"Six of us ate here on our holiday staying in nearby Tourtoirac. The waiting staff were friendly and eager to please and helped out our slightly halting French with their English! The restaurant itself is in a little square below the chateau with a nice view; we sat outside which was great. Food was very nice indeed - I had a degustation plate with plenty of duck, pate, salad, bread and cheeses, which was yummy and very filling! Then peaches and sorbet for dessert; also very fresh and tasty. My boyfriend had steak, which he said was excellent, and rice pudding, again very good. For six of us, with 2 courses and drinks, it came to €190, which we thought excellent value for such a charming place. There were plenty of menus to choose from too, ranging from €19 up, so lots of choice for all pockets. We will be back!"

We found this restaurant as we wandered around Hautefort. It is superb with fine examples of local dishes. Well worth a visit.

Enjoyed our meal at this restaurant however there was a mix up with some of the party's meals. Duck main course was the star. Would definitely go again!

we took one of the set menus and not only was the food absolutely delicious, the portions were massive! if they order à la carte, the portions are even larger. good service and prices were appropriate.

We visited after a trip to the Hautefort Chateau, food was fresh and tasty, and a 4 course menu very reasonable at €19. Particularly recommend the Hake, also the 'Raz' sparkling rosé, delicious! Staff also very friendly and welcoming of our two toddlers. Visualizza piatti

Arrived rather late for Sunday lunch but table located, while other restaurants in square were displaying "complet". Pleasant staff and delicious food. The fish soup was certainly worth the 5 Euro surcharge and the steak and duck were both delicious. We chose the Bergerac pichet. Lovely. Only quibble was the time taken to process our payment. Well worth the wait, still salivating.

If you're visiting Hautefort in the north Dordogne we would thoroughly recommend this restaurant. The food is amazing and really good value - on both occasions we had the menu at 19 Euros and it was delightful: 4 courses, fish soup, tomatoes and mozzarella (one of the best I've tasted garnished with rosemary) hake and rice pudding. The staff are equally delightful - friendly, welcoming (and dog friendly!) if we come back to the village, we'll definitely be back to this restaurant.

After our visit to the Chateau ( which was really interesting) we strolled down to the town, there are 2 restaurants straight in front of you... walk past these about 20 metres and you'll find the Auberge du Parc. I must say, we thought no.., let's looks elsewhere, but please stop and if you have chance to make it in time for the lunchtime menu (until 2pm), you will wilt be disappointed. An exquisite 4 course meal for under 20 euro's. We left at least half a stone and 20km bike ride later to work it off. !! Visualizza piatti

After visiting the Chateau Hautefort we walked down into the village below to find somewhere for lunch. The first places we passed were closed for the day, but just round the corner we found this auberge and as it looked very attractive, with hanging baskets and outdoor seating, we decided to stop there.We only needed a light lunch so had a plate each of the salade tomates anciènnes, followed by desserts.The heritage tomatoes were delicious, and with each plate there was a really tangy tomato sorbet - a perfect dish for a hot day (33C).We followed this with, respectively, an excellent tart fine aux pommes and a very good pêche rôtie.The dishes were beautifully presented and decorated, and th...

We found this delightful establishment, run by the Poinsot family, as we wandered down from Chateau Hautefort after a wonderful visit there. We had a great table on the front terrace, great for people watching - the terrace is covered so weren't disturbed by a rain shower. The staff were charming and helpful with good English spoken - service was very good! The menu for lunch was extensive with options for everyone and there were lots of families and children dining. Prices are reasonable.I asked for a change to my omelette and this was provided with question. A nice selection of local wines included some good house wines. "Driving down the D5 to Cherveix Cubas you will find the restaurant at the ’T’ Junction with the D704 and situated on the bend just across the River Auvezere. There is parking behind the restaurant although it is not too obvious nor is it well sign-posted but there is also plenty of free parking at the side of the D5 opposite.As you enter it has a modern contemporary and clean feel with black tiled floor, to the side there is an extremely spacious and light filled conservatory area overlooking the river bank. We understood that there had been several changes of ownership in recent years but the current proprietors are a Franco-German couple and this blend is reflected in their menu offering.My entrée was a wurst salat (a German sausage salad, reflecting the female half of the team) which was quite palatable. The main course was a chicken breast stuffed with cream cheese with the usual suspects vegetable wise. The chicken in this instance was a little dry although the cream cheese filling made for a smooth taste. Dessert was a walnut cake which unfortunately was a little dry but went down ok with coffee. It was a nice atmosphere and the male owner who seemed to be the sole server was very pleasant and also accommodating dog-wise, the restaurant being Dog friendly. He happily provided a water bowl for my hound but as a nice touch after serving dessert he went and brought out dog biscuits for my four legged friend who, having slept under the table during most of the meal gratefully left his lair to wolf them down."

"C'est franchement un plaisir de rencontrer des restaurateurs qui font honneur à leur métier. La qualité des produits proposés se remarque dès l'apéritif, le vin de noix est simplement le meilleur que nous ayons bu depuis que nous sommes en Dordogne (entendons nous, je parles de ce que l'on vous sert habituellement dans les restaurants, pas de ce que vous trouverez de mieux chez un caviste).Nous avons pris le menu à 23 euros et avons eu la bonne surprise de nous voir offrir (hors menu) un Tourain revisité par le chef (un velouté simplement délicieux).Après cela de l'entrée au dessert c'était simplement parfait, on sent dans l'assiette le travail et la volonté de satisfaire le client, le boudin au fois gras ou le tartare de poisson en entrée, le sandre ou le veau en plat et les desserts, le dessert !Que ce soit le gâteau aux noix maison (ben oui on est en Dordogne) ou le baba au rhum (maison aussi) ou même la panna cotta, rien à redire, c'était vraiment très bon.Ajoutons que l'accueil est vraiment sympathique, le cadre sur la terrasse vraiment agréable et vous avez là un moment de table comme on aimerait en vivre plus souvent.Tout cela à un rapport qualité prix plus que correct, on voudrait trouver plus souvent des restaurateurs aussi irréprochables.Vous verrez probablement le chef en fin de service, ce qui est agréable et si vous avez aimé le Tourain, il vous donnera même sa recette.Si je devais résumer je dirais que nous avons vraiment eu un "coup de cœur", nous recommandons cette table sans réserve !"
