"I have only been here once, last summer, with an Aussie Italian friend and we both loved the place. Wonderful food, divine antipasti and pizza, with equally great service. They took our coats on entry and looked after us impeccably. Tucked away on a smart residential street close to Notting Hill and Bayswater stations, this is a beautifully intimate place to dine. Prices are pretty reasonable for what is a very expensive part of London. I will visit again next time I'm in the area and recommend this place, especially for couples."

Italy is one of my favorite countries and one of my biggest complaints being in London is that I always struggle to find authentic Italian food here! Ta da!!! This restaurant is it! When a simple tomato pasta can blow you away you know you are somewhere real

The service and food was very good here, the starters in particular were brilliant! all seasonal produce and expertly created. There were no pasta dishes on the menu, just FYI. I was slightly upset that the £30 main courses came with no vegetables and so a very small bowl of broccoli and carrots cost £10 extra

Best italian in london. Simply the best. The owner chef deals with each guest and tries to understand what best to make them happy. He is a great person. By the way my house is close by and I see every-morning how they purchase fresh and special selected food. They are just great and now have stone-oven for pizza as well. Don’t miss. unsafe. the best place to eat high quality authentic Italian cuisine from the best ingredients. I'd rather go to a cheaper place once than three times. not easy to get in as there are very few tables, so book well in advance. we had super fresh white crumb meat with lime juice, incredible narrow haare pasta with fresh herbs and walnuts, calf liver with fried sage, meeresbass and then a super ricotta cake with blood orange sauce.

assaggi is located in a next street somewhere between bayswater and notting hill. it is small and inconceivable, with only one handful of tables where the well peeled inhabitants enjoy one of the rare authentic Italian restaurants in london. this restaurant feels like it's air-promoted from a good quarter in rom and fell as in its current British environment. the dishes are very simple and very well made with high quality ingredients as they should be. I will definitely go back!

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
