"Roger/Anthea/Colin and Angie visited Five Dials on Friday 29th September afternoon and popped in for a drink. The welcome we received from Sarah and crew and several of local customers was outstanding, so much so that we booked in for an evening meal. We turned up by taxi and again the welcome was fabulous. Our table was at the rear of the delightful restaurant. Our young lady called Carly soon sorted us some drinks. This service was continued by Sarah and Carly throughout the evening with a great food menu. We would like to give Five Dials a Five star review. Hope we can get there again. Well done and thank you. Cheers from all four of us . May try and stay there next time."

"We first called into the George in October this year for lunch on the way to a family holiday on the south coast. The welcome we got on that occasion was so memorable and the food so good that we thought we would try and book a Christmas meal. What a fantastic choice we made. Helen and the team went overboard to accommodate us, from the minute we walked through the door we felt so welcome. The meal itself was fantastic. We cannot comment negatively about anything except the brussels sprouts but then its a standard Christmas joke. In reality the sprouts were great. The locals were friendly and we had a good banter after our meal. My wife commented dont tell my mum but that is probably the best christmas dinner ive ever had and the roasties were to die for The ambience of the George is perfect, music you can hear if you hear a special song but not so loud that you have to raise your voice to hold a conversation. Accomodation is spacious and comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. I must also mention the breakfast. Again, up there with the best we 've had. It takes a special team to make a pub special and the George has got that one spot on. We look forward to visiting again soon Jim Deb"

"Modernised traditional Somerset pub in attractive village. Open and light bar area with wide choice of gin and a varied and well chosen wine list including by the glass. Odd there is no draught cider. Excellent service and superb food. Really liked the smoked fish roe sharer starter with sour dough crackers. Rooms at the back were warm and snug with neutral decor. Good bed. Powerful shower and local shower wash. Coffee pod machine and tea/ coffee available ."

"Lived locally my whole life but never visited strangely. Kept seeing posts of the food from one of my Facebook friends and knew it was one we needed to try! On arrival we all commented on how nice the pub physically was my sister’s partner was super excited by the stone baked pizzas. We had a fantastic night, the food was superb with a great variety of options for all tastebuds. All the staff were friendly and the waitresses super attentive. Really couldn’t fault it and will definitely be back again. Our new favourite place"

"We visited here for our annual Christmas meal for our staff and volunteers. The food was absolutely mouthwatering. Beetroot infused smoked salmon, pate and soup were the starters. The salmon was delicious. For main was roast beef or turkey. I had the beef which was excellent. Pudding was creme brulee cheesecake, Christmas pudding or a cheeseboard. The cheesecake looked amazing , although I had the cheeseboard which was delicious with a good selection of cheese, biscuits, grapes, apple and chutney. The service was prompt and the staff polite. I would highly recommend this public house for a meal. Thank you so much Alastair and team, you did us proud and compliments to the chef and kitchen staff. Thank you for your hard work in preparing such amazing food."
