the afternoon and it’s Ramadan(fasting period) and the guy who gave me my food after I payed made a very disrespectful comment asking me “Are you ordering for iftaar?” And i said yes and then he responded with “ aren’t you ordering a bit early? Iftaar is later in the evening it’s afternoon now.” He was implying that I am ordering to eat it now because he is assuming I am on my period, as girls don’t fast during the month if they are on their period! "It was the most bizarre experience dining here. First when we arrived in the restaurant, our group set up was that there was someone on each end who was sitting facing an empty chair on the other side of the table. Upon enquiry we understood it was a covid measure, however never had any other restaurants requesting such seating arrangements in the past 20 months. We ordered two split pots, a non-spicy broth for one side of the pot and a spicy broth for the other side. The staff came to confirm that we wanted spicy/non-spicy in each pot. Yes, we said. To our shock when the pots came, one pot was spicy/spicy on both side, and the other was non-spicy/non-spicy on both sides. This was after the staff had came by to confirm that we wanted a spicy/non-spicy set-up, and in the usual situation a person wanting a spicy broth would not have asked for a split pot. We raised this to the staff and were clearly unhappy about it, though did not insist on having the broths changed around. What happened next made it the most awkward and uncomfortable dining experience ever. From where we were sitting, we could hear the owner reprimanding the staff for the error, throughout our meal. We understand mistakes occur and if the owner was unhappy about the mistake and genuinely wanted to apologise, taking the initiative to change the broth to the right setup, or a complimentary drink or dish would have gone a long way. But no, he chose to reprimand the staff within our hearing for the whole dinner (which didn't help the situation one bit and made the experience worse! . We felt sorry for the staff. Even with the hospitality shortage, that was a completely wrong way to help the staff improve, nor help retain them in the long run. I don't remember anything about the food, although photos did show a good range to choose from. At the end of the meal we each received a box of hello panda, which might have helped, if not for the fact they were expired. All in all, would not recommend."
