"I would encourage any admirer of Federico Lorca to come and visit his family homes, both now museums, in Fuente Vaqueros and Valderrubio. They are both situated a short drive west of the city of Granada which houses the most famous and accessible of the Lorca properties. Both museums are well worth a visit and both shut at lunchtime, around 2:00, which brings me to the restaurant. The restaurant is situated on the main road about half way between Fuente Vaqueros and Valderrubio. It is a proper asador specialising in roast meat. It is not a particularly fancy establishment and its main business comes from the local agricultural workers. If you go inside you will see the large spit used to roast the meat. There is a shaded outside area and on a hot day this is the obvious place to eat. Well, my wife and I have eaten here on three separate occasions and always left happy. It seems that a pig is roasted and chopped up into various bits and depending on what time you arrive, and the taste of the first to arrive, will determine what choice you have. I had a delicious rack of ribs the first time but they were off the menu when I arrived late the second and third time we came. There are other tasty rustic options such as rabbit in garlic oil as well as morcilla, chorizo etc. You can of course stop here for a drink and snack and although I mention the Lorca connection It's not much of a detour for those travelling to Granada from Malaga or Seville via the A92. It's great country food and wine at very affordable prices. Highly recommended."

Carne increíblemente buena hecha en horno de leña. La tarta de queso riquisima y lo que nunca hemos probado pero todo recomiendan… el brownie. Todo como en casa

Lo que menos me gustó es que fuera hay muchas moscas, deberían poner algún artilugio, entiendo que al aire libre es complicado pero se puede reducir el exceso de moscas

Bar familiar, platos bastante contundentes y muy ricos, especialmente las patatas de guarnición, nosotros comimos de menú y todo genial por solo 22€ con pan, postre y bebida, muy recomendable.

Buenas tapas, mejor cocina y carnes a la brasa, muy buen trato y un servicio que te hace sentir cercano, el que no lo conozca ya debería de no dejar para más tarde el probarlo. Muy recomendable.

El rey de la venta es el pollo a la brasa, exquisito, barato y una buena ración para no pedir nada más. La atención por parte de Guillermo muy correcta e informando, rapidez y eficacia. Es importante reservar y ser puntuales ya que este lugar está muy solicitado. Volveré.

Thanks, Welsh Toro, for reviewing this place. Otherwise we might have eaten lunch in Fuente Vaqueros after visiting the Garcia Lorca birthplace. The restaurants there looked a little dodgy, and Asador la Venta proved to be much better, and we would not have know about it without your review. The food was OK, the service was friendly, and the patio was pleasant for a leisurely lunch.
