Antica Casa Della Malvasia

Located in a romantic little alleyway, this is a true Italian dining experience that hit all of the right high notes and met every expectation. Simple, no frills good service with an excellent menu and wine selection.

Today we had a lunch with our friends. We arrived without reservation but the waiters found us three tables, two for the guys and one for the adults. We tried many differents dishes but we all agreed they were all excellent. Well done.

Se vieni a Vicenza, vieni qui a mangiare! Appena fuori dalla piazza, non affollato di turisti, e un po' più tranquillo rispetto alla piazza. Ottima posizione, cibo incredibile, e un'atmosfera super romantica e speciale. Sarei sorpreso se non ti piacesse!

A good dinner in a large and busy restaurant with tables outside in a little piazza just off the Piazza Signori-interesting wine list and some good cooking, especially the stuffed courgette flowers, the octopus and the lamb. Although it is large, it looked as if we have been well advised to book.

L'unico ristorante a Vicenza che non abbiamo apprezzato. L'accoglienza e il servizio erano i peggiori che entrambi potessimo ricordare in molti anni di viaggi in Italia. La donna in carica era incredibilmente scortese e, come abbiamo osservato, non solo con il nostro tavolo. Evitate a tutti i costi.

This restaurant offered our tour party of 25 a group meal at fairly short notice but provided we accepted a very limited set menu. There were very few positive comments about the food, the fish risotto came in for most criticism and even less about the wine (which was served in a carafe). We were charged 40 Euros a head for a below average meal.

in questo luogo abbiamo certamente mangiato un merluzzo mantecato e un merluzzo alla vicentina degna di tradizione. molto appetitoso, porzioni corrette, in breve esperienza molto positiva. il posto che devo dire un po' buio, cortese e ospitale ma nn molto empatico. siamo del centro d'Italia e abbiamo notato dall'avvento, ci sarebbe piaciuto un maggiore interlocuzione, che nel posto una piccola mancanza. nulla toglie ai piatti eccellenti.

Sono stato al mercato di Vicenza oggi con alcune belle signore. Una di loro ha suggerito questo piccolo posto per il pranzo ed è stato fantastico. Anche se sembrava che facesse 100 gradi fuori, l'ombra degli edifici e il flusso dell'vicolo consentivano una bella brezza mentre pranzavamo. Abbiamo scelto tutte insalate diverse e nessuna è rimasta delusa. Eran tutte deliziose. Ho avuto l'insalata greca con un toccasana di aceto balsamico e olio sul tavolo, ed era così grande che non sono riuscito a finirla. Non mi lamento però. Se avessi avuto più spazio avrei mangiato tutto! Anche il loro rosso dell casa è un must. Ancora non riesco a credere quanto siano buoni e convenienti i vini della casa...

I know Malvasia for a long time and I've eaten there many many years ago. It has a good reputation and it is always recommended to visitors. I had lunch there with my mom. We ate in the quiet alley which leads to Piazza dei Signori where Antica Casa della Malvasia has few tables it is narrow, tucked in and quite charming I have to say. My mom is a retired successful chef and I always have problems to take her to places because she is a very strict critique. We has scallops, which I liked but she did not care much for but she admired the sauce it came with, we shared the shrimp salad, which was very good and we also shared the lam which was the highlight.
