"We went out on a Saturday night to celebrate multiple birthdays with a group of friends. We have visited this restaurant many times before and always enjoyed ourselves. However, this time the service was disappointing. Our waitress was very busy and apologetic for the delays, but the service just got worse throughout the evening. Some of the starters were cold and one was inedible. When my friend ordered a spicy curry, the waitress questioned her choice jokingly, which was not appreciated. There were mistakes with the orders, including my husband receiving the wrong dish. When my friend ordered a tofu and vegetable curry, it came with no vegetables, only a pot of curried vegetables with overcooked potato. Despite finding a bone in my chicken, we didn't complain when asked how the meal was. The waitresses cleared our plates while some of us were still eating and took our water glasses before we had finished. We also observed unprofessional behavior from the kitchen staff and management. The final disappointment was the bill, which included a £21 service charge on top of the £200 total. We refused to pay the service charge and agreed to split the bill at £35 per person. This confused the waitress, who then brought the manager over to question us. We felt mortified and uncomfortable during the interaction. Despite our explanation that we were not happy with the service charge, the manager was confrontational. This experience ruined our evening and we have decided not to return to this restaurant in the future."

"Unfortunately I only grabbed the one photo though that’s because they served my children and partner and decided to bring my food out 20 minutes after everyone else had eaten Let’s begin with the fact that the outdoor picnic tables had 0 umbrellas, I think I saw about maybe 5/6 umbrellas and there were at least 30 or more tables in open sunlight with no shade (and imagine you’re sitting outside with your dogs and children and there’s no shade unless you snag one of the few tables blessed with an umbrella. The quality of food was 2/5 The Huntér’s chicken was so over cooked I could only eat the inside as the outside had gone rock solid (even the dog took some crunching to get through) add that to the fact that it was £13 for about 180g of chicken (at most) horrendously over priced for the lack of quality and quantity. The calamari rings came in at about £7 and I was served with two rings (about the size of my palm) and one that was the size of my 2yr old toddlers palm. Again quantity did not match the price in the slightest. The margarita pizza was a steep £9.95 and it was the kind of quality in a Tesco value pizza (in size and flavour too) very quickly turned into flour flavoured plastic… The outdoor seating is not cared for and maintained, chunks of the tables missing, leaving sharp splintered edges. So it would be nice if that was maintained to a level of safety. Also worth a mention if you are walking in and you have a pram or wheelchair then they have shut the cut through they used to have and you’re forced to walk the long way around which is fine however you do run out of pavement which forces pedestrians to walk in the road and as it is quite narrow (fits a car in and a car out) there’s no space for pedestrians to be in the road so there’s a huge health and safety risk for wheelchair users and families with children to come off a high curb and be forced into a road. All in all not really worth it "

"Walked off mid drink order without saying anything and didn’t return for 10 minutes Table cloths were dirty with previous stains and the dish the popadom sauces were served on had not been washed and was covered in stains and old food. The Cobra had...floating bits and white powder in from dirty beer lines. After complaining there was no apology or follow up or replacement and when we complained about this at the end of the night the server argued and raised his voice blaming it on the suppliers of the beer, however that didn’t excuse that awful customer service that he refused to acknowledge (the table was mortified by the raised voice and argumentative behaviour despite running up a nearly £200 bill). We couldn’t finish our constructive criticism due to being interrupted several times by the in denial manager. Silent waiter starting clearing food we hadn’t finished and clearing people’s plates away while still eating. Didn’t offer drinks or desserts Handed a young child who was with us an exceptionally hot towel which burnt her hands. When we first sat down we didn’t get offered popadoms and when the waiter eventually brought menus over they were thrown over to the table (all 7 of us were mortified). Considering half of the table lives 2 doors down we really wanted to like the restaurant to revisit regularly. We will never be returning to the “local Indian” and will be travelling to the further one in the future. This was the WORST experience I have ever had in a restaurant and this review doesn’t do how TERRIBLE the service was enough justice. Avoid at all costs or enter at your own risk."
