"Thank you trip advisor for another great recommendation! Amanda's is a van so don't expect anything else but my goodness this has got to be the best van food in the country! We followed the recommendation and were surprised not to find a cafe but I'm so glad we stopped. The food was delicious, great quality produce (don't know what a previous reviewer was referring to and a great price. Everything was cooked to order and we had a great chat with Amanda and her fella (sorry I didn't learn your name! . The couple clearly knew all their customers and they had plenty of those. I can see why- I wish I lived in the area so I could be back more frequently. If you want a good meal at a great price travel the few moments off the A6- it's well worth the tiny diversion!"

Stopped there a few times now on the way to work and never a complaint. Great service and fantastic food. My new stopping place when passing.

Got one of these on my way to work and it was great and the guy that served me was friendly and even asked how I wanted the bacon cooked, will definitely be back!

We have sampled breakfast baps from numerous venues throughout Lancaster... but Amanda's baps surpass all of them! You've got yourself another satisfied and regular customer! Thank you from Jan and Co : #Techno-tard Visualizza piatti

In my oppinion a bad move, people will pay extra for good quality food. The extra cost should be introduce as and when the ingredient cost increse. not as an accumulated lump sum. But to keep the price low by reducing the quality makes one wonder if it is worth the extra journey.

My wife and I decided to stop at this restaurant off the M6 for brunch. The food was delicious and the service was friendly, just as we had heard from other reviews. We believe that the stellar rating is well-deserved. We are even considering planning our trips to ensure we can stop by when they are open.

This restaurant offers a typical variety of food for a roadside stop, but it is done perfectly. The establishment is clean, the food is of high quality, and there is plenty of it. The owners, a very friendly couple, serve delicious meals, especially Amanda's baps. We will definitely be returning the next time we are in the area. Visualizza piatti

Stopped off for a bacon bap and coffee after a stroll by the River Lune. Super little fast food caravan, very clean and in a great spot for parking. Amanda is beautiful, friendly and very chatty, her husband can cook bacon to perfection, so it's a winning combination. Worth stopping whenever you're on the road from Lancaster to Caton.

Hubby was only going to Screwfix in Morecambe but seeing we are have no kitchen at the moment he diverted to Amanda’s to surprise me with a bacon bap. I have to say I am now a total convert. Loads of bacon on a bap that lived up to the legend. Still hot when it arrived here after hot footing it down the Bay Gateway! We will be back in the next few days whilst the new kitchen gets fitted. I may not need lunch today....

"I stayed here during my 2023 John O'Groats to Lands End ride, when I was accompanied by my wife and 13 year old son, who were acting as support crew. The Sun Hotel is a quirky boutique hotel housed in an historic building with extensive accommodation located above the pub and accessed via a unique flight of stairs and a labyrinth of intriguing corridors set out on different floors. Indeed, as you wander through, you are able to learn much about its character and history from many informative notes displayed on the walls. We shared a snug family room with a camp bed for our son but we were very comfortable. Our ensuite bathroom was clean and bright with a bath, shower and toiletries provided. The usual kettle, tea and coffee were provided but with limited alternative options. Make sure you turn off the provided digital alarm clock before slumbers unless you need an early start! There are truly are some larks out there. The room was a little noisy overnight where it was overlooking the street at the front – a combination of late night revellers and morning deliveries – but this is to be expected when you stay in the heart of a city. Lancaster was literally right on our doorstep. The staff were incredibly welcoming and approachable even before our stay responding promptly to any queries we had. We enjoyed dinner in the pub on the ground floor which was not overly noisy with a good atmosphere and attentive staff. The food was good and inexpensive, especially if you share a platter. Having booked direct with the hotel, our stay included breakfast from a set menu, served in the bar area downstairs. This was extensive ranging from the traditional cooked full English breakfast to many plant based and fruit alternatives, including pancakes, acai smoothie and granola jar. It is advisable to pre book this the night before to reduce waiting times in the morning if you are in a rush. Tea, coffee and fruit juice freely available The hotel is found on a complicated one way system with heavy traffic but well handled by Google. The cycle route approaches on quiet canal path but I did push up a one way street to the hotel rather than cycle a circuitous route around the one way. The only drawback is that there is no onsite parking not a problem if you only have a bike. At the time of our stay, there was paid street parking outside the hotel on the road for up to 1 hr or free overnight from 6 pm until 8 am. We would advise checking Google for parking locations beforehand to find alternatives, especially if the recommended nearby multi storey parking is not suitable because of a roof box, etc. My bike was locked away in a cellar inside, down a steep flight of stairs and only accessible by staff."
