"We often visit the upstairs coffee area and our recent experience on July 3, 2023 was extremely disappointing. Despite arriving at 12:10 pm with many unoccupied tables, every table was filled with dirty dishes, trays, and tissues. The servers' attitudes were also lacking. We were told our drinks would take 10 to 15 minutes, and when they finally arrived, there were no spoons for the coffees. My wife had to clear and wipe a table herself to sit down, and when she asked for a spoon, she was told none were available. She managed to find a small wooden stirrer instead. The table we sat at overlooked an empty cake display and a dishwashing machine, as well as an overflowing rubbish bin with food remnants and tissues spilling onto the floor. Only two staff members were on duty for the first 20 minutes until another finally arrived to assist. In my opinion, the café should have been closed for at least an hour for a thorough clean-up, or for the rest of the day. We will be avoiding this café until all issues, including staff shortages, are addressed. It is clear that the current staff are overwhelmed and unable to properly maintain hygiene standards."

It was good a few years ago. But when we went most of the tables where left with plates of half eaten food our drinks arrived after our food. The food wes fine.Seems to me you need more staff to keep up the demand for tables

Recently visited Blas Clwyd Restaurant at Tweedmill for a lunchtime snack. Very helpful and friendly waitress, freshly made sandwiches. Tables sanitised immediately as the table was vacated. A special thanks to Tracy who made us feel welcome.

I paid nearly £40 for three meals and a cup of tea. Firstly, the wrong dish arrived for my friend. She’d ordered one dish and another arrived- a sausage casserole which when tasted was disgusting. . She left most of the pork stroganoff as it was slop. I had the veg pasta. It was cold and overcooked to mush with little taste. My mum’s jacket potato was ok. Very disappointed. A very expensive mistake. : Visualizza piatti

Nothing was too much trouble, for the staff members here in the cafe! The plaice chips and peas was amazing! There was even a tea or coffee built into the price such great value portion size was just right. Another person in our group had an egg mayonnaise bap, with salad on the side, the bap was massive! So tasty and fresh The staff were extremely welcoming and so helpful. We will be back again soon.

Blas Clwyd Cafe offers excellent home cooked food that hits the spot. My wife and I went today, she had the minted lamb hotpot and i Beef Mushroom pie. Both served with chips and peas and a hot drink of your choice for just under a tenner. The food and service was great, and by the look of it we weren’t the only people who appreciate the cafe as the place was busy. Desserts looked nice but we had no room for those.

My husband and I went for afternoon tea in the Blas Clwyd Tea Room. I was non dairy and when it arrived I had my own non dairy cake tier which had an amazing selection of cakes with sandwiches. The cakes all seemed to have been specially made for me. My husband's selection of cakes and sandwiches he enjoyed immensely. The lady serving us was extremely pleasant and nothing seemed too much trouble. Excellent value for money. We would both highly recommend. Visualizza piatti

It's our 10 year wedding anniversary week. Today my wife wanted to go for afternoon tea. We had heared that a good place was the tweedmill blas clwyd cafe. We heared correctly, absolutely lovely. I had called up prior to our visit to book, just in case. The lady I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and sorted us a booking. Nothing was too much to ask from the staff, all so friendly and polite. The lady we mainly dealt with was fantastic, unfortunately I didn't catch her name so can't praise her personally. A bit of constructive criticism, one of the tea cups set on the table wasn't the cleanest, also the cutlery had a lot of water spots, so clearly some polishing required as the cutlery...

"Went for afternoon tea with my wife, using an 'experience ' voucher from a well known site, costing £35.99 absolute disaster! The description said 'sit down in the sophisticated dining room and tuck into a section of finger sandwiches, tantalising cakes, pastries, macarons and scones with clotted cream and jam. You won 't want this afternoon to end! ' Trust me, we could not get out of their quick enough and go and find somewhere to get something to eat. The sophisticated dining room was a large, cold room with only a couple of other diners, sticky wooden tables, with no table cloths, just a flimsy paper napkin and a knife and fork. We ordered a coffee and a tea, which came in the smallest teapot, I have ever seen. Later in the meal, when we asked for another drink, we were told that was extra and were charged another £5.70. The food was nothing like as described or pictured on the website. A sad looking selection of sandwiches four quarters each of thin sliced bread one containing a very small piece of processed ham, a second mashed up egg, third was some sort of fish, not sure if it was salmon or tuna; and finally some sort of green leaf with something wet on top it looked like the sandwich had been made days earlier and then sat upon! No pastries or macarons but the two scones with clotted cream and two little pots of jam were OK, however the remaining small cakes were dreadful, none of them were fresh there were two eclairs that were inedible, either the cream or chocolate was off and they were very dry; two little red velvet cakes, which again were dry and horrible; and finally two small pieces of carrot cake that were the least objectionable but again very dry. When we told the waitress the eclairs, she said she would tell the chef but no offer of an alternative. True, it was an unforgettable experience, but not in the way we had expected! We have had afternoon teas in top hotels, pubs, cafes and well known garden centres and nothing came close to being as bad as this meal. Needless to say we will never return and would strongly advise caution if anyone is thinking of going here."
