it is a place led by russians, they have music in Russian, but everyone can go and they speak English. the decoration is quite well maintained, the place is idyllic. beside coffee there are typical Russian cakes and sweets.

we liked that there is not only cafe (or tschai) but also proper Russian hearty kitchen. pelmeni, borschtsch, schaschlyk, etc. - everything here and exactly as prepared in Russia. tastes delicious. there's even kwas! the ambiente is very successful. very Russian but without overbordening kitsch. with loving details, such as the board with a few vocabularies, which everyone can quickly remember. very recommended. the caffe a la russe is so small and discreet that they could miss it on the linden road... and they could regret it. this charming puppenhaus is cozy, beautiful decorated in a discreet Russian style with red walls. the menu is as small as the place, but offers some good specificities that I have tested: bliss with salmon, pirochki, salad vinaigrette, torts, Baltic beer. the service is fast and the prices are easy. the caffe a la russe is a good address in potsdam.

we stayed at caffe a la russe at lunchtime and delighted with the fresh and quality of the food. handcrafted fantastic. Considering that there are many restaurants in the potsdamer city and that was locally empty during our stay, you will get the water. such a thing should be much more appreciated than all these ready-to-be meals. we'll be back. we found the salat vanaigrette and the chocolate cake, which is made with love, and which literally melts on the tonge fluffy. an absolute secret tip in the linden road.

purely by chance, we were attentive to this little and most heartfelt caffe and went right into it. by its small size it is not to be overwhelmed by flair when you are received with a smile and traditional Russian music at the reception. the food came fast and were very tasty (I know the Russian kitchen like my western pocket) also the black tee did not come out of a bag, but was freshly poured in a typical country cup. great! it was like a small trip to Russia...very recommended! our visit was rounded off with a nice conversation to the close...you take time for each individual customer and is with heart and soul. we're coming back!
