The service was very good, the atmosphere was excellent and the food was excellent in quality and quantity. The first choice for lunch in the area.

We celebrated my father's 80th birthday at this restaurant, and the two waitresses provided excellent service, taking great care of our table. It was superb.

Not what I expected from web site. Food average. I expected the high prices but food didn’t compare with prices. Decor average for a bistro. Would not return.

Fantastic eatery situated in Balbirnie House, full of character and ambience. Delightful and delicious food at a very good price. Would highly recommend and after nothing beats a coffee in the lounge.

I highly recommend trying out this bistro for lunch. The service was quick and friendly, and the food was delicious and very filling. I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices for drinks at this top hotel. We had reserved a table as a gift for the set menu and will definitely be returning to explore the other meal options available.

This was a meal for my mother 's 74th birthday and the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. They gave us a few nice touches like a 'happy birthday ' plate with chocolate writing and truffles, brought the cake with candles lit, and sang happy birthday (even including the chef and generally made a fuss of us and of her : Will definitely be back and recommend the Bistro to friends and colleagues.

Our experience at the restaurant was good, but it was slightly spoiled by a family with two young children who were loud, walking around, and not well disciplined by their parents. We had chosen to dine here instead of going to the local Wetherspoons in order to celebrate my wife's birthday in a peaceful setting. Despite mentioning my wife's birthday when booking the table, it was unfortunately not acknowledged during our visit.

On arrival one receptionist at desk taking bookings on computer/telephone, long wait, didn 't feel at all welcomed. Food good. Service at table good but not attentive after food was served. At times no staff in Bistro at all. Coffee in drawing room good but lack of staff presence and warmth. Room lacks atmosphere and is full. No one to show us how to get to drawing room. Whole experience lacked warmth. Lack of ambience throughout. Been before and had a better experience but on Saturday 's experience I would think twice before returning.
