"We ordered their 7 dishes entree for two, and the stuffed chicken with dates. The first dish took about 45mins to arrive, and the second a further 30min. Well, ok sometimes that happens. But the food was not at all inspiring. For the entree, one of the dishes had a distinct burnt taste,and the one of the 7 that was hot, was only hot on the outside, inside it was stone cold. The rest were uninspiring. Tomato sauce, hummus, tahini, mayo... all tasted like they came out of a jar. For the stuffed chicken, the chicken was ok, a little dry, but ok. But the sauce and the veges were a very confused jumble of somewhat bitter flavours, served with gluggy rice, again bitter from the orange peel, and the same pretty ordinary flat breads we had in the first course. I have to say that this was the worst meal i can remember eating out in a long time."

"Der letzte Besuch war während der Corona-Pandemie. Damit verbunden, gemischte Gefühle, das bezieht sich auf Pandemie und den Restaurantbesuch. Diesen erinnere ich als „mittelprächtig“. Man wird womöglich anbauen müssen, wenn weitere Auszeichnungen im Restaurant untergebracht werden sollen. „Arbeitgeber des Jahres 2023“, „Top-Chef – Rolling Pin“, „1. Platz bei -Mein Lokal, Dein Lokal-“, „Aralschlemmeratlas“, „Gault-Millau“, „Guide-Michelin“ etc., so eine „Wall of Fame“ habe ich lange nicht gesehen. Auf der Instagramseite gibt es Promis zu bewundern, z. B. DJ Basti und Mathias Opdenhövel. Jan Diekjobst ist allgegenwärtig. Sein Corporate Design, welches mich an das der „Sansibar“ erinnerte, zierte Weingläser, die Hosen und Blusen des Service. Es findet sich ebenfalls auf der sehr professionell gestalteten Website des Restaurants. Ein gutes Marketing ist wichtig, bei der Vielzahl von Wettbewerbern. Obwohl das Viertelfinale (Deutschland-Spanien) der EM gespielt wurde, war das Restaurant voll. Offenbar mit vielen Stammgästen, die auf das herzlichste begrüßt wurden. Das Ambiente des Speisesaals gefiel uns sehr gut. Eine schöne Farbgestaltung, ein gutes Lichtdesign. Die Tische sind recht eng gestellt, dies empfanden wir nicht als unangenehm. Gut sitzt man, die Stühle und Bänke sind gut gepolstert. Es war „laut“, das hatte etwas von Bistro, dies mögen wir. Der Service agierte locker, war freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Nie waren die Gläser leer, der Brotkorb wurde unaufgefordert nachgefüllt. Wir entschieden uns für das Menü in 5-Gängen. Es las sich gut. Das Geschirr war schön, die Art des Anrichtens sollte das Auge ansprechen. Leider war der von mir gewählte Wein nur auf der Karte verfügbar, im „Keller“ fand er sich nicht. Man bot zwei Alternativen an, ich lehnte ab und bat erneut um die Karte. Ich wählte einen Burgunder von Dr. Heger, Jahrgang 2020, die Flasche am Tisch war leider von 2022. Nun ja. Die Grüße aus der Küche waren handwerklich in Ordnung. Kreativ waren sie für uns nicht. Ein Cornetto mit Rindertatar, eine kalte Paprikasuppe mit Himbeere. Ein „Tartelette“ mit Spargel etc. Die Temperaturen passten, das Gebäck war filigran gearbeitet und knusprig. Zum Brot wurde aufgeschlagenen Zitronenbutter gereicht. Ich mag das nicht. Ein Mundgefühl, welches an geschlagene Sahne erinnert. Ein wenig Bordierbutter, einfach aber gut. Es folgte Sellerie Haselnuss Jalapeno Rhabarber. Optisch sehr ansprechend. Geschmacklich erinnerte das an Waldorfsalat und war dank Mayonnaise erstaunlich mächtig. Säure durch den Rhabarber? Schärfe durch Jalapeno? Ich nahm beides nicht wahr. Jakobsmuschel Kohlrabi Mandel Apfel. Die Jakobsmuschel wurde roh zusammen mit Apfel und Kohlrabi zu einer Rose gerollt, etwas abgeflämmter Kohlrabi und eine homöopathische Dosis Kaviar darauf. Kaviar funktioniert für mich nur dann, wenn man ihn wahrnimmt. Hier konnte man die Körner zählen. Agnolotti „Carbonara“ Pecorino Pfeffer Guanciale. So simpel und so gut. Dieser Gang begeisterte uns, entzückte den Gaumen mit Cremigkeit und herzhafter Aromatik. Das Herumhantieren mit der ein Meter großen Pfeffermühle, schwamm drüber . Weidehuhn von Odefey und Töchter Brust Keule Kartoffel Karotte Rosmarin. Meiner Frau gefiel es. Ich vermisste Röstaromen, Hühnerhaut. Wurde die Brust „Sous-Vide“ gegart? Aromatisch saftig war ein frittiertes „Bällchen“ aus dem Keulenfleisch. Da auch die Kartoffelbeilage ausgebacken war, wurde es mir etwas zu fettig. Eine Pommes-Soufflées war handwerklich verbesserungswürdig. Erdbeere Schokolade Petersilie Sumak, das war ein optisch ansprechendes, geschmacklich gutes Dessert. Zum Kaffee noch einiger Naschereien, schön präsentiert und handwerklich in Ordnung. Nach etwas über zwei Stunden verabschiedeten wir uns bereits wieder. Ist man nicht regelmäßig Gast in der gehobenen Gastronomie, dann könnte man ggf. von der Küchenleistung beeindruckt sein. Am Nachbartisch „feierte“ man ein Kalbsschnitzel mit Kartoffelsalat. Für uns war das Dargebotene okay. Einmal mehr sah ich mich in meiner Wahrnehmung bestätigt, dass im Bereich der mit einem Guide-Michelin-Stern Ausgezeichneten alles von Kreisliga bis Champions-League zu finden ist. Geht es 2025 so weiter, dan könnte der des Guide Michelin an Glanz verlieren. Fazit: Ein Re-Match wird es für uns nicht geben."
