"Quality of food very mediocre. Hake, deep fried to a frazzle making it very dry and virtually inedible and a fish cake with no tartare sauce, as printed on the menu. This was not mentioned before the meal arrived. Substitute offered was mint sauce which with fish was not acceptable. Even with the voucher discount, we felt this meal was very poor value for money."

Usually come here for lunch and was not as impressed by dinner. They lost our booking via OpenTable and missed out on two requests in our order.

Cafe Rouge Esher is our restaurant to meet friends for lunch. The service is friendly and excellent and the food is always good. The French onion soup is delicious as many of the French dishes.

Chose Cafe Rouge uses my Tesco coupons. It was a pleasant experience with friendly service. The godfather was delicious. We booked for a family brunch and were impressed by the menu range, although disappointed pancakes were from the menu. Good welcome, service was good. No special provision for children. Ours are good behavior, but this would have been an extra distraction before the food arrived. The waiting staff could adjust the menu to our wishes.

It's been many years since I have been here. Living in Teddington I am spoilt for choice. However I had a fancy for the Cafes Beef bourguinon. It was as good as ever. Their Tarte aux Pomme was off that night and would have made the meal perfect. Good to know that old favourites maintain their standards and provide comfort food which you can count on.
