"During our recent visit to The RT in 2019, I found it to be quite worn out. I specifically mentioned the outdated toilets and worn carpets needing renovation. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see the recent changes during my most recent visit. The fresh paint and new carpets have given the place a much-needed facelift, and the renovated toilets are a vast improvement. The food and drinks were still excellent, but this time the overall experience was much more enjoyable."

"While we were staying in Dalbeattie for a long weekend in January, we were recommended to visit the King 's Arms for some good food. We did indeed follow this advice and were well rewarded by superb food and excellent beer. The friendly staff were very accommodating and secured us a spacious table and provided a high-chair for our one year old. We all left as very satisfied customers and will return when next in the town."

"ROOM In Moffat's tranquil embrace, I found reprieve, A haven amidst the verdant weave. A training course beckoned, a quest for insight, Amidst Moffat's charm, I found respite Upon arrival, greeted with a smile, Room 11, my haven for a while. Spacious and cozy, a TV to see, Tea, coffee, and hot chocolate for me. A fridge stocked with care, milk in a jug, Two cokes, two waters, plenty to glug. Biscuits and sweets, Cadbury's delight, All these comforts made the stay just right. A lounge area, a sanctuary retreat, An en suite bathroom, where luxury meets. A shower hot, to invigorate, Wardrobe, drawers, bedside, complete. Some said the bar below would disturb, Yet in my haven, silence superb. A night of comfort, beyond compare, In Moffat's embrace, without a care. Breakfast Breakfast included, a feast divine, Plentiful and delicious, a sign. Return again? I definitely would, The Balmoral Hotel, exceptionally good. BAR/RESTAURANT Within its walls, a culinary tale, Where flavors dance and dreams prevail. Each dish a masterpiece, a work of art, Served with care, a chef's heartfelt part. Oh, the delights that grace the plate, From hearty pies to seafood's fate. With every bite, a journey begins, A symphony of taste, where happiness wins. Yet not just the food, but the staff's embrace, Friendly and attentive, leaving no trace. Of worry or want, they tend to all needs, Ensuring each guest's satisfaction exceeds. Clean and tidy, the ambiance serene, Where every corner, a beauty unseen. "Lovely decor and food looked amazing and very reasonably priced (sadly we were only stopping in for a quick drink. Tea was OK, kids drinks a little expensive. One thing to call out that wasn't obvious when we went in is that it's cash only. In the post covid world, I honestly feel that this needs to be a bit clearer than sign on the till. Not an issue if you know about it, but one set of passing visitors were caught out when we were there."

"I've had takeaway from here a few times. The food has ranged from disappointing to really quite good. Most disappointing was my Jalfrezi which is a mild dish here I didn't have a menu when I ordered so wasn't to know whereas it...is medium to hot everywhere else. The best was a king prawn dish. Portions are generous and prices are ok if a little on the expensive side. I will not be ordering anything from this restaurant again as it is common knowledge in the town that they throw away the leftovers in the field where people walk their dogs. This is making the dogs sick. Mine has been sick in the middle of the night, she has suffered from diarrhea and has had a very expensive and stressful trip to the vets in the middle of the night. Perhaps this review will make them stop because nothing else has."
