Free House with a good range of local ales and good food at reasonable prices. Owner, Malcolm and staff are friendly and make everyone welcome. Well worth a visit

We popped in for a very late lunch. We had the tower burger, and it was delicious, the tastiest burger we have had for a long while. The manager was very welcoming and only took it over 6 months ago, and has plans to refurbish the building. We wish him well, and thanks for the hospitality.

Although the pub is a bit old-fashioned, the owner Malcolm informed us of his plans to renovate it during the winter. We visited every night and were always warmly welcomed by him, engaging in pleasant conversations. The selection of real ales was delightful, and the food was both delicious and reasonably priced. We stopped at this restaurant while on a campervan trip and had a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and welcoming, taking the time to engage with us. My husband, son, and I were treated well, enjoying a delicious meal and a wide selection of drinks. The added bonus of a wood burner provided a cozy spot to relax after a long journey. The Anglers Arms was a welcoming oasis in the darkness. We loved it and would definitely recommend it.

Arrived at 2pm on October Sunday afternoon. Good location. We were able to get a table and pub was reasonably busy. Bar person was on her phone when there were 3 customers queuing at the bar more than once. Food order took 50mins to be served (chilli and tower burger) Lots of diners left whilst we waited for our food to be made so no idea what the delay was. once food arrived, it was just it ok same quality as a McDonalds etc but with 4 x the wait.

Went to the pub after a walk around Kielder forest. First impressions of the pub were that it’s more of a social club than a pub, and seemed a little lacking in atmosphere…..but….a pint in (of very good Black Sky , along with some snacks from possibly the best snack selection I have ever seen in a pub, and also a very extensive jukebox, and….I liked it. My partner and I stopped by with our dog after a lovely evening stroll in the stunning Kielder area. The staff were incredibly friendly and provided excellent service, and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food (we tried the sharing platter). The decor might need a bit of a refresh, but the atmosphere was still lively as the restaurant filled up with hikers, bikers, and campers. It's a perfect spot for those staying at the Kielder campsite or overnighting in a motorhome at the castle car park.

We came up to Kielder for a camping trip and a few people on the site told us to go and try out the food at the local pub. We had a delicious home made pizza each and they were lovely. The pub had a lovely vibe and atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and polite. We met the landlord Malcom who as it turns out has had a few of the pubs we know of. Despite it being quite busy he took the time to chat with us and find out where we were from. We have booked to go back next season and are really looking forwards to it. We definitely recommend anyone up this way to go and try the food and the local ales at the Anglers Arms. Perfect!

Had rebooked tickets for Kielder Observatory and planned on going down to the waterside cafe after a lunch at The Pheasant Inn. Unfortunately, there was a marathon that closed off most of the area! We stumbled upon the Anglers and I asked the bar manager if we could spend an hour or two while we waited for the observatory opening time no problem! Ordered drinks, sat down and chatted with some other people there and we all remarked on the atmosphere being similar to a favoured place near us kind of wished we had made it for food as it looked very good! The manager spent a few minutes chatting as we were leaving just to explain how he had really wanted to make positive changes to the place and... Visualizza piatti
