"We visit Peels about once a year, this is the third time we’ve chosen the tasting menu. We have always had a fabulous time. The format has changed so that you can choose either a 4 or 7 course tasting menu. There is now no a la carte option. We chose the 4 course tasting menu with the accompanying flight of wines. The flight of wines option was £55 each. In contrast to previous years, the wine served was very frugal. Between 4 people I doubt we enjoyed more 2 bottles of wine in volume, at the absolute most, though I appreciate you are getting the benefit of a wine description as it is being poured parsimoniously. The ingredient combinations for each of the four courses were quite safe bland, some of the textures not quite right. The meal was rescued a little by the chef’s additional extras which were more flavoursome than the main dishes. The environment the ambience were very enjoyable, though the service became a little ragged as the night wore on. We used gift vouchers which made a partial contribution to the meal (without going into detail) the handling of these was clumsy to say the least. Normally I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Peels but, on this experience given the expense, I couldn’t currently do so. In short, I suggest that Peels needs to up its game, especially where the food is concerned."

"We took a detour off the M42 and stumbled upon this hidden gem. The Mediterranean food was delicious and the coffee was great. The service was friendly and they even allow dogs. "My daughter and I visited this establishment for breakfast. In a past life it was a takeaway sandwich establishment, and to a large extent it still is but of a very high standard. We both had the Full English Breakfast Board which consists of a large Lashford sausage, Bromsgrove bacon, Black pudding (not for either of us), Free Range Eggs, Tomatoes, baked beans, mushrooms , toast and butter. I had an Americana and my daughter a tea. The food was excellent. Looking at the menu, the pricefor the breakfast was £8.95 which by today's standard is quite expensive, with the coffee at £2.25, and tyhe tea at £1.60. When we came to pay we were informed that there was a surcharge of 20% as we had eaten in. This was not told to us when ordering. The total bill which as far as we were concerned was £21.75 climbed to a dizzy £26.10. Some price for a lovely breakfast but sat on metal chairs in a tiny unit. I found the breakfast to be one of the best that I have had in years, but the price a bit steep and the lack of clarity re pricing annoying."

"We stayed here several times for a drink and food, but never before. tested on 13/05/22 and found the reception staff very welcoming, check-in was fas and easy, we ordered a breakfast for the following morning at £9 per. The room itself was clean and tidy with tea and coffee accessories. I saw a few Rev before we booked saying that the rooms where dating and beds uncomfortable, in my honest opinion I wouldn't vote, yes could be a touch of color here and there, but we slept very well, although the walls are a bit thin that doesn't disturb us. In the evening we used the bar and ordered food and drinks again with friendly faces and promt service. Breakfast was self service and it was value for money a lot of choice of cereals, yogurts and boiled items. The restaurant is a beautiful and real beautiful view"
