"I had recently visited Atesh and I was so disappointed by lack of staff training and their hygiene. I witnessed the staff picking up the fork of the floor and placing it in customers plate . When I addressed it they were so rude and racist toward me . Staff were pickup their nose inside the bar and not even washing their hands . I asked to speak to the manger or the owner and he didn’t even bother to come out and speak to us . Food is tasteless and blend. Over cooked veg and under cooked meat. Chicken were pink.Staff were so rude and consistently making racial comment about other tables and making inappropriate comment about two Asian couple. None of the staff speak even a basic English so you can’t even have conversations with them . I would never recommend this place for families with small kids. They have no baby changing facilities as it was locked and in none of the toilets had soaps and hand sanitizer. When we were leaving we saw the owner sitting at the bar and drinking . How unprofessional."

The best Turkish around. The meats are so juicy and flavoursome. Great portions and great ambience in the place. Staff are very friendly

The service in this restaurant is absolutely awful and the staff are very rude. The food isn’t of a good standard either and I would highly recommend people not to visit, or have a takeaway.

Me and Sister celebrated our 50 th birthday with friends and family. The service was impeccable as well as the food. The staff were so accommodating and flexible, friendly and welcoming. Great place. Everyone said they enjoyed the food and night. Very good value too and lovely decor and clean.

We often go to this restaurant and were thrilled when we received an email to say due to the current situation they were delivering. As always it was fabulous food and fast delivery.I really hope more people request delivery or takeaway from this fabulous restaurant.Thank you so much, it was wonderful.

My first visit today. I went mid afternoon with 2 friends for a late lunch on Saturday and was very pleased. I had calamari, chicken wings and a lemon dessert. All were lovely, 4 large calamari on rocket, approx 8 well seasoned chicken wings with rice and a nice side salad and the dessert was crisp and light. The staff were attentive without being over the top. It was nice and warm and the toilets were clean. We didn't feel rushed. Would go again!

Went to the restaurant with the whole family , though the food was good but service was extremely poor and the staff and manger was rude. Had to go to the staff to get there attention. When I complained to the manger about the service, his response was ‘ the staff are older than you so I can’t complain’, and after said that they make enough money and I don’t need to come again after I said service needs to improve . WOULD NOT GO AGAIN IF YOU WANT A GOOD SERVICE AND HAPPY STAFF.

Visited for Father’s Day. The food is mediocre really. Not flavourful. The service was dire and rude. Felt pretty rushed which isn’t nice at all. Ordered what was on the menu as “fried aubergine” but comes as a cold mezze slimy ragu sauce type bowl of gunk with barely any aubergine in. When my husband asked the waiter he looked angry and fed up and raised his voice to say “that is fried aubergine. It’s a cold starter”. The point is if you say it’s “fried” it sort of gives an indication the item is fried. Not slimy wet and squishy. A bowl of tomato and pepper and onion sauce is what we got. Bizarre place. Too noisy far far too noisy. They don’t understand music is not to be blasted throughout...

Visited here with a friend mid-week for dinner, we pre-booked and are glad we did as we arrived at about 6.30pm but an hour later the place was heaving. Seated near the window, service was great we ordered a bottle of Red and 2 Chicken Shish dishes. Wine arrived in good time and was pretty reasonable price-wise. Food arrived and was amazing, fresh, piping hot and served well. Chicken Shish with Rice, Salad Wrap. Large portions but well worth the £13 price tag.Service was good; friendly without being too intrusive, service did dip off a little bit after we ate and were left a long time with the plates in front of us and weren't asked if we wanted more drinks etc but that is a minor.Service ch...

We went to this restaurant today, a large group of us. The restaurant was very clean and stylish and we were excited about trying the food. Sadly, the waiter was so rude that I would never come back. I will also share this with anyone I know. I asked for soup, which they do not sell, so I agreed to have shish chicken but asked if I could have chips instead of rice. I just got a rude reply that he was unable to move rice off a plate and put chips on instead. I had asked this, as I had had a operation and could not eat rice, but he was not interested in that. He then proceeded to ignore me for the whole meal. He was rude and abrupt to my friends. Never ever will I ever come back here. I go to...

"I hadn't been here since my mother brought me as a teenager in 1965, when it was the Chalet Suisse. We were welcomed by a waitress seeing us coming and opening the door for us, ushered to a table by the window. We both had a fish dish, myself a crab-stuffed fillet of plaice, my wife a seabass paella with mussels. My plaice was succulently fresh, with a subtly spiced filling and sauce, The new potatoes were perfect. My wife is from a fishing family in Brittany so really knows her fish, and her saffron paella met with unconditional approval. The buckshee bread chunks in a basket already on the table were left, so I could enjoy mopping up the last of the lovely flavour of the juice. After polishing off the little extra pot of sweet potato fries, for dessert we had a special, Eton Mess, and banana cream profiteroles, which we swapped half way through, just gorgeous, and a filter coffee to finish off. With a couple of beers all for a fraction over £50 this was extraordinary value. This was no ordinary pub-chain grub. Every dish had something unusual and special to commend it, whether the spicy crab or the tart passionfruit syrup setting off the usually overwhelmingly sweet Eton Mess. This was proper cooking by someone who really knows their stuff, nicely presented but without fuss. Our fellow diners were all friendly and accomodating in a fairly small space, some engaging in jolly conversation with us. The service was attentive, kind. and unobtrusive. There was music but not overly loud and the atmosphere was relaxed and unhurried. I've heard this place mentioned by others before over the years and very much wish we'd made the effort to visit before now, our wedding anniversary. We will go again for sure, and take others with us too!"

"This is a small, very nice, non-chain coffee shop selling tea, coffee, some savoury sandwiches plus snacks and cakes. (Not to be confused with 'Smoothbean ' which is also in Croydon and also very good, but the two have no connection.)What 's good about it? It 's non-chain, so you 're actually dealing with nice people offering good service, not just wage slaves at the front end of a vast, impersonal corporation. The quality of the tea and coffee is as good as anywhere else. The service is warm, human, friendly and personal. The staff are efficient and helpul but also pleasantly informal. They don 't have a very wide selection of things to eat. However, what they DO have is all very nice and good value, whether you want savoury and healthy or sweet and indulgent. I loved the little 'bakesmiths ' cakes they sell that say 'made by hand in small batches ' on the label. What 's maybe not so good? Well, it 's not in what you 'd call a great location. Plus it 's really small. Upstairs (at street level) there are just two small tables and space for maybe five or six people at most (assuming some don 't mind sitting at the window). Downstairs, there are a chairs and sofas providing room for about eight people, although it 's a bit cramped. All in all, the think to love about Crushed Bean is the tone, the atmosphere, the fact that it 's small, friendly and informal and run by human beings rather than branded corporate drones intent on hitting targets. Go there at a not-too-busy time and you can enjoy a little bit of peace and quiet and know that you 're choosing to support a small, independent coffee shop and not one of the behemoth chains. Bonus good point #1: if you ask for your milk on the side, it comes in a miniature milk bottle. This cute touch should be standard practice but isn 't.Bonus good point #2: They offered me a free tea refill. Nowhere else that I 've been to does this.Bonus good point #3: They are right opposite Cake Box, a wonderful emporium of gloriously unhealthy options."
